To say I was more than disappointed is an understatement. I've had Afternoon Tea all over the world and this ranks in my bottom half. In 1 hours time I was served exactly 1 cup of tea. The waitress was very chatty but not great at making sure our tea flowed. I make better Tea sandwiches at home. They were very dry. Mostly tasteless. You wouldn't even know there was cucumber in the sandwich it was so sparse. The dessert was just average. Didn't even eat most of it. Scones were dry and tasteless. The worst part about the experience was they sat us in the lobby area, not even in the main tea room. So we had no ambiance of the actual French Room. It was terrible. And we had made reservations months and mo months in advance. For all the hype it's not worth the money!

By the grace of God himself, my girlfriend and I got a last-minute reservation through Resy for afternoon tea. We had such a fun time and loved the vibe/ambiance. The hostesses were super friendly (they validated our parking) and our servers, Pete and James, were great. I’m not a tea connoisseur by any means but I enjoyed the Oolong and Black tea they served. The tea cakes/pastries/scones and bottomless champagne were by far my favorites of the morning. Definitely recommend for a fun GNO!

For my wife's birthday, our family had the pleasure of experiencing high tea at The French Room in the historic Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas. The hotel's grandeur is evident in its ornate and finely decorated interior. The French Room itself exudes elegance, with its light-filled space, stunning chandeliers, and exquisite trim. The service was impeccable, showing attention to the smallest details. Our high tea comprised champagne, three different types of tea, a variety of carefully curated finger sandwiches, and a delightful dessert at the end. As the price leans toward the higher end, I see it as worthwhile for special occasions. Given the parking challenges downtown, I would recommend using the valet service, which is quite reasonably priced at a discounted $10. In summary, The French Room at the Adolphus Hotel comes with my highest recommendation.

Wow what a cool experience!!! I was in town for my birthday weekend and a friend sent this pop up bar to me called “Bar Lilly” located inside the French room at the hotel. This unique pop up features high end handcrafted cocktails with stunning floral vibes. The room had fresh flowers throughout and the vibe was really quite sultry. Perfect for a date night. The cocktails do each start around $20 so be sure you prepare for that, they do also offer beers and ciders if your opting for a less expensive and fancy drink. Additionally they serve small bites and appetizers if you get there early enough. **A cool tip is if you visit on Thursday between 5-11pm a local French band plays live in the parlor. The bar will only be around for 2 months however through June 2022. 🌷🌷🌷

I came here for Afternoon Tea for my birthday and while the Adolphus is a stunning hotel and the French Room is beautiful beyond belief, I have to confess I was a little underwhelmed…especially for the price. The savories were excellent, and I wish we had a bolder tea to stand against some of those flavors instead of the green persimmon we were served, but the rye with squash mousse and pickled onions was wonderful as was the truffle croissant egg salad. The only thing was that all the food (except the scones) had the look and texture of items prepped the night before or even earlier, so things that should have been crisp were chewy, and cremes/mousses had discolored a bit at the edges. Out of the pastries, the chocolate orange tartlet was outstanding, while the sticky toffee and peach crumble were far too sweet and lacked the depth of spice and caramelization I was expecting. My main complaint though is that the menu listed “English Double Cream” and jam to go with the scones and we were served a quenelle of what was very clearly ordinary whipped cream. As someone who adores cream tea, the lack of real clotted cream was really disappointing and frankly mystifying considering it was on the menu and can be found at Whole Foods or even World Market quite easily. I chose tea at the French Room specifically because they were one of the few places that listed it on their menu. Overall it was a nice afternoon but I certainly don’t think it was worth $75 a person plus $17 for parking. You’re paying much more for the atmosphere than the food.

Awesome way to spend a Sunday morning. We have been to many high teas and this was lovely. Service was great (Thanks Connie!!!). The caviar add-on is absolutely worth it. Champagne is tasty. Teas were very nice. As some noted, you don't choose your own teas. This doesn't bother me at all. I enjoyed having a pairing I didn't have to think about. We also liked that we didn't have to be in charge of steeping the tea ourselves. If I had any criticism, it is just that the dessert cakes were very sweet and there were just too many of them. With that said, they pair nicely with the tea, but we aren't big into sweets. When I'm in town next I'll keep that in mind when selecting a day to visit so I can take the extra back to my hotel room so they don't go to waste. Overall, we enjoyed it and it was a great ending to our Dallas trip.

Coming here for afternoon tea was such an amazing experience. The food was delicious and filling - not three course dinner filling, think a light lunch - with fantastically tasting tea and a beautiful environment. Our server was also kind and attentive. If you're looking for something special to do to celebrate an occasion or even just wanting to feel fancy for a day, this is the place to be.

Perfect spot to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday with my sisters. Service was great and food was even better than we expected! And of course, the tea we loved. Would definitely try to go back during the holidays. They had a live harpist playing as well.

