So many picturesque spots, and it was way bigger than I thought it was going to be which I loved. We got a lot of steps in too! The chicken salad sandwich at lunch was delicious and make sure you check out the tasting pavilion by white rock lake area. They make delicious recipes for you to try each week. By the end of our visit, we left with a membership for two because your tickets get to go towards the membership. Can’t wait to come back very soon for the concerts and events!

I went there to celebrate my birthday recently and had a wonderful time! I love nature walks, so I really enjoyed it. Parking wasn't bad. The food is reasonably priced. This must really be a hot spot for quinceanera, prom and graduation photos! I will bring my daughter there for photo shoot this summer. It is also a great place for a day date! I enjoy taking photos of nature as well, so I had a field day with my camera! Enjoy the photos below!

This place is absolutely gorgeous! The plants, trees, and flowers are so beautiful and well kept. The statues are so pretty to look at and they make the garden seem more regal. My favorite things in the gardens had to be the waterfalls and water fountains. There’s also a great view of the lake and lots of great spots to picnic. I would definitely come back!

If you like flowers, you’ll love the Arboretum. In Springtime the tulips and hyacinths are so gorgeous and plentiful. There are many other flowers at this time but those really catch your eye. In the Fall they have the biggest display of pumpkins I have ever seen. The grandchildren love running around and taking in all the beauty and exploring the property. Great place to visit, no matter the seasonal.

Beautiful and relaxing gardens east of Dallas. The horticulturists just planted 500,000 bulbs which are blooming! The are miles of walking paths featuring many water fountains and seating areas. This garden is on White Rock Lake! It’s so peaceful and calming. This is a beautiful garden & arboretum. I recommend paying it a visit!

Beautiful garden. Tons of walking and paths to explore. The Christmas village was small but cute. The 12 days of Christmas were very cleverly done. We really enjoyed our time here and would be back again.

I’m visiting here for Christmas lights and it was very pretty. They decorated the whole arboretum as a shining place and each section has themes. 12 nights of Christmas is the main idea and they display with amazing musics! It’s quite hard to get the tickets. if you planned to see night lights, it’s better to reserve at least a week in advance.

Beautifully kept gardens, water features, paved walkways with lots of room to roam. Even some of the most popular areas weren't crowded. A great way to spend an afternoon. I encourage you to bring drinks and maybe a picnic lunch and a blanket to take advantage of the beautiful area to just relax and enjoy.

We went to the Holiday at the Arboretum celebration. It was amazing the work they put into the 12 days of Christmas scenes. As you walk around the park, you'll come across each one. They look like carousels, and they were moving presentations of each step. The holiday village was fun for kids. The historical house was beautiful with all the Christmas trees and the 600 Nutcrackers. I'd love to go back and see it at night!

More cultivated than other arboretums I've visited. The plant labels are a little sparse in my personal opinion, but if you're not a plant fanatic it's a lovely place to stroll and get cute photos with the kids. Bear in mind there's going to be crowds if you go for an event like the pumpkin patch. Plenty of food options as well. LOTS of iconic spots for special event photos. That also means you'll need to plan your visit and come early if you want to get to the best spots without competing.

This place was AMAZING!! We came here specifically for their pumpkin village, but absolutely loved roaming the rest of the grounds. I doubt we even covered everything (some things were unfortunately blocked off for weddings...and there were A LOT of weddings there that day (we counted 5, I'm sure there were more). They were getting their Christmas village and the 12 days of Christmas stuff set up when we went. Super bummed that we couldn't come back for those too, they looked great from what we could see!! There were a few scattered places to get food or drinks all throughout the park. We got lucky and stumbled upon a tasting event right as it was closing up! We got to taste fresh made coleslaw and home made ice cream. I can't remember what the flavors were, but both were DELICIOUS! *edit* it was grape ice cream and southern-style cabbage* I wish we could have ordered more! 😆 I have this place bookmarked for next time I go to Dallas. 100% returning here!

It took my new fiance and mother to this beautiful place by recommendations from my sister. We thoroughly enjoyed it, the weather was pretty good for that day and there was plenty of things to look at and enjoy. We wish there were more water fountains available is the only thing and maybe some misting fans. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the shade though and photo shoot opportunities. I give this place a four and a half Stars!!

