Will NEVER return! The expectation was high based on pictures and from the beginning when it opened. Spent time on the rooftop (the highlight) but made reservations at 11pm for Bourbon & Banter. Upon entrance, the air was stuffy and sticky. The host gave us a choice of a booth or table. The booth was occupied but they were checking out. Another group came in and we offered our table. Because it was clear that staff was low. Finally seated ordered a couple of drinks and the charcuterie board. Poor service!! My glass was extremely dirty and I wouldn’t be surprised someone spit in my drink. The charcuterie was not worth the price. And they said no more bread crumbs was available. Is this what you get when reserving a table at 11pm. Compare the drink in my pictures from the others, guess you can be the judge, as to why the one ⭐️. This might be the worst experience in Dallas. Don’t waste your money or time. The rooftop was definitely a better time and experience. So glad another couple ended up leaving rather than join us. The host is in the picture. She caught an attitude throughout my experience. But she could be over worked or just don’t give 2 f$&ks or just my party of 2.

I'm always up for a good speakeasy. The ambience definitely impresses. However, it should be noted that the cocktails are expensive, even by Dallas standards. They are creative, but some of my friends didn't think the drinks were worth the cost. To each their own. That is for you to decide. I enjoyed my time there. However, just know you're paying for the setting.

I’m not sure why this place has “Banter” in their name, the music was crazy loud, you could barely hear what the person across from you was saying. The drinks I guess were original, and tasted alright. The setting was pretty cool though, and the code at the pay phone to get in was a nice touch. There were a couple of other issues I had while here but I don’t want to call out any of the staff. I just really wish I had spent the money I spent at this place somewhere (anywhere) else.

I made reservations for Bourbon and Banter over a month ago. I got a text yesterday confirming I still intended to attend and I confirmed. I got to the bar and saw a private party sign out front which of course was confusing. I entered the code to enter the bar and was told they were having a private party. This was done absolutely unapologetically. We were told that it didn’t matter that we had a reservation. This is a bar using a reservation system. I can’t imagine the private event was schedule the same day. Why are you allowing guests to book on days there are private parties? Why is there no protocol for reaching out to guests to inform them their reservation cannot be honored? I had been looking forward to trying this bar for over a month. I’m really surprised at the experience.

We came here for my friends birthday hoping it would be a cool experience. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. It took 45 minutes to get drinks. Half of our food didn’t even show up. Our waiter disappeared and never came back. The food and drinks that did come were not good. We were so tired of the bad service that we decided to leave but couldn’t get anyone to give us a check. We literally could have just walked out but didn’t want to dine and dash. Finally after another 30 minute wait, they brought over the check. We wanted to leave so didn’t bother splitting it up. They came back after charging our card with an added 20% service charge that was not present on the initial receipt. We complained politely and they kicked us out. The manager was incredibly rude and would not even apologize for the terrible service. Not worth the “cool” experience of having a phone booth open a door.

Great drinks, excellent mixologist for bartender, small place neatly hidden, great atmosphere. That night it was mediocre service, so we ordered at the bar and brought drinks to our table ourselves, halfway through our drinks waitress came to take our order, 🤦🏽‍♂️ Paid parking is only a short block away Because of the drinks were so good we’ll definitely go back.

When I walked into Bourbon n Banters it felt like walking into the set of the 2014 movie "Kingsman : The secret service". Dim low lights but bright enough to see what I was drinking, which was a cold glass of beer. The elegance and class made me forget I was sitting in a bar located in the basement of the Statler hotel.

Looking for a true speakeasy? Come here! You’ll be escorted by the doorman, to a phone booth and the rest will be left up to your imagination if you don’t come here. Incredibly good quality cocktails, a solidly built out happy hour menu and well made classics. Not the most Dallas activity but definitely worth while!

