Visited during Restaurant Week and had a wonderful experience. Food was exquisite. Enjoyed every bite. Free valet parking. Efficient service. Dinner service can get a bit loud. Tables sit closely, causing us to hear many conversations.

Celebrated my daughter's 21st Birthday here and accidentally went to the wrong Al Biernat’s first off Oaklawn. I say this to only brag about their location FIRST because from the moment I drove up, the Valet helped me unload my car with Ballons, presents etc. and even walked me inside to help me carry everything in. When I realized I was at the wrong location they kindly helped me back into my car with everything and I drove to the North location. When I got there Valet greeted me, but it was a completely different level on service. They did nothing to help me and even saw me struggling to get everything and never offered a hand to help at all. Very disappointing especially after what I just experienced from the other restaurant. Thanks goodness we had a descent waitress and the food was good, but this was why I only gave 4 stars at this location. However, I must say the North location felt more sterile to me and not as inviting as the one off Oaklawn. From now on though I will probably just go there because of the level of service.

I'm not an Michelin restaurant reviewer, however if I were, I would give Al Biernat's North the highest rating. I honestly feel no words could properly express my experience. The service was exceptional. Our server was Steph G and she was fabulous. Her personality and professional heightened the experience. I'm actually smiling right now as I reminisce. The food was amazing. I normally order salmon, however I ordered the Tomahawk Steak. It was soooo good. Tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The added bonus was the manager James G. He came to our table and with his charisma, made us feel as if we were frequent client of the restaurant for ages. To end the experience, I ordered the Chocolate Bread Pudding. It was a dessert sent by the Gods:) It was simply heavenly. Al Biernat's North I tip my hat to you:)

Wonderful steak house! The ambiance is incredible, 5-star service, and delicious food. Wonderful restaurant for date night or for business dinner. James the GM took care of us from start to finish, best customer service I’ve had!

You really can't go wrong here. Service is always great and food is always amazing. I've gone for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Never been disappointed. The quality of the food is always top notch, everything is fresh, and taste is always great. You obviously can't go wrong with the steaks, but I also personally like the chicken piccata and the crab angel hair pasta for lunch.

My husband had the sea bass. The calamari was the best we’ve ever had and we have had a LOT of calamari over the years. 😁 the food is incredible. The atmosphere is perfect. The service was great.

Ate here with my family for my moms birthday and had a really good time. The food was definitely delicious and the drinks were mixed and made well. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating of our needs and the atmosphere was really good. I would definitely eat here again if the opportunity arises.

Wow. Amazing. Having been to the downtown location, I had high expectations for this place and they matched and exceeded it. They have complementary valet. The staff were very friendly and nice. Got the escargot and tortellini appetizer (warm and creamy), American wagyu NY strip (oh so yummy) $90, special spinalis steak (more chewy but lots of yummy beef flavor) $99, mushrooms, Mac and cheese, creme brulee and banana pudding. Everything was delicious. I've eaten at many steakhouses and these steaks rank among the better. Dessert was comped for our birthdays. Plan on coming here to celebrate special occasions. My strongest recommendations for Al Biernat's North!

My wife and I enjoyed our dinner. Service was fine and food was very good. I was slightly disappointed with the oysters on the half shell. Whoever shucked them lost all of the oyster juice which resulted in a dry unappetizing presentation. It’s a crime to lose the juicy brine that makes east coast oysters special. The mussels and clams in white wine sauce were divine. And I LOVED the Hokkaido A5 Wagyu. Literally melted in my mouth and was easily worth the high price. My wife enjoyed her filet, but was jealous of my Wagyu. The broccolini and risotto were meh. The Coconut pie was a small piece and wasn’t anything I’d claim if I were a pastry chef. The steaks here easily blow Chamberlains out of the water.

I recently dined at Al Biernat's north steak restaurant in Addison and I must say, it was a delightful experience. I ordered the medium cooked filet with loaded potato and Mac and cheese, and it was cooked to perfection. The warm goat cheese salad and prawns were a great start to the meal. Unfortunately, I was too full to have dessert, but I'm sure it would have been just as delicious. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great steakhouse experience.

Nice atmosphere and good food. Steaks were cooked to liking. Service was slower and almost lacking. Meaning- waiter was not as attentive like other steak restaurants. Did not ask for our drink order or come back to refill after. Food came out almost 30 minutes later after ordering. We had to wave the waiter over to ask and he then brought it out? Basically had to ASK for things. Ask for drinks, ask for refills, ask where the food was, ask for dessert.

Al Biernat’s North deserves more than five stars. I’d give it at least another five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! It was our 30th wedding anniversary and both of our adult children and their spouses were there to celebrate. Steve, our server, and his helper treated us like Kings and Queens, Princes and Princesses. I will never forget that night. We all ate well that night: filet mignon, chicken Parmesan, two of us had the scallops with spinach, sea bass, and finally, the 22 ounce prime cowboy ribeye. Our son-in-law was so stuffed I don’t think he needed to eat for days. We had lots of tasty sides: creamy spinach, roasted Brussels sprouts, steak fries 😍. A couple of us wanted the macaroni and cheese, but we got voted off the island. In honor of our anniversary we were treated to two free desserts. My son and his wife choose the banana bread pudding and I shared the double chocolate cake. Beverages were wine and a non-spicy mango margarita. The only thing that disappointed me was the mango margarita. I like to taste the tequila in a drink and I couldn’t.

