There is no other Italian restaurant that compares to the experience you will receive here. David and the entire staff of Nonna will take you on a culinary journey. Although your body doesn’t leave your seat, your taste buds explore the best parts of what Italy has to offer. We started with the prosciutto platter which had figs and freshly shaved Parmesan, we then followed that with the artichokes. These were the perfect starters. The white pizza with clams is so scrumptious. The pasta is all freshly made in house. There wasn’t a single bite that I wasn’t over the moon about. Perfection doesn’t fully articulate my experience. My expectations were high and everything was beyond what I could have even imagined. Thank you so much David and the entire staff!!

I want to give this place a raving review BUT we didn't feel very welcome when we first arrived. I don't know if it was because we didn't dress up real nice or we didn't seem like their target clientele. We had reservations to celebrate quitting our jobs to travel full-time (@PDGadventures) and we wanted a fine dining experience. We were sat at a table immediately but the server didn't come by to see us for about 15 min or more. Once he came by he didn't tell us about the menu and we really had to pull information out of him, while he seemed to give info freely to other tables. During conversation, Daniel told him we were out celebrating our early retirement and that's when the server warmed up to us. After that, service was good. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the tortellini- these are fresh, handmade pillows filled with cheese. The gnocchi was cut into cubes- different presentation but still delicious. The veal chop was wonderful. The wine selection was great and our server helped us find the perfect wine once I described what I was looking for. You can't go wrong with their desserts. Everything is beautifully prepared - like a delicate symphony of flavors dancing on your palette. I'm glad we celebrated here, even after the challenging start to our experience. (Please give me a thumbs up if you found this review helpful.)

Willy, our server, really warmed up as the night went on. We came as the last reservation of the night but were still greeted and treated as if it were early in the day. The flat bread was really good. Fresh & I loved how they used seasalt on top. They made adjustments to our order, but everything was still amazing.

We were so excited to return to Nonna after a 20 year gap. The reality was disappointing. The Cesar salad was wonderful with the addition of anchovies. The problem was the waiter was not happy to provide them. The entrees were so spicy (white clam pizza??) they were inedible. Our waiter did not struggle to hide his exasperation with us and was flat out rude by dessert. I expect poor service from Chili's but not Nonna.

Great food. Very small place, so make sure to make a reservation. The only negative was the service and I think it was only our server, who went AWOL for good 10 min a couple of times. The bruschetta was fantastic and unique, the anchovy flavor came through in a very good way. Lamb chops are another highlight. My pasta had big chunks of pork belly and it was also great. Rotating menu, which makes it more interesting. Definitely coming back and hoping to get another server

Our server was so professional and attentive. He explains all the menu and gives us good recommendations. We tried chef’s choice pasta samplers which we can try 5kinds of pasta. All of them are very distinctive and special. Each dishes is really flavorful. The lobster ravioli broth was deep and rich. The filling was reasonably well-filled and went well with it. For the cream pasta, they used spaghetti noodles that go well with thick sauce. For Vongole, they used noodles that can soak up the soup well. Each ingredient was arranged appropriately for each dish, making it a very enjoyable meal. The cocktails were good enough to go with, and the clam pizza was amazing. Since the pizza is made with seafood, it can get soggy, but it was very crispy and the clams themselves were moist and soft. The sauce on the pizza also went very well. Although foods are great, they are not ready to meet the customer at opening time. We made a reservation their opening time and even on the time we made a reservation they don’t open the door. Not just for our team other couples also just waiting in front of the door for a while. Once they opened it takes forever to assign the server. We can see a lot of staff working and glancing but only oner person in charge of greeting customers at the front.

Nonna’s is excellent in every regard. Great pizza, handmade pasta and amazing Brussel sprouts. Since my MIL splits her time between us and her hometown in Italy, eating Italian out is always a risk of disappointment. She is a fabulous cook who adorns our table with hot fresh prepared meats, pastas and veggies every night. Nonna’s in Dallas is very close to the meals she serves at home. We had artichoke, shared the hen and split two pastas. All were very delicious. Our server was excellent and attentive. We had a nice bottle of Italian wine. The restaurant is in a strip mall but do not be put off by its location. It’s very nicely appointed and cozy inside. I really enjoyed my evening and will visit again when I’m next in the Dallas area.

