If you like seafood or good food in general, check this place out immediately. Everything was fabulous … and I’ve never had such good coleslaw in my life…so tasty and fresh. I had the market fish and oysters…both on point. The banana bread/pudding dessert was amazing! The bar is super cute. I plan on returning to have good drink and maybe a solo dinner date with myself. Just really comfortable. This place is definitely a must if you want a seafood fix! 🦀🐙🍤

Server was great and food was average. Took a while to get food tho it was fine. Oysters are huge but a bit rough. Overall, if I want a lot of cheap huge oyster, would go back, otherwise it was not super special. I got lemon meringue cake for the dessert and it was good!

Huge size oysters. Everything is fresh!!! Cute outdoor sitting area in the back where you can hang and get drinks while waiting for table

I’ve been coming to this place for years. It’s consistently excellent. The raw Gulf oysters in season are always fresh and tasty. The fried shrimp or fried oyster “loaf” sandwiches (like a po’ boy but without the traditional lettuce and tomato fixings) are terrific. And the gumbo is great, too. Really, I’ve never had a bad meal here. The new back bar and dining area are very nice, but you can’t beat the red-and-white checkered tablecloth ambience of the original dining room. S&D Oyster Company is an essential part of the Dallas experience.

Exquisite restaurant with an old fashioned nostalgic feel. The oysters are quite large and fresh! Recommend if you are an oyster lover.

I was down here on business and based on reviews wanted to stop in here. 1st thing I noticed was there service. It was exceptional from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Excellent service at lunch time. Then it was their menu. Well created and designed by their chef. A ton of great options. I settled on seafood gumbo, shrimp loaf (similar to a po boy but, better), and homemade coleslaw. Phenomenal choice that I made all around. Then to put the icing on the cake Lemon pie for dessert. Their bakery chef did an excellent job as well. Being a big guy I could have eaten more. Their portions on everything I ate was absolutely the right size. Even their ice tea tasted different. I had the pleasure of meeting their GM who has been there for a long time. She was sweet and kind. You can tell by the staffs demeanor that they all care about their restaurant. It was the best lunch I had while in Dallas. The sad thing is now I have to go back home to Maine. Will be back soon and will definitely come by again.

Food, service and atmosphere were great. For Dallas this was pretty good for Louisiana style cuisine. Coming from the golden triangle area minutes from Louisiana I’m use to the real deal but this hit the spot for needing a hometown quick fix. The gumbo was excellent and fried oysters delicious. I gave it 4 stars only because I know the real stuff. I would feel ok recommending S&D to friends and family. Casual dining atmosphere with a New Orleans style vibe. The coleslaw is phenomenal.

Super cute little place. Oysters were great. Definitely the high light of the night. Super fresh. Cocktail sauce was good. Cole slaw was $4 for this little bowl, if you’re looking for a sweet coleslaw this is not it. Definitely a more maybe oniony flavor. But to each their own. Definitely not my cup of tea. Their beer is served ice cold and delightful. Sides are little pricey, but overall pretty well place to go especially for the oysters. Maybe skip the coleslaw though.

We celebrated our anniversary here and loved it! 1-1/2 dozen oysters went fast. We got the broiled flounder, and the shrimp and fried oyster plate. Both were delicious but the flounder is worth going out of your way for. Very fresh tasting and cooked perfectly! The wine was a healthy pour and the beers were in frosted mugs. The bread pudding was excellent and my pineapple sherbet was a refreshing finish to the meal.

My wife and I had raw oysters, seafood gumbo, broiled grouper, BBQ shrimps, and bread pudding. They all tasted superb and reasonably priced. I am very pleased with the experience.

Great seafood place in the middle of downtown Dallas. Great service and atmosphere. Food was perfect, small menu, but the items they have are done very well.

If you want as close as you can get to a true New Orleans experience in Dallas, this is probably it. The space and the servers are very fair replica of a classic French Quarter establishment. However, for me, the food is decent enough, but definitely doesn’t hold up to the real deal. Still a fun spot to grab a weekday lunch, though.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. It’s fantastic every time. Wonderful drinks, service and food! Top notch quality all around!

Very old-school Dallas institution. Creole flavors and gumbo are some of the best found outside of LA. There are a lot of fried and grilled fish specialties. And the apps are awesome. Price point is on the higher side but the food is quality.

S&D Oyster House is amazing and still after 40 years great food. Great oysters and shrimp on ice. Lemon pie is wonderful. Service is always spot on. Back room has the bar if you're alone.

S&D is one of those places that's never going to change. Amazingly themed decor makes me feel as though I went to New Orleans. The food was fine, I wasn't overly impressed. I saw a few other plates as well that didn't seem like anything crazy but who knows. I'm not sure if I'd come back.
