A really great and standout cafe in Preston. I came here in the morning with my partner for breakfast and coffee. Im usually a person that has my coffees warm, to which my request was met with a very appreciated and knowledgeable explanation - they heat their milk to 60 degrees which is just got enough and the optimal temperature. The care and effort they put into their coffee is reflected in their food as well. The food is absolutely delicious and is paired with very warm staff and a welcoming environment. They also raise money for a great cause. Overall I love this cafe, would recommend it to anyone in the area and will consistently be back

Nice little cafe with a few outdoor seating. The menu is good however the delivery/taste although ok is just not quite up there yet. The service was slow but once we were served it was friendly and the slowness was overlooked. The decor was dark but interesting. The coffee was also good. #goodcoffee

This was certainly the best big breakfast I've had in a long time and maybe the best ever. Perfect mix of crispy bacon, soft haloumi and everything else in between including a twist with little cheese kranskys. Very nice coffee and fresh juice. Classic joint.

The staff are friendly and give prompt sercive. There are ample seating inside and outside of this place. Coffee has a great taste (smooth and creamy, not burnt milk or coffe). Also has a good selection of cold soft drinks. Food is well displayed.

Cute little cafe to have brunch at. Service is excellent. Food is pretty okay but most satisfaction comes seeing all the bear art and donations made to save bears on the wall. 🐻

Old fashion homemade burgers. Very cheap just $8 but average taste. The chips wasn’t bad and the coffee was good. Not great atmosphere. Ran by Asian family. Good service. Not really my cup of tea though as I think the overall environment can improve.

Excellent breakfast (scrambled eggs, smashed avo and pickles on sourdough). Fresh squeezed orange juice was nice. Their croissants are delicious, best in town.

Such a nice simple ambience with outstanding coffee & delicious food. Had a flatwhite & Florentine Benedict with added salmon. Highly recommended, definitely coming back.

Brown bear staff were so warm and kind and attentive to detail, it makes all the difference when going to a cafe that the staff are incredible. The almond croissant I ordered was humongous and absolutely delicious and so was the breakfast we had. No nonsense good eating cafe!!

A nice little warm cafe with great coffee and breakfast good customer service although it could be improved.. working on serving customers waiting to order... Definitely should have more options for vegetarians who like their scrambled eggs on a different pan but overall not bad

Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff with great coffee well suited to a cappuccino (5 senses, dark horse blend). And a very impressive burger that was extremely fresh, cooked perfectly and most importantly (for me) didn't use the abomination of oil and butter that is brioche!

Relaxed calm cafe with bloody good coffee and food. Only gripe is the wait time for food, but worth the wait. Music is indeed quiet and pleasant so conversation is quite welcome. I recommend the Canadian french toast 😁

Unpretentious looking place that focuses on quality preparation of drinks and dishes. Coffee was excellent, orange juice was freshly squeezed and porridge was perfect. Also seems to be popular with local tradies judging by the number of them who came in and we obviously long term customers. The cafe owners also donate to a foundation to rescue brown bears from medicinal abuse in Vietnam and China.

I had the souvlaki, very tasty and tender. My friend had the florentine, with bacon. They said it was the best florentine they have ever had. V friendly staff. Supporting the Brown Bears is a worthy charity which benefits from the cafe. Coffee was premium standard. Wheelchair accessible.

Found the Brown Bear Cafe on google - after staying in Melbourne for a concert. Expectations were low - but WOW were we surprised! The service, coffee and food were out of this world amazing! The home made relish was the best we have ever had. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. What a little gem!