Before COVID we loved going to this bar. The drinks were good, the atmosphere was great, the staff was amazing. Tonight was our first time back, I've never in my life been treated as I was tonight. We meet our friends for a celebration after dinner expecting a good time and great drinks. Up until our friend left everything was good. After our friends left we ordered some more drinks and then the manger approached. She told us that there a 2hr max and we had been there 2 hrs & 45 minutes, which was untrue, we were 10 minutes till the 2 hr mark. She told us we either had to go to the bar or leave. I would have been okay if the bar was full or was told ahead of time. Nowhere on the website or when I made the reservation was that stated. It definitely wasn't the case pre COVID. Our waitress disappeared (after the $95 tip) and left it to the manager. She rudely left, stating she was checking on our drinks. Then some guy walks up and says "I hear your giving my girl a hard time". We were taken aback and tried to explain the situation. After explaining that we had no idea what the policy was we were told we to leave. Honestly, we were not causing a problem, we were spending money. If they had been kind and diplomatic we would have gladly moved. We aren't unreasonable people nor were we drinking too much. The guy treated us like we were causing problems and needed to be escorted not only out of the bar, out of the hotel. We were never belligerent until the end due to how we were treated. The bar was not busy, we have seen it way busier. There were 5 tables open, including a 4 top and not a whole lot of people not at a table. This will absolutely be the last time I go there

A cute speakeasy located in the Statler hotel downtown. Bourbon & Banter, as its title states, is a bourbon cocktail bar. This also means they have a limited food menu. However, I did order the brussel sprouts and they were delicious - cooked to perfection and the vinaigrette was the best. I also ordered a drink, “The Lover Boy”. It was smooth and aesthetically pleasing. The bar itself is small, but has ample seating. It’s very dark as well. It gives a mysterious yet classy vibe. I would definitely recommend for a date night or just a moment to unwind after work (which is why I was there). For both items, my drink and brussel sprouts, I spent about $29.

It was a decent experience. Finding the place and getting in using the phone booth was neat. The drinks were pretty good but the highlight of the night was the sauce they used on the meatballs. The meatballs themselves were a bit overcooked but the sauce was amazing

This was my first time ever at a Speak easies type of bar and lounge spot. My friend showed me How the entrance worked. He went into this phone booth typed in a few digits and this brown wooden popped open. I really enjoyed my time there tonight. The atmosphere was electric. Our drinks were on point. The bar mixologists were phenomenal. It was very spacious and clean. They are open until 2a.m, there located inside the Statlers Hotel Dallas. I'll definitely return.

Wonderful experience! We had amazing drinks made by William and Will (Jefferson’s Sling and D.A. Tribute) that were really special even to people who consider themselves cocktail snobs. It was busy without being uncomfortable or loud. Enjoyed the evening!

I've been here plenty of times, their drinks used to be standard, 12-15$. This past time they removed all the prices from the menu and now each drink is ~$24, i paid $49 for 2 drinks. The drinks are fine but not $25 fine. Disappointed, the place is cool but definitely overpriced since there's other similar speakeasies literally a block away with $15 drinks.

We absolutely loved everything about this place. From the moment you find out how to get in, the atmosphere inside, the people, the menu and the drink presentation. Loved it all!

Great speak easy. Amazing selection. Weller 12 year, E.H. Taylor, Blanton's, etc. Japanese Whisky was lacking a bit, but for actual bourbon they were on point. Small dark place, hidden from the public. You need to enter a phone booth and dial a code to open the door.

Very unique cocktails and presentation. Immaculate vibes. The road got higher. The entrance to get into the speakeasy was really cool as well. They have a wide selection of cocktails, but as the name suggests, it is very bourbon focused.

I had a pleasant experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. However, there was a small hiccup as they brought the wrong order, but their response was quite amusing. When we pointed it out, they not only corrected the mistake but also offered a free soda, which was a nice gesture. Overall, a great dining experience despite the minor mix-up, and I'd give it four stars.

This place is hidden jewel. Great staff, Max the bartender is the best. Service is slow, but worth the wait. My favorite is a green tea cocktail

Such a spot and vibe at the same time!! It’s a speakeasy on the backend of a barbershop but delicious drinks go a long way

My husband and I went here tonight for the first time. We sat a table to eat & drink. We waited 30-45 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The waitress walked by us over and over again and didn’t say a word (not even to offer a glass of water). We had to ask for it. When she gave us our waters and a menu she never returned to take our orders. But she continued to serve other tables around us and casually stroll by. We noticed there weren’t any other black ppl there and wondered if this was the reason why. We were definitely not welcomed! After about 45 minutes of this we decided to leave. The waitress saw us leaving and did not say a word. It was very hurtful and disappointing!
