My group of 15+ people used to frequent Sandbar Cantina weekly, but we have decided to stop going because they keep kicking us off for things like doubles tournaments and a single guy giving lessons, even when we’ve been playing there for several hours, buying drinks and food, etc. This has happened multiple weeks in a row; I’m not going to continue spending money and time here when we show up, order drinks, start playing, and then get kicked off 30 minutes later and have to finish my drink while watching 2 people take up a whole court just to do lessons. That’s a bit ridiculous.

Our volleyball girls had a blast celebrating Friendsgiving. The only downside is the food. This place is not really set up for food orders and there is a very long wait and the portions are small for the price.

I went here for volleyball league starting up in the spring, and overall I think the bar area is cool although it could be a little bigger, but the volleyball courts are pretty nice. I will say some of the courts are not very well lit so that's something that should probably be addressed. Also we thought it was really annoying that you couldn't bring in your own bottle of water, they force you to buy the water on site or you can just be super thirsty I guess, even though you're doing a physical activity. I think that's a policy they need to change, who doesn't let you bring in a bottle of water when participating in a sporting event? I understand if you're bringing in beer or some other sort of drink, it's a big revenue stream for them, but water is a basic human need especially when you're sweating!

You are not allowed to bring your own water. Do I have to say more than that? It is 90+ degree heat in Dallas, Texas. I was told I cannot bring my own water in, and then they want to charge me for water. Today, a person even fainted due to dehydration. A place who chooses profits over basic ethics, is a place I cannot do business at. I hope the city steps up and fixes this.

They overcharged me and added their own tip. My amount was pending for a few days and then updated to a new balance that I did NOT approve of. Very sketchy especially since I asked the guy if he needed me to sign a copy of the receipt he said no we don’t use it. I have tried calling but the number does not work and goes straight to a voicemail. I left an email so let’s see if they respond

Went there for my Birthday and Waited patiently while some very rude people who appeared to frequent the establishment played. After an hr and a half of waiting we got the court. It was supposed to be my birthday party I had about 6 people show up. We got told we couldn't play more than one game at a time with our group and that we had to let others play although we just waited forever... So we played one game after being there an hour and a half.. Owner was very rude he stopped the game. Did not say happy birthday after I told him this was my birthday party.. Luckily we brought our own ball because the vibe there was very racist honestly and people were telling us we couldn't use the balls that EVERYONE else was using.... I don't leave reviews often but its pretty clear why they are going out of biz as no one seems to know what is going on there. First impressions are everything and as a local REALTOR and business owner I couldn't believe the service that was provided.

Nice place to chill and play volleyball. However, the drinks are over priced with no liquor in it. And a shot is $10.00. For what?! Bartenders are short with you. No sense of humor. After a few hours, they have attitudes with everyone. Especially the brown skin girl. The food is mediocre at it's best. Overall...good place to play and catch a nice skyline view. Drink and eat before you come or elsewhere!

I had a bit of a difficult time finding Sandbar Cantina.  I'm not sure if it was my fault or Google's but anyways FYI it may take a little searching to find this place. Sandbar is truly a Cantina both in look and atmospherr, both of which I very much liked.  I arrived on a Monday just after opening and had the place pretty much to myself. The bar had my favorite beer on tap (Deep Ellum IPA) but due to a miscommunication I didn't know it was available.  The beer selection was pretty good though. Their menu looks pretty interesting but I only had the cheese sticks. They were darn good. I imagine it gets a lot better or a lot worse when the people start packing in and the volleyball players start playing.  I'll come back and re-review of my opinion changes. I definitely encourage anyone to go check it out, especially on the weekends.

My place to get away from stress, clear your mind and enjoy yourself in a healthy way. "Life is short to wasted." Sport is the best way to get out of the daily routine😉

Great place for volleyball players. Cheap drinks. Very friendly toward ladies wearing beach wear without anyone judging or being weird about it. Even topless is allowed if anyone feels like it.

The employees said feel free to use an open court. The local players were saying you had to challenge the previous winner to use a court. The previous winner wasn't around but we couldn't use the open court. We got lunch and drinks somewhere else

Sandbar Cantina is one of the best places in Dallas to play sand volleyball. They are open most of the year, with only a little down time during the winter months. Volleyball is free, and you can usually play from opening till 11pm. The people here are very nice. You are not allowed to bring in drinking containers from outside. They will check bags probably 50% of the time. I usually chug a bunch of water right before I enter. When I want to get a drink of water, I'll take the 2 minute walk back to my car, get a drink, and then continue playing. If you need a volleyball, you can trade your car keys for a volleyball. If someone steals your volleyball and argues with you that that was there ball, don't argue with the drunkards, just take it up to the counter and exclaim that someone stole your car and things will settle down from there - true story!

I love playing volleyball here but the staff is always really rude and short with everyone. They all act like they hate their jobs and act bothered when you ask for anything

A really nice place to play beach volleyball! There are 5 outdoor fields. Drinks and fingerfood available at the bar inside.

Awesome place in the heart of Dallas. I play in league play here on Friday nights, but you can also grab a court for play with friends. The environment is awesome, and the food is also great. The servers are attentive and hardworking. They do an awesome job hosting our league and maintain the courts well.
