Really enjoyed my tour with Angie. She was so sweet and knowledgeable about the buildings. The ticket area, general store, saloon, donkey area, and Sellerman house representatives were also so kind. Manuel at the Dog run house was also knowledgeable and friendly. It was fun watching the rooster follow him around. There is so much to see here...I recommend you spend the day and relax and take in the good vibes. Bring good walking shoes and support this not so little gem!

We went to Old City Park as a "time filler," really not expecting much. I was glad that I was wrong, we spent a couple of hours here and would recommend it to anyone. The history behind these places and the snippets of info that tie larger parts of history to it are fascinating......and it's free!!! The actors there in dress, explaining certain buildings were entertaining as well. Unfortunately it sounds like the future of this place is in limbo and may not be around too much longer due to money concerns. Visit while you can.

I discovered the place in the last minute and I didn't regret of going there. At the beginning I thought that it was expensive but the village has too much to offer. Everything is well conserved and the village is amazing, even more we were able to saw everything without a lot of tourists. It was great having a lot of space for us but I honestly recommend that place!

Plenty fun. Many barn animals. Beautiful greenery. Nice water fountain in the middle of their village which included a blacksmith, train, church, dentist, Train and much more. restrooms through out the property and everything is suited for strollers and wheelchairs. My son loved running loose here, large space for it.

I am visiting from overseas and this is one of the best things to do in Dallas. So many old buildings to explore and interesting stories to learn about. You can find Gene down by the blacksmith shed. He was an awesome guy and great guide who ran me through the history of Texas, Dallas and all the buildings there. We even fed the sheep out the back. Would be a shame to lose this place with the contract expiring soon. Please save this park for future generations to enjoy.

For $6 children's ticks and $10 adult's tickets, I would highly recommend checking out the Dallas Heritage Village. This outdoor museum is a collection of historic houses significant to the creation of Dallas and is a beautifully preserved relic of what life was like decades ago. There are some residential building which are fun to walk through to see the different decorational styles that were popular back in the day and it's fun to imagine yourself living in these homes. The residential homes vary in age so you can see how technological advancements changed the way people lived their lives. Unfortunately, all the homes are from affluent families so we're unable to see what normal people lived like back then. There are also several commercial or culturally relevant building on site which are beautifully preserved to show what life was like back then. There is detailed information on what functions these building may have served back then and how the community may have gone around interaction with each other in their walls. There is also interested information on how Dallas grew to be the size it is today. There is also a functioning salon with drinks and a functional general store which has gift shop items available for purchase. They asked all guests to wear masks whenever indoors but allowed visitors to remove masks when outdoors. No vaccination statuses were checked and all staff wore masks.

I really liked going here, it’s amazing to this the old Texas so close to downtown. Fantastic people work here and in every house there is somebody that can explain all about the building history. Would highly recommend!

This park was so much fun and it’s FREE! I love history and learning about the beginnings of places that I visit. This was a full town where you can take a walk through history and really immerse yourself in the full experience. They had a bank, a saloon, a farm home and a hotel. What was nice too, was there were signs and people that were able to give the history of the park and the history of Dallas. It was also a wow that the buildings were not replicas but were moved there to re-create the beginnings of Dallas.

We went here because it was included in our pogo pass and with least expectations. But we loved the concept, the history in each building they setup, the area with lot of trees and shade. It is no more included in pogo pass and is free entry and they are runing on donations. It is a gem in the middle of the city that needs to be preserved.

We had a good time here exploring all the old buildings and the stories behind. Definitely beyond our expectations and it’s free to visit. There is a free parking lot nearby. When we visited, there were some volunteers dressed in vintage clothes telling people stories about the building. And there will be public events sometimes just check their website. Overall it’s a quiet and fun place to visit!

We had a really great time exploring the village. It wasn’t busy and we were able to see everything. Lots of farm animals and staff were in period attire. It was super fun even for two adults!

What an amazing place to visit! Lots of great Texas history in one spot. Amazing to be able to explore inside the properties and see actual things that date as far back as the 1800’s. The staff onsite are super friendly and informative. A must see for all ages! We highly recommend.

This is such an adorable park! What a great way to spend the day (when it's not freezing or blazing out). This park also offers blacksmithing classes, which is what brought me here in the first place! What an amazing experience! John was the best instructor and was extremely helpful when showing us how to use a coal forge! I highly recommend visiting!!

We attended the candle light event and it was amazing. So much history and it feels as if you are in another era even though you are feet away from downtown. Everyone should go at least once.

I was here for the Spectre Haunted Tour on the last Thursday of the month. It is a nighttime event. SO MUCH FUN. Great during the day for families. This living history museum is a step back in time to the founding of Dallas through the turn of the early 20th century. On the grounds of Old City Park and overlooking Downtown Dallas it's a great way to spend a day. Pack a picnic lunch.

We went on Labor Day. Houses were all locked and no park workers except the security guard. Pretty much walked through the park, looked in the windows of the old houses and read the historical plaques. Definitely interesting to history buffs but would have enjoyed it more if we had been able to go inside the houses.

An enjoyable afternoon walking through history. I loved being able to walk into most of the buildings and there were people placed throughout the park to answer questions.

Very nice place. The employees of the park are very kind and played their roles well as local residents of the past.

Glad we stopped in ! What a blast from the past! Loved to stroll around the old buildings belonging to the Victorian era. Loved feeding the rooster too.

It was a pleasant experience this last Sunday. For a limited time, entry is free with the opportunity to enjoy the whole park! Take great pictures and for a moment, feel like you were living in the 1800!

Learned about the history of the area. There were volunteers in costume explaining the particular buildings. Super cool 😎 to see. Do a self guided tour or rent a headset for an audio tour. We went on a Saturday morning and there was not a lot of people in the park.

Old City Park in Dallas is a beautiful and historic place to visit. It's a well-preserved glimpse into Dallas's past, with its vintage buildings and serene green spaces. Whether you're interested in history or just looking for a peaceful place to stroll, Old City Park is worth a visit.

Didn't mean to go there. The address given to me was WAY off. At least 1.5 miles off. I'm calling him up to find out if he lived in the middle of a park. He's getting pissed with me cause he thinks I'm some idiot who can't follow directions from Google maps. But the place (which was closed) looked cool. I definitely would like to see it when open.

I love historic towns, loves all the details and peacefulness, but this place was a bit run down. I feel like maintenance was not there. I also had lots of concerns about heavy metals such as lead in chipping paints everywhere, so I wouldn't recommend to bring children here who puts their fingers in mouths. Overall, it could be a great place for a solo walking, brings out some thoughts.