The customer service of Jose was impeccable tonight. The food was delivered with great attention to timing between courses. The entrees were perfectly prepared and exquisite! The sea bass is delightful and the steaks will make your taste buds crave the next bite. The peanut butter chocolate banana creme pie is to die for, and the espresso martini is the best way to end a delicious meal. This restaurant does everything to perfection! Thank you Al Biernat's!

Great atmosphere, service was great as well. Candace was great and very friendly. The dry aged steak was great, the other - prime cowboy was okay but not as good as the dry aged. The soup was good as well, and we also had the Creme Brulee, which was a little too sweet for me, and the Key Lime Pie was good as well. Overall great service.

The food was cooked to perfection. My problem is there was no wow. This restaurant is raved about. High prices for something I could have gotten at Texas Roadhouse. So I am paying for ambiance and the service. The waiters very prompt and always checking glasses, removing dishes. That was the wow for me the service. Otherwise, it's just another overpriced restaurant.

Had ladies night here with a small party. Our server was a gem, the establishment is beautiful the food wasn’t as tasty or delicious as I expected it to be. Overall it was a great time out and I enjoyed myself.

I highly recommend making a reservation here. My friend and I sat at the upstairs bar. The service was top shelf. Everyone we interacted with was polite. They took our drink order and explained the specials. Our food came out of the kitchen crazy fast. My filet was perfect. The brussel sprouts were almost as good as my wife's and the garlic mashed was yummy too.

Great place to take the wife for date night! Awesome 20oz Ribeye steak, great lump crab cakes. They have really good fresh coffee too.

I visited last year after beating the big "C". It was a "victory" brunch for myself as well as a friend who had recently took on a new role in his career. Our server and his assistant were amazing, super friendly, helpful and relatable. Great atmosphere, clean establishment, and nice decor. We ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes, Lump Crab Cakes, Smoked Salmon Breakfast Nest, Calves Liver, Mama Laverne's Chicken & Waffles, and ended with the Seasonal Fruit. Did we finish everything in one setting? Only the breakfast nest and fruit, lol, it was definitely a lot of food. I greatly enjoyed the following: The Lump Crab Cakes were fresh, packed with flavor, and addicting. Mama Laverne's Chicken & Waffles exceeded my expectations - I was first introduced to the plate via a church announcement - and the recipe and taste were phenomenal. The Calves Liver may require an acquired taste, and I can honestly say that I appreciated it much more the following day 😅 - plus it's packed with nutrients and protein. The Seasonal Fruit was beautifully presented and a great way to end our meal on a super healthy note with a sweet delight.

I took my best friend here for his birthday and we were very impressed with the food and decor! We both had never tried beef Wellington before but after trying the beef Wellington bites, I can’t stop thinking about them! We also tried the whole lobster Thermador and I was blown away with the taste and how large the portion was! Also if you’re planning on ordering it, get ready to “shell” out $170, pun intended!

I came here for a Christmas party and booked a larger group. The service was good - considering the server was also the bar tender since it was brunch time. We were able to order from the dinner menu. The steak was good, the derbies were good as well. The valet worked from tips. The place was decorated nicely for pictures as well.

We were the very last party to arrive on reservation for 9:45, arrived late at 9:52… Mind you they close at 10. EVERYONE including the host, bartenders, and other staff were so attentive & gracious. I know how annoying it can be to be that last guests at a restaurant but they still provided excellent service! Once the food came out it was TO DIE FOR! Seasoned perfectly, true to requested temperature, and presently simply & elegantly. I came in thinking I wouldn’t expect anything less than other restaurants but this place definitely exceeding my expectations. Thank you all! 💜

Amazing atmosphere, service, food and drinks. Highly recommend the Sea Bass or cowboy ribeye. Tons of great cocktails and delicious options on the dessert menu. We were seated immediately and not rushed at all the entire evening on a busy holiday night. We will be back!

You'd think New Year's Eve that both food and service would be sub par at a restaurant. The experience gets worse when it's a big dollar meal! Well, Al Biernat's North was NONE of those things! We were promptly greeted and sat upstairs. Chris (our server) was on the ball with us, as was his support staff. The bread, lobster bisque, and wedge salad were all excellent starters and the portions were very nice. I split a Prime Tomahawk Ribeye ($130) and with the AuGratin Potatoes and Creamed Corn, it was more than enough for both of us. Our third had a 12oz Filet Mignon with fries. I don't know how they prepare the fries, but they are the best fries I've had (including my previous favorite in 2023 in Amsterdam)! Dessert was a bowl of Blood Orange sorbet that was nothing short of knockout flavor and portion. Some people will not like seeing $130 for a steak or $9 for a soup, however, it goes beyond the product itself. The service was impeccable, especially for an evening like NYE. The Tomahawk was every bit as perfect as my previous visits. There's definitely something to be said for consistency! Last but not least, I accidentally left my credit card with the payment and had a phone call on the way home about it. Most restaurants have no way to phone you, however, through my reservation, they came through. All in all, I must recommend and give Al's 5 stars!
