Amazing hospitality from Abdou! All infrastructure has been removed but Abdou said he wanted to ensure there was something there when people turned up. Walk down to abandoned building and then past a couple hundred metres of rocks and you get to a stretch of beach and get taken care of entirely. Abdou provided towels to lie on, umbrella, coffee, peanuts and then his friend even brought over some mussels he had just caught! True showing of teranga

Right now (Feb 2023) the whole area behind this small beach is under construction. There used to be lovely little rasta styles cafés with sunbeds and terraces, but no more. You can still rent an umbrella and a blanket from guys on the beach itself, and they can even prepare a meal for you, but it's nothing like it was before. It's also difficult to access because of ongoing constructions. The only reason to go here would be because it's even more "private" and secluded than before, and the beach itself is still clean with big rolling waves. It's reasonably safe for valuables etc, because no people passing through, and it (still) seems to be a place of preference for young mixed couples, which is cute somehow. It's a very small beach though, so you can't really find/claim your own little corner.

The path to the beach is closed due to some work being done. But you can get access by going around.

Great place to swim or dive for sea snails. You can also walk along the rocky coastline or do some rock climbing.

A very beautiful beach that's well out of the bustle of the busy city of Dakar. It's a great chilling spot with waves that want to swallow you up and a breeze that should be prescribed for serenity

Definitely one of the pearls in Dakar for beach experience. The water is ok and you can chill at Max's restaurant and have a drink and meal with and wonderful view to the sea. Don't hesitate to make contact wit Max, he is a wonderful host. Be aware with waves there sometimes!!

Best beach in Dakar. A mix of foreigners and locals you will met really great people. Can be an affordable day out if you bring your own food and just pay for taxis there and 2,000CFA mat

🫤 A wastewater stream runs into the beach on the western side, so swimming or surfing here is inadvisable to say the least. Those who swim and surf here do so in contaminated water. It's not a bad place to have a drink and watch the waves though.

👍👍 The beach is small and typically does not have too many people though on weekend it can be fairly crowded. The waves can be fairly large during some seasons, so not for the faint of heart. Some people like to come here to smoke legal and other substances.