This place is beautiful! Beyond the plants and nature you get to experience a wide variety of scenery and spaces. Even when surrounded by other people there is room for you to feel immersed in nature. Adore the walkways. Perfect for strollers and more throughout. Despite being hot there were multiple cool down locations eithing reasonable walking distance. Shade and water features also kept cool spots. My three month old was able to do great through the nearly 100F day with a fan and the cool down spots. Highly suggest packing your own cold waters in as well as snacks.

We enjoyed a delightful summer evening of music by the Coppertones at the Twilight Tuesday event. The gardens are lush and green. The beautifully landscaped flower beds are bursting in color. I highly recommend a visit!

Right now its cheap to visit, 5 dollars for an adult. Id recommend going. Otherwise its 20+ in spring. Great place to relax and spend the day. Id recommend parking near white rock lake to avoid parking fees. Also, bringing water bottles and picnic baskets with food is a great idea although they have some nice cafes and restaurants inside. Over all 2 to 3 hours enough for the visit.

My children and I visited the arboretum this afternoon to celebrate my son's birthday. The displays, fountains, gardens and views of White Rock lake are beautiful!!! Plenty of photo ops as well. It was extremely hot today, so I wore a hat to keep the sun off my face. I recommend you pack a snack/lunch and drinks, if you have little ones in order to save some money. It can get a bit pricey! I saw several families with their coolers and picnicking, there is plenty of space for that. I had a pecan chicken salad and a root beer float. The kids all had drinks. They really wanted smoothies, but they were all out. There are several locations to buy refreshments. They have several activities scheduled during the week and on the weekends. There is so much to see! I recommend you order your tickets online. We had a good time and plan to attend again during the holidays. ,👍👍

I felt like I'm in a dream for the time being in this beautiful garden. My interest in agronomy studies made this experience even more exciting for me! I really enjoyed the fish pond and the woman's garden. It was very thrilling yet relaxing! Would totally come back!

Beautiful place to walk around with lake view. We’ve always had good memories of this place. A really good picnic spot with family and friends. Great venues for weddings too. Make sure you come here on a good weather, when its not too hot and you’ll enjoy it. They’ve so many varieties of flowers with such detailed information. We learnt a lot from our visit. This place is also well equipped for wheelchair assistance and kid friendly.

Family centered, amazing, and wanting to come back over and over again. It is one of the most beautiful Christmas light displays in North Texas 😍. It is also gorgeous in spring and fall. You will be blessed with flowers and the scents. When you walk around the arboretum, you are surprised at how wonderful the whole garden is. Not only are you seeing, but you are also hearing and smelling the mother nature. There are a total of 12 themes. It is a family Christmas event, so bring your camera 📷. From small toddlers to loving grandparents, everyone is happy to be here. Make sure to wear warm clothes, because it gets cold at night. Avoid weekend nights because it gets extremely busy. It is also cheaper during weekday nights. Parking #4 is located on the opposite side of the arboretum. With the security personnel around everywhere, you and your family should feel safe. The only downside is the unbearable traffic on 635.

Took the family to see the 12 days of Christmas and Christmas Village. The kids had a great time, and there was a scavenger hunt in the village and seed packets to grow veggies. The 12 days of Christmas set up was huge and very pretty. The weather was amazing, which made the experience so much fun. We toured the house and saw the Nutcracker collection. There is a free cart ride if needed, which we took for a tour. The volunteer was really sweet and shared information about the grounds/history as we rode. The children's area was fun with Santa's little helper scavenger hunt with a prize at the end. The activities scheduled in the children's area are a great way to keep kids engaged all day. We will be back!

As someone visiting from out of town, this place was on my list to check out and did not disappoint! It was beautiful with a nice variety of themes and flowers. The pumpkin village was also really neat. I would recommend if anyone else is coming for Dallas and looking for something to do, to check it out. Going in the morning is better if the weather is hot as there is a fair amount of areas in the sun, but there are also a good amount of shady areas as well, which were nice. Overall, it took me around 1.5-2 hours to go through everything with the exception of the children's area.

