I was walking along the Corniche and by chance I stopped by to check out this place. Blew my mind! This residence is built in traditional African mud home style and currently serves a museum about the life of the first president of The Republic of Senegal, Leopold Senghor. The interior design was unexpectedly amazing and it carried both African and European characteristics. The staff introduced me the museum section by section in French. As a non-French speaker I caught many words but it only gave me a basic idea of the whole thing. If you plan on visiting here, do some research in advance due to lack of information in English.

A real disappointment. Arriving Friday 01/20/2023 at 4:00 p.m. we found the place already closed except it is clearly written that closing is at 5:30 p.m. Return on Saturday morning we stayed there until 10:30 a.m. still closed. A street fruit seller had to tell us that they don't come on Saturdays and yet it is clearly written that it is open on Saturdays. This is incredible, unacceptable and even disrespectful on the part of the staff managing this sanctuary. I was very small and ashamed in front of these people who had come from France only to visit this place and pay tribute to President Senghor who had given him his prizes of excellence at the current Venvolanovhen high school Lamine Gueye in 1958 before he was president from Senegal. The Ministry of Culture must review the management of this heritage which leaves much to be desired today.

Called the teeth of the sea, it is the private house of Gnilane Sedar Senghor, his real name, it is located on the western corniche of Dakar. Currently erected as a museum. It is very well maintained after being rehabilitated by the State.

Lovely home, fascinating history. Senghor moved into this 1970s home upon leaving the presidency of Senegal. The tour guide worked as a member of Senghor's security team during and after Senghor's presidency, traveling the world with him. The guide does not speak English, but if you can understand French you will learn a wealth of fascinating details about the President and his family's life after leaving office. The house itself is breathtakingly beautiful, with tapestries and artwork from around the world. The entry fee is about 3000 CFA. This museum is well worth a visit!

(Translated by Google) We go there to visit his home, frozen in time. Original furniture and very vintage atmosphere. It's a bit dusty. The guide is friendly and knows his text. It is a good introduction to this politician, figurehead of Senegal.

Closed even though signage and online say it should be open. Sin. Other attractions in Dakar have been reliable in their opening hours.

A really interesting place. We were the only ones and were immediately given a tour by the president's former bodyguard. Time has stood still in this house.