This is a wonderful place for a high tea. The room is expansive and grand with 2 giant chandeliers, long and small tables for all party sizes. The decor is elegant and bright with plenty of natural light. My favorite part was the lobby which you do not need to have a reservation to visit. Super old school office/sitting room style with velvet couches/chairs, grand stairs and grand piano. The staff were very kind for the exception of one young waiter we had an issue with the amount of food we received vs. what we ordered. He argued with us about the number of trays as if we had hid one from him. Thankfully the staff noticed the fracture in the event and reassigned a new server who was so hospitable and kind. She saved the day. We planned a large 24 person party with a mix of adults and kids and it was magical. Everyone was so happy to be there. Hallie did great communicating with me throughout the planning process. Also, we worked with Byron for the floral arrangements and they were perfectly paired to our theme. The food was very good - my favorite were the cucumber sandwiches and the pineapple jellied dessert. Would love to come back someday.

The French room was a dream! I had 2 friends visiting from out of town and it was the perfect start to a fun girly day in Dallas! The finger sandwiches and salty bites were good, not great. The scones were buttery and perfect. The champagne was smooth and full. The teas were flavorful. And the desserts were all so good! Our server was so kind and everyone was accommodating to us arriving a little bit late! I will definitely be back, and I hope everyone gets to experience the French room at least once!

The restaurant is gorgeous, set inside the Adolphus hotel which is also very beautiful and offers valet service if you dine in the hotel. The restaurant has a large dining hall with lots of natural light, perfect for a special event or if your just in the mood for a fancy tea time with a relative or friend. Make sure to make a reservation and make it early, this place books weeks in advance. The meal was $65pp and included a glass of champagne, the tea time menu offerings and bottomless tea paired with your course. The service was on point and eveyone was supwr friendly and gracious. My only critique, and the reason for the 4 stars was due to a few of the savory menu options. The cucumber sandwich and the croissant with egg salad were both very stale, and the savory eclair was anything but, I couldnt eat them. It was clear that the food was not prepared fresh and that was a little disappointing for the price and experience we expected.

The high tea here is exceptional. Great for a special occasion or on a date. My wife loved it. The atmosphere alone is breathtaking and they even have a harpist that really sends the atmosphere over the top. Will come back.

Such a beautiful place, and the servers go above and beyond to make you feel special. The food was very good, especially the pineapple dessert. The tea and wine pairings were impressive as well. This place makes you feel transported into every little girl's dream. Lovely.

Service was impeccable and ambiance beautiful. We very much so enjoyed our afternoon there today, and the holiday decor made it extra special. The golden kaluga caviar was very nice as well. Very buttery. The low star reviews below are too funny. If you cannot afford to go, don’t go. Leaving them a bad review because you can’t afford it plus tip is unfair.

We took a friend here for her birthday and had a lovely time. The ambience is very intimate, and the service was excellent. I felt like I had an out of body experience when I ate the scones! They were absolutely worth the entire visit. All of the finger sandwiches and desserts were wonderful as well! The tea was also delicious, really appreciated that they explained the tea and what to drink it with.

I LOVED The French Room. Located inside the beautiful Adolphus hotel (which btw, is a beauty) I had the most amazing high tea experience. The ambiance was elegant, service was exceptional, and the food was delicious! I highly recommend The French Room for anyone whose looking for a cute and memorable tea experience!

The Adolphus is a lovely historic hotel located in downtown Dallas. I went to experience the history and enjoy afternoon tea at The French Room. It was very adequate, however I found it a little surprising at the lackluster ambience that was exhibited. The floral arrangement at the front desk was noticeably wilting and I have to say, the teas were not anything extraordinary as I would have expected. That being said, It is a pleasant experience that is definitely worth considering. The host and staff were very attentive. I recommend taking a walk around the hotel, it is worth seeing. Enjoy!

Absolutely gorgeous venue. The food was below our expectations, The server made a mistake and forgot one tier of sandwiches he argued with us in front of all of our guests (23 people) Like we were hiding a three tier serving tray. We were then assigned an additional server which they charged us for! She was fantastic. The venue was the best part. My Daughter purchased the floral arrangements as well. Be sure to get an email confirming all the pricing.

We did the afternoon tea. This place was awesome! The vibe, the live Harp player and the service. The unlimited tea paired with the food was good! Make your reservation and I hope you enjoy your Afternoon tea!

I took my 83 year old grandmother here for tea, she was tickled the entire time as she grew up in Dallas and would frequent the Adolphus with her friends and husband in her 20s! We walked the entire lobby/coffee shop/ rodeo bar/ French room areas as we reminisced on what they used to be before the renovation and ALL of the staff we encountered were so kind and go out of their way to point out original details that remain. Connie was our server at tea and she was fantastic, we had several other people refilling our drinks and they were incredibly pleasant as well. One young man brought out the tea package so she can buy them! Highly recommend.

I have to say this is the best place for high tea with your love one or girls day out. The atmosphere so relaxing, the service people are so friendly, I love the tea. This is a place that I would come back again with my daughter for a teatime.

We liked the food here. They don’t have that many selections to choose from but the quality of the food is great. The restaurant has a stunning decor that makes you feel you’re dining in the 18th century.
