Tonight was our first time to Sinshei and we totally loved it! The food was soo good with great and unique flavors. We had the Tempura Veggies, Brussel Sprouts, Hawaiian Sashimi, Dragon Lady Press, Lovers Roll, Coconut Chicken Jalapeno Poppers, and mashed potatoes (not what I expected at a sushi place, but it was so smooth and creamy, delicious!!)Everything was just soo good! Our waitress Shara was great in making suggestions and so helpful and attentive all evening! But make sure you reserve space for desert!! OMG - White Chocolate Brioche Bread Pudding with ice cream and the Chocolate Cake Spring Rolls with the Tempura bananas were to die for!! I think next time we go back, I have those for appetizers + desert 🤗

Since when Japanese Sushi has so many jalapeno in it? Dined at this place before and experience was excellent. Not so much this time around. The food we ordered almost all had jalapeno in it...Had there been an owner or chef change or something?

Looking for Asian fusion? Shinsei does it great. The popcorn shrimp to braised waygu to cod is delicious. I would pass on the sushi. I prefer more traditional sushi. The service team is great. The old fashion here is spot on.

Pretty delicious food, if I’m being honest. High price point though, and may keep me from coming back except for super special occasions. We came here for a friends birthday and ordered enough for folks to eat a somewhat decent meal, and no one paid less than $75. That feels steep to me, considering portion sizes, but maybe I’m not with the times. The food, however, was delicious, the service was excellent so I feel I got what I paid for.

A beautiful place, very luxurious and quiet. The best sushi in all of Dallas and I always want to go there. The attention is very warm and I like how the waiters treat people and how fast they serve the food.

Ehhhh... Missed the mark on this one. First time was solid because the Casamigas Old Fashioned had me in awe. But now it's impossible to duplicate. Upstairs was closed due to a private party, but maybe I just needed that same bartender. I surely would have ordered more than 1 this time. All good. I chose to see what the food was like and the brussel sprouts came out winning. The Thai Fried Rice was too sticky/mushy for my palette. The Salmon, they said wasn't bad, just wasn't perfect. Overcooked 😫 but the atmosphere is chilled and our waiter Casey was phenomenal. But try it out because maybe I just didn't order the right entree. Gosh, you cannot go wrong with edamame. Well you ce if that's overcooked too, but Shinsei didn't do to bad. Especially since trying the chocolate Spring rolls. Now that was different. Give me more of that and perfect rice and I'm happy.

A very nice semi-upscale Japanese Fusion Sushi restaurant. Brad was our server and he provided top notch service throughout the evening. The food was very well prepared and I would say it was very good. I wish I had taken more photos but the food was so delicious I didn’t waste any time eating it.

Went here for my son's graduation dinner last night. Quite noisy because of the loud piped-in music and everyone having to raise their voices in order to hear each other, and to order food. Dark ambience which makes the menu difficult to read. They were packed and quite busy being a Saturday. The server took a while to get our orders. Regular sized portions. Food arrived very quickly except for the Grilled beef tenderloin. We ordered Thai fried rice , Crispy beans, Shrimp tempura as well. All were well prepared and delicious with great umami. Highly recommended for special occasions.

The service was attentive and helpful. Food was as good as one could expect. The interior ambiance (and its very low ceiling height) was nice but not exceptional. From the exterior, despite its prime location; in my opinion, the building that houses this very popular restaurant ideally needs a highest-and-best-use tear-down and rebuild.

This place was great! I wanted a nice dinner for my friend visiting but that didn’t compromise on flavor, and this place was it! We got the volcano roll and it was so good we ordered another one, and we got the dragon lady roll and it was good too! Then for a main we got the jumbo scallops with the risotto and that was good too! Usually we don’t like risotto but this was good and they cooked all the scallops perfectly. Our server was Shara and she was very sweet! Loved her. The cotton candy with lights is also fun to eat. Would come here again. Also, their valet is complimentary which is a great pro!!

Really enjoyed sitting at the bar and eating all their tasty food. The ambience in here is great, although there were several parties around us and so it was a little louder than what we like. As a vegetarian I had limited options but I loved their avocado roll and their noodles, my date said that the sushi was fantastic and buttery

The service was very good and the staff is professional and knowledgeable. The food quality is excellent and they will customize your menu selections- all of it prepared fresh. A great choice for a quality sushi experience in the Dallas metroplex that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. They also have some non-sushi items on the menu as well. I’ll be back.

I really enjoyed eating here the other day. I wanted to try so many dishes! The server was so friendly and helped me with dinner recommendations. The purple rain roll and green goddess roll were delicious. The tuna with crispy rice was good as well but not made to be a sushi roll so just keep that in mind. The tempura cauliflower was surprisingly very good! The dipping Gochujang sauce was key with this dish. The ambience is very nice here as well. Perfect for a date night.

My husband and I enjoyed sitting at the sushi counter for our first dining experience here. Our waiter had the best timing for service: attentive, but not rushed. We started with the miso soup and house salad, followed by tempura vegetables and shrimp dumplings, ending with the rainbow roll and the shrimp tempura roll. Fresh, delicious and quality is how I would describe our items. BRAVO!

One of our go to Sushi places. Great take on sushi. It's not your traditional sushi place as they try amazing flavor combinations and textures that hit more than they miss. I recommend the omakase.

I absolutely love the sushi here! We ended up so full and happy. Our server was great but I felt like he would disappear after for a while. He gave us recommendations too which were perfect. Will be back!

A great place to dine in with family and a lot of vegetarian options. Portions were the right size too, not too small or too big. Desserts were fun and very different.