Nice place to come with friends for dinner. Our server David made the evening great. I do wish the menu would have a few simple items that do not contain rabbit, pork, or shellfish. How about a vegetarian pasta? How about a margarita pizza? We had a fun time and I would recommend this restaurant to all. 4 people $ 250: one bottle of wine, one salad, one pizza, three pasta dishes and one fish dish

When I selected 3 stars, that indicated that 'it's okay.' .... the salad was great. But for $16 it was very small. The shrimp pasta was mediocre and I needed a knife to cut the penne pasta. I liked that the pizza was thin, but you could Not detect any ingredients other than the burnt crust and the tore basil leaves. Our pizza was said to have eggplant, ricotta, etc. No distinction. Tab was $72 and sadly couldn't enjoy it.

I see from the last person’s post that Mary is the manager. I spoke with her tonight about reservations on Saturday at 5:30pm. She neglected to ask me if my husband and I are celebrating anything special, which we are. It’s our 30th anniversary. No, instead, she felt it extremely important to clarify (in verbose detail) that they needed ‘the table back’ by 7pm. That’s fine, actually, we’re unable to stay too long that evening anyway. But did she have to elaborate about the ‘clearing, sanitizing and preparation’ it will take to get the table ready for the next guests, arriving at 7:15pm. Nonna serves good Italian food, but they have no manners. That explanation should have been brief. It made me feel unwelcome. There are plenty of other wonderful restaurants in Dallas to choose from who would be grateful for our patronage.

I need to start by saying the food here is incredible. The pasta dish I had was one of the best I’ve ever tasted in my life. If I was rating solely off of food, Nonna is an easy 5/5. However the service brought it down just a notch, as well as the prix fixe menu required for our group of 7. Our server tried hard, but he just didn’t seem quite ready for the evening. Was unsure about the dishes when we asked him questions. I thought it odd for such a nice place. The atmosphere is really great here - if you are seated in the dining room with the pizza oven. We ended up in the bar next to the door that kept opening with a breeze. That was unpleasant. But will we be back? Absolutely. It was overall a very good experience. I just would not recommend bringing more than 4 people here at once. And I would also request a seasoned server. I imagine if we did those things Nonna would exceed all our expectations and be a favorite for years to come.

First time visit. The food was mouth watering. The wait staff was very knowledgeable about different wines and brought us a bottle that went perfectly with our meals. I highly recommend them but make reservations.

Beautiful spot for Italian food! We were greeted by very friendly hostesses, excellent at anticipating any need! Food was great. Overall, what really gets you in here is the beautiful, living ambiance and the delightful hostesses!

Still one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Dallas. Fresh pasta made every day, great wine selection, and a menu that changes all the time to ensure that the ingredients are as fresh as possible. Last night I had the tortellini with ricotta and peppers. Absolutely delicious. Very nice service as well. It’s small, so can be tough to get a reservation, but so worth it.

We had a wonderful experience. The service was perfectly, friendly and helpful without being overly solicitous. For the appetizers, the prosciutto and melon was a particular highlight. For our pasta, the chitarra was good, with just the right amount of heat. However, the capelletti was even better, with the ricotta and carmelized onion balancing the pasta. The snapper had an excellent crust. The quail was tasty, but perhaps a bit bland in comparison to the rest of the meal. Our peach crostini was excellent, though not a standout.

This is a high-end, smaller portion, delicious Italian place. I never would have guessed such a delicious Italian restaurant would be in this strip mall across the street from the Whole Foods and a highway intersection. From the outside, it’s unassuming. When you walk inside, the place is packed - it’s one of those hidden gems that you wouldn’t even know existed even if you drive by it all the time. A great date date or dinner with family/friends.