My wife and I love this place. First time we went we were so impressed that we signed up to become members. My 4 yr old daughter enjoys their kids adventure area and the wife and I enjoy just walking around and taking in the nature. We plan to make visits once a month throughout the year to experience all the seasons. Everything is well maintained, people working there are all nice and they have a small giftshop too. Totally recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful garden, not really big but quiet vast. Sadly we arrived 1-2 weeks early from tulip bloom in there. They have outdoor café, picnic garden, near lake, and also amusement park. If this place also offer labyrinth garden, it would be awesome n romantic too.

While visiting Dallas my wife picked the Dallas Arboretum. I wasn't sure if we could utilize the entire half day at this location but I was wrong. We needed more than the time we had allotted. The gardens are well maintained and are creatively designed. We went during the Christmas celebration which was an additional bonus. Inside the Arboretum you will find some good restaurants. Food was quite good. Even on weekdays the restaurants/cafes were busy.

The Arboretum is such a great place to visit. Anytime we’re in Dallas we love to spend an afternoon here. It’s so well maintained and beautiful. Even when the place is packed you can find secluded spots to sit and enjoy nature. I recommend bringing a picnic lunch and finding a sunny spot to sit and enjoy being outdoors.

My visit to the Dallas Arboretum was absolutely wonderful! The pumpkin display was breathtaking, and we had such a great time exploring the beautiful gardens. The colors of autumn were in full bloom, and the atmosphere was so peaceful. A perfect way to spend a day with family and friends. We'll definitely be back for more seasonal delights!

The Arboretum and Botanical Garden is a place to take the family and enjoy the nice Texas weather. You can easily spend hours here and it can accommodate everyone. My favorite has to be their parking. My husband and I parked by the Children's Garden entrance and I love that they provide elevators and a covered walk under to get to the entrance. I don't like the limited signage at the entrance because depending on the time you may be waiting in a long line or the wrong line. I love that there are food and drink options available for purchase or you're welcome to pack a picnic and lounge on the grass. Entry to the children's garden is $3 more, and I feel it is so worth it. Depending on the age of your children, they will have plenty of games and activities for them to do. During my visit we enjoyed the Charlie Brown Exhibit, The Great Pumpkin. This exhibit is located in the back of the arboretum with plenty of opportunity for photos with your family. I highly suggest wearing comfortable shoes and packing a light jacket.

I adore visiting The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, especially in the fall -- my favorite season! If you enjoy pumpkins, gourds, mums, and all things fall, check it out! It is a fabulous display. You will not be disappointed! Highly recommend!

Overlooking scenic White Rock Lake, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is 66 acres of lush gardens to enjoy the beauty of all four seasons. The trees, the seasonal flowers, the ornamental shrubs, the different plant collections and the grass, everything is absolutely gorgeous with lots of water features. Even on sunny hot day, it feels cooler and you can enjoy as there is plenty of shades of the trees with many seating arrangements. There is lot of walking involved so better wear proper walking shoes. The Arboretum not only gives the relaxation and enjoyment, but it also gives an opportunity to learn horticulture and for education and research. The outdoor festivals, concerts and art shows also take place here including the private events like weddings etc. There are lots of photo opportunities to create lifelong memories. Since there are paved walkways everywhere, wheelchairs are easily accessible. It was not crowded also, so you can enjoy at your pace with your space. The parking charges in addition to the admission fees seem higher, otherwise everything was great! Must visit if you are in Dallas.

The botanical garden is well managed. All plants are well taken care of. You can find benches underneath tree to rest during this sweltering summer. Since the area is large either plan in staying for long time of visit about half section one day and other half any other day. Don’t forget to take water and snacks. The place is also good for photo sessions.

An AMAZING space! The plantings are inspired and the layout is really good. There are areas to picnic, sit quietly under a tree, admire the view of the lake. Good food options. Exceptional staff!! Seasonal plantings and events. Excellent for children, wide smooth paths for mobility-issue guests. Clean bathrooms, though they could use some more considering the size of the space and number of visitors.

