My favorite museum in Dallas! Nice setting and ambience, not too big, lots of pieces in a smaller but upscale place with good lighting and piece history. There were people working there who will answer questions about exhibit pieces. The pieces were really extraordinary too! Lovely museum of art from all over Asia with a broad variety of mediums on display. All eras , ancient to contemporary. Even some old structures and doors on display. Oh and not to mention that entry is totally free!

This museum is free. It took us a little over an hour to go through but it was a lot of fun and so many awesome things to look at.

A small, quiet and cool free museum of Asian art in the heart of Dallas. There's a lot of different pieces from pottery to tapestries and pot hangers, things you've never considered as art but are. I enjoyed all the Japanese tapestries and explanations provided.

The museum is free, but you can give a donation to the front desk at the main entrance. There is a clear box built into the reception desk lined with yen and yuan and there is a slot at the top where you can insert your donation. It's a beautiful place to visit.

Lots of exhibits closed when we went so it was a short experience. We enjoyed the Chinese minerals displays. Other displays were somewhat sparse but fine considering it's free.

Free Museum since I'm a Dallas resident. Not many artifacts that are really old. Most are 1700-1800s it seems. Blew through the exhibit in 15min. Wish they had more and older artifacts.

The museum is quite small but also free! Every time I have visited, they always have something new. Occasionally some people will host events there. I attended this Batik workshop and Indonesian fashion show. All they ask from you is that you check you large bags in, and that you provide them with a zip code.

Even if you have no interest in decorative Japanese arts, you should come just for the amazing architecture of this museum. And if, like me, you love Asian arts and architecture, you’ll be in heaven! The unique design of this museum only highlights its wonderful assembly of items. Each is well labeled so you know exactly what you’re looking at. The collection has pieces dating from the beginning of pottery in Japan to modern day. There’s also wood, metal, and fabric arts represented. And it’s free. There’s no reason not to go!

Extraordinary museum, exhibits change, when I was there in Sept 2022 they included a collection of Vishnu statues, raw minerals from Chinese mines, and swords/knives/jewelry from Mughal era India. Fantastic Photos Copyright Scott McKinney 2022

A superb collection that you just have to experience in person. Words can't adequately describe the incredible things human beings made with their hands thousands of years ago.

Amazing free museum with wonderful staff. This small museum is amazing and always has some of the most beautiful and unique exhibits on display. Myself and my girls, both under 10 enjoyed it very much. Some people may be underwhelmed comparing it large museums like the DMA but this intimate setting is amazing to really get a close look at the art on display. We were in for the Divine Spark: Kana Harada exbit as well as the Born of Fire: Contemporary Japanese Women Ceramic Artists exibit and my girls enjoyed them both so very much. The front receptionist was so very kind, offered free masks and even gave a bag check for our belongs to not carry them through out the museum. I appreciate how kind all of the staff were and the art was beautiful as always. I love coming here once or twice a year to see the changing exsibits. Amazing display of Asian Art.

Very nice and small museum, best that it’s free to go in and check out! I wouldn’t come out of my way for this because it is done so quickly, I spent about 15-20 mins inside reading almost every placard and looking at each piece. Come check out the other areas in the art district

The Crow Museum in Dallas is an enchanting destination that offers an immersive experience into the rich tapestry of Asian art and culture. Nestled in the heart of the city, this gem of a museum captivates visitors with its diverse collection, engaging exhibits, and serene ambiance. Having recently visited, I found myself thoroughly impressed by the museum's offerings. One of the most striking aspects of the Crow Museum is its collection of Asian art. Spanning centuries and encompassing a wide range of mediums, the pieces on display showcase the beauty, intricacy, and diversity of the continent's artistic traditions. From delicate porcelain and breathtaking calligraphy to vibrant paintings and awe-inspiring sculptures, every corner of the museum is adorned with treasures waiting to be discovered.

Lots of really interesting exhibits from various asian cultutres. It was under renovation or else the exhibits would be much longer. Speaking with the staff they expect renovation to be complete around late April or early May.

An absolutely exquisite free museum with a collection from Japan with Meiji pottery and textiles when we visited. So divine and we saw so many pottery including kintsugi pieces.

From the darkest depths of the fragile crust on which we eke out our existence the most beautiful objects have bloomed. To stumble upon such unexpected objects must be revolutionary for the mind, that nature can create such things cements it glory and makes you question its consciousness. Of course I’m talking of the crystal exhibit. Similar feelings are evoked by the intricate man mad objects on display.

I deeply enjoyed the Montgomery Collection showcased currently at the Crow museum of Asian Art. The ceramic pieces were exquisite and the painted war screens were larger than life.
