A must-see place in Senegal. This island is magnificent, full of history. We arrive near a beach, with nice restaurants, then we tour the island, the museum and the slave house. What follows is a short tour of the church, then on the heights with the art dealers. The thing is, you can't buy from everyone and some people have a hard time understanding that. If you feel like taking a splash on the small beach, be careful where you step. Place I will return to

This island was the largest slave trading centre on the African coast. A place where you can learn history and spend a good day at the beach. I recommend you to eat local sea food, there are many restaurants around the coastline. During Ramadan there’s less people which is good because sometimes it gets crowded.

Be careful, you must carry a passport/ID to enter the port. If you don't have it, let yourself be taken to some place on the "fast track". The rest is easy, you discover it in Goree.

Exotic, the slave house, the lovers' beach, the old-fashioned villas, the museum, the colonial schools... Absolutely worth visiting with family, especially. It is a very enriching experience.

A very beautiful island. Really interesting. Like almost everywhere in Africa, you are constantly besieged by people who want to sell something. There are also really nice things to buy. Above all, the view from the sea of the island (port side) is great. The island is definitely worth a trip.

I like going to this island. It is clean (for some time now, they have been providing information on waste sorting) It is peaceful, you can walk there at your own pace with or without an “official” guide. Visit the slave house quietly and listen to its story if you wish. Palpable emotions.

Bonne visite