Amazing and Beautiful Gardens! I had attended the Fall, Pumpkin Garden event and it was absolutely stunning. Over 100k pumpkins fill the gardens. The pumpkin patch area is HUGE! Using fairy tales they have decorated houses and areas that are sure to spark your childhood. It’s the PERFECT place to snap fall photos of young ones as well as couples and families! Definitely a MUST this autumn season!!!

I love this place, beautiful scenery. Perfect for pics and just to walk around, the infinity pool overlooking White Rock Lake is gorgeous. They had two huge peacock shaped bushes with tail being flowers planted on ground, those are beautiful. Go for pics or just to enjoy a picnic or read a book in the many shady areas and take in the beauty of nature.

My husband and I went during the Christmas event this year (2023) and had a blast! We walked through the plants and discovered so many and their names along with gorgeous Christmas decor. The 12 Days of Christmas set ups blew us away. Take a water and your camera and just explore!

I've visited here several times over the years. I love coming for the Autumn at the Arboretum event. The fall foliage is beautiful! I love the pumpkin displays as well. We visited the last weekend of the event, so there weren't as many pumpkins out. I suggest if you visit for this event specifically come earlier in the fall, like early to mid-October.

Loved it! One of the best Christmas walk through light shows I've seen. Really impressed with the 12 Days of Christmas gazebos which are expertly crafted and mesmerizing. The Dazzling Musical Tree will not disappoint either! Don't miss out on the bratwurst on a stick and warm pretzels from the Tavern in the Village!

It’s been 2 years since I’ve been to pumpkin village and it was adorable! Charlie Brown theme and super cute! We went on a weekday and would recommend buying tickets online beforehand (at the entrance you had to scan a QR code to buy tickets, saved a little time). They give free tours in the cart, our tour guide was named Don he was very nice and explained to us the different plants and pumpkins during the ride. He even stopped for us to get some cool photos! Also told us there is events like concerts and showed us time and dates on the guide! Such a great festivity for fall!

The pumpkin village was a huge hit for our grandchildren. We decided to go with an annual membership this time because we plan to come back more often since we're retired. My husband loves plants and we're especially interested in native, drought resistant plants to have around the house. We're looking forward to more inspirations.

Wow what a beautiful... beautiful place. The grounds are full of flowers, trees, water, and waterfalls. Birds, squirrels, and bunnies. So much life here. If I can give any advice on this place. .even if you are an avid walker take the tram (golf cart) they are full of so much information about the property. Which we loved. They have a little cafe there and so many places to take amazing photos or to schedule professional photos. We wished we had another hour to walk to the grounds. So make sure you give yourself plenty of time to go through it all, it's pretty big. They have four parking lots as well so be sure to look on Google to see the right one. We parked in four which is a parking structure. Parking lot one is the best if not full. Less walk.

We went today and while I will admit this location is extremely beautiful there were many flowers that couldn’t withstand the Texas heat and were withering or dead. There’s lots of places to stop for sitting which is nice. Two locations to eat (neither are cheap by any means for the amount of food you get). The souvenir shop has a variety of items. Our favorite item from the shop was the t-shirts that are color shows when in the sun. Multiple waterfall areas and little rivers throughout. Wednesday was buy 1 get 1 free. There is a fee for parking in their lot as well. Apparently this July tickets will be $5 per person as well which is a great price as regular adult pricing is $16 a person.

Beautiful and huge botanical garden! Dining options available inside along with plenty of picturesque picnic spots. For an additional fee, you can also enter the Children's Adventure garden. While it says "Children", I wouldn't skip this large section of the park! The interactive parts of the park and cool features were fun to play with, and our group of 3 adults agreed the extra fee was worth it.

Have lived in DFW for almost a decade and finally decided to go here. Absolutely stunning, well thought out, varied and very beautiful. They have lights on many of the trees, as well as special Christmas displays which were very well done.My only criticism is I think $16 for parking is excessive.

Beautiful 🎄 Christmas decorations and holiday feel. The 12 days of Christmas theme is awesome!! The grounds are beautiful, even had plenty of greenery in the winter. Plenty of places for children, families, adults and those needing wheelchair access to find peace and enjoy the day out. Amazing photo Ops at every turn.

