I'd been to Guf quiet a few times before and i've always had a friendly customer service with great prices. But 3/4 time's I've been recently i've been met with what feels like an unwelcome atmosphere from some staff from behind the counter. Two expiereneces that stick in my mind was when i tried to buy something and a staff member had their friends crowing the check out section while they talked about a Magic deck they were making and i felt like i wasn't acknowledged as a customer. i waited for 5 minutes and after not being servered i looked around looking for other items, after coming back against to the counter the staff memeber seemed almost annoyed that i wanted to buy something. i wasn't greeted with a friendly hello or a casual conversation that i was usually met with before. My most recent expeirence happened when i walked into the store and the people behind the counter looked up at me like i wasn't suppossed to be there. I walked inside and grapped some Hardcases. when going up to the counter the staff member (this one diffrent from the one before) didn't acknowledge me. i asked "how are you going today?" and i was met with no response. i wondered if they just didn't hear me so i asked "Busy day" to again no response. This was my first time buying hardcases for some Cards and when asking "are these okay for Pokemon Cards" it was just a quick "yea" and that was it. i ended up buying a couple more items totaling to over $100. At the end of the transaction they turned their back to me immediately and went back to talking to a staff memeber about something. i found it a little rude that even after spending over $100 i didn't even get a Thank you or a see you next time which i had gotten before from Guf even when spending alot less.

Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments every Tuesday night always has friendly players and staff. Not much negativity and events here are beginner friendly. A great place to start doing tournaments such as Yu-Gi-Oh for fun or competitive for beginners or for veteran players.

I would rate Guf a 2.5/10. It doesn’t smell the greatest in there, and the staff aren’t super friendly. The atmosphere isn’t great either. The products they provide have a large range, and very good quality as well. Very expensive products though, compared to stores like TechZone and in some cases EBGames. I recommend shopping at TechZone Geelong for these types of products. Guf is good for tournaments though.

An interesting place, they specialise in providing the facilities to play card games and computer games. they have a variety of games on offer and also sell cards. there are drawbacks, mainly that the computers cost by the hour, so it would be advisable to use your own computer or console if you have one already. if it is really busy, then it can also smell of sweat, but usually it is a great place for people to meet and play cards or games.

Good prices for Geelong. Staff are always there to help and teach you the basics of what they know and with the new stock, there's a lot of selection to choose from. Patrons there are also quiet friendly and will come chat with ya or just look at what you're doing. You can normally rock up alone and find someone who's interested in doing whatever game you're trynna get into.

amazing place to just sit down and causually play some card games, from Yugioh to Magic fhe gathering. All staff are extremely helpful with helping you look for a product they stock or ordering in stock. Be aware, there are players of all ages, skill sets and play styles. the environment can get loud, if you are after peaceful games, try more quiet times.

One word comes to mind when trying to describe the owner of GUF Geelong, excellence. From the way he conducts himself with players who attend events for cards or tabletop games, to how he makes new customers and attendees feel welcome. He carries himself with professionalism and dignity whilst still having plenty of room for enjoyable conversation and humour.

Amazing space for gameplay, be it tabletop or cards. The staff is overwhelmingly friendly and knowledgeable and always available for a chat or help when it comes to the myriad of games available at the store, and the stock available (both on hand and to order) is vast and amazing for anyone looking to get into any kind of hobby in this space. Could not recommend the store more.
