90
minutes
of
my
life
I
won't
get
back
thanks
to
Ted's
Melbourne.
I
tried
to
buy
a
Fujifilm
lens
from
Ted's
last
week
-
I
saw
the
lens
was
in
stock
and
on-sale
at
Camera
Electronic
in
Perth,
but
thought
I
would
try
to
support
the
local
shop.
I
sent
an
email
to
the
Melbourne
store
just
asking
if
they
had
stock
(it
was
showing
as
special
order
online
but
potentially
in
stock
in
Melbourne),
but
got
no
reply.
I
followed
up
a
few
days
later
with
the
web
chat
team
who
said
it
was
in-stock
and
they
could
arrange
a
price
match
in-store
-
and
they
had
even
put
it
aside
under
my
name.
Great!
So,
I
drove
into
the
city
(40
minutes
each
way),
paid
for
tolls
and
parking,
walked
into
the
store
and
waited
in
line
for
about
five
minutes
to
be
served.
The
salesperson
couldn't
put
the
sale
through,
and
had
to
get
the
manager
over
(more
waiting),
and
then
I
was
subjected
to
the
dreaded
phone
convo
with
head
office
(Manager
to
office:
"Are
you
price
matching
?
Oh,
only
if
you
have
to...
*chuckles*...")
-
honestly
made
me
feel
like
ick
and
was
a
massive
reminder
why
I
hate
setting
foot
in
camera
shops.
I
waited
around
for
another
five
minutes
only
to
be
told
they
couldn't
price
match
with
Camera
Electronic
because
it
was
-1.3%
below
their
cost
(but
they
would
sell
it
to
me
for
$50
more,
price
matched
with
Digidirect).
So,
yeah,
maybe
just
let
me
know
online
that
that's
the
case
before
I
drive
into
the
city,
and
don't
advertise
a
price
match
policy
on
your
site.
Honestly
I
probably
would
have
been
happy
to
pay
the
difference
in
normal
circumstances
to
support
a
physical
shop,
but
the
whole
exchange
-
from
store
experience,
the
phone
convo,
to
the
fact
that
my
time
and
business
was
absolutely
not
valued
-
made
me
just
walk
out
the
door,
and
30
seconds
later
the
the
lens
was
ordered
from
Camera
Electronic.
A
massive
waste
of
my
day
and
definitely
burned
any
chance
I'd
shop
with
Ted's
in
the
future.
Granted,
you
would
have
taken
a
$15
loss
on
the
sale,
but
I
spent
~$25
on
petrol
/
parking
/
tolls
and
90
minutes
of
my
time
because
of
your
mistake.
As
a
working
photographer
I
spend
quite
a
bit
on
gear
and
accessories
each
year
as
part
of
the
job
-
never
again
with
Ted's
Melbourne
though.
Thanks
team!