A fun outdoor activity to get you in the holiday mood. The holiday decor and music at 12 days of Christmas area is really beautiful. They also take great care of the facility and it really shows. I’ve gone here with my husband on one occasion and a group of girl friends on another and we’ve had a blast each time. I highly recommend going to their cafe to order hot cocoa. I’ve had the Mexican hot chocolate and mint hot chocolate and they were both great. They also have almond milk which is a plus. I also suggest purchasing tickets and parking pass before you go since they can sell out during peak times on the weekend.

Beautiful place to enjoy an early morning walk or late afternoon stroll. Many areas to sit and rest. They even have a couple of mist areas. We mostly enjoy the arboretum the most during November, and December but do enjoy a couple of visits during the summer month. A family membership is not bad for the year. Multiple parking lots, we have even ridden our bicycles since we live in the White Rock Area. We parked our bikes near the entrance.

I’ve been twice now to the arboretum (during different seasons) and it was so much fun both times. There are so many great photography spots, and the best part to me was how different it was between visits. It was just as interesting to walk through the second time as it was the first. I’d highly recommend anyone to visit, even if you’ve been before, to check out whatever festival is going on.

Definitely coming back for Spring to see the cherry blossoms bloom!! I got some souvenirs and the drinks were to die for they were delicious, so refreshing. Everything was beautiful i loved that every plant had a sign of what it was. Also saw some people planning weddings and it really is a beautiful place for a ceremony and pictures.

I visited during summer, the heat was palpable, but the shaded areas and water stations provided a welcomed respite, enabling us to comfortably explore. While some garden patches felt the strain of summer, the dedication of the gardeners was evident in their relentless efforts to keep the environment alive and flourishing. The staff were notably outstanding. Their friendly demeanor and readiness to assist significantly enhanced our visit. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time, and the picturesque grassy area by the lake left us yearning to return with a picnic basket in tow. I’m keen to witness the arboretum’s transformation across various seasons. For those considering a visit during the summer months, I’d advise procuring tickets and parking ahead of time. And don’t forget to wear a hat and hydrate!

Been there a few times and it’s lovely, during spring you will enjoy the gardens and their beautiful flowers. In the summer white rock lakes has gorgeous views from the hill next to the amphitheater. Beautiful Gardens! Huge amounts of space for kids and photos. Bring extra water because it does get hot fast and the breeze seem almost non existent. We will be returning for the fall/winter days for sure! (Discounted August day rates $3 and parking for $6)

Adding another 5-star review to an already highly-rated place might seem redundant, but I couldn't resist sharing my praise too. I've been to this charming local storybook park multiple times – once for a pumpkin season jazz concert on the lawn, and another time at the tea house during the holidays. On both occasions, I was filled with immense joy and a fairytale-like feeling. I'm grateful for this little oasis situated not far from the city.

It's a beautiful place and very wonderful in May. Went on a nice and sunny day and walked around with a friend who was visiting Dallas. It's a nice place to take pictures, reflect, and take in the natural sounds of nature and experience the beauty. Being a creative person, I felt that this place got my creative juices flowing. Zenful energy for sure. The attendants of the garden were helpful and informative. I highly recommend coming here for positive vibes.

I am a university student studying landscape design, and I was absolutely blown away by the gardens here. We went in mid May when everything was in bloom, and I was thoroughly impressed by the colors and layout of the arboretum. We wandered around the countless paths for over an hour and a half, and there were still plenty more areas we could have explored. Everything was extremely well-maintained and there were helpful labels for almost every plant. Well worth the price, I highly recommend visiting.

This place is always so beautiful! I had a lovely day with my mom there recently but have gone many times. Last time we went there we're a bunch of vendors there and I purchased a really pretty Japanese style tea set. The prices are decent, they get you in easily, and parking has never been a hassle when I've gone. They have restaurants and stuff too (I believe a high tea room as well). So you can definitely spend the day there. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place to visit and unwind, learn about plants and gardening. Very organized and well kept and busy during the day Thursday-Sunday. Mornings are great time to come. Yearly pass is worth it even recommended if you live close by or think you’ll visit more than 2-3 times a year, parking included in the pass also as a member you get discounts on events and other services. Almost every Thursday they have a concert or an event (tickets go quick on their website). It takes place on the field overlooking the white rock lake which is very pretty.
