I have been a member of this gym for nearly a year. It is ENORMOUS and extremely well equipped and I love it, but there are a couple of things that I feel need to be addressed. Firstly there is always broken equipment. I have been training pretty much my entire life and I have never broken a piece of gym equipment. I can only assume that the equipment (most cable machines) are being broken by kids who have absolutely no idea how to use it, or have so little respect for anyone else's property that they don't care. The gym has CCTV so I would suggest finding out who breaks this equipment and charge them the cost of repairing it. There needs to be some accountability for their actions. Secondly the changing rooms , although cleaned on a regular basis are still disgusting. Water bottles, clothing, towels, locker doors broken, garbage everywhere and filthy toilets, again, used by people who have zero respect for another person's property. The changing rooms get cleaned, I've seen them being cleaned, but early morning after the late night gym goers have been in is when they're at their worst. For a gym that's a little over a year old more attention to maintaining it and keeping it clear is needed, especially the showers which are in need of a very thorough clean Also a posing room would be nice, as there is nowhere to take decent progress photos. After posting this review and getting a response about the various aspects I made comments on, and how they take criticism very seriously, absolutely nothing has changed, the same equipment is still broken. Don't respond if you can't back up your response

Horrible gym service, gym staff. The gym equipment is always in use you have to wait Ages just to get a pair of dumbells. Dont fall for this scam they have a cheap member ship for a reason! It's to attract more and more people to this gym and then the moment you buy it you will regret it. Gets super busy this is why you shouldn't go to a cheap gym. You get what you pay for...

Amazing gym but front checkout girl was really rude. Was speaking very polite to them and got completely ignored by her arrogance. This was the least accompanying compared to the other Derrimut gyms I’ve attended.

Gym is just brilliant and great people around. The music though! It's like being at a music festival! It's way too loud.. even wearing noise cancelling earphones. Fix the music situation or pay for new ear drums for members. Ps not everyone wants to listen to loud gangster hip hop on a Sunday morning at 7am.

Such a massive gym. Plenty of gym equipment. Very updated and Clean. No judgment. The store is packed full of sales. Highly recommend this place Great motivation

Great new gym with all the amenities one should need. Good retail store, large open gym with lots of machines and weights. Love the indoor rock climbing area as well Great climate control given the recent weather... Good general vibe. Great overall gym💪

I am deeply concerned about the lack of air conditioning in the women's workout room. Despite my repeated attempts to report the issue, no action has been taken. This is unacceptable, as the scorching heat can lead to dangerous situations, especially when there are many people in a small space. Just the other day, there were 18 people crammed into the room, working out in unbearable conditions. It is imperative that this issue is addressed immediately to avoid any potential incidents.

Best gym around the area and also membership prices are decent when theres a special, the gym is very big and good atmosphere and the music is good but only on weekdays, the only problem i face with the gym is the amount of people that there is on the weekdays is craaazzy, cant even get a cable its literally impossible or anything but ofc they cant do anything about it just saying. Overall great gym i recommend this place.

Probably one of the best gyms in Melbourne, great equipments, great facilities. The lads at the front counter, top blokes, great service. The ladies, you need to learn some customer service. 2 encounters since lockdowns lifted, I’ve had no greetings, no eye contact or even a smile, when purchasing something. Also, my partner telling me there’s been guys coming into the females only area. That needs to stop. Guys at the counter knows but still keeps happening. Let’s make this the no.1 gym. Cheers.

I went to the gym today to check it out & was really blown away. It’s like a little world of its own. There are so many different areas heaps of equipment you could actually get lost. The staff members are constantly dusting-cleaning making sure everything is in order also it’s not like they’re just doing it to look busy they are actually actively reaching up bending down to get into every nook and cranny. The vibe is really laid back and calm, nice music & ambience. I can’t wait to start training here, good job guys 👍

I went to do a casual session and was told they don't accept cash. Good facilities but a lot of equipment broken especially in the female area, only a couple of good cables working. They play great music in here and have a great shop. The shop and casual entry fee are priced way too high. Great customer service

Key experiences from my 13 months membership with Derrimut. $288 for 12 months is not only the cost, it adds up over a $100 settlement fee which will be every year, which means over $400 per year minimum. You'll need to pay settlement fee every year when you try to pay upfront. Worst thing is, most of the equipments are broken and takes ages to get them fixed. Staff is always here with their fake smile and little script because they don't care if someone walks away due to their behaviour, they are doing as they are told to do. They will never bother to show around to the new members and most of the people in the gym do not know if they should wipe the equipments after they use because they have paid the money and have been let free to discover. Lol Sometime you'll need to finish complete your workout at another gym because of limited equipments and more people. You can't only rely on Derrimut you'll need to have a 2nd gym membership parallel. Would recommend Anytime Fitness over Derrimut as they have enough standard equipments, keep educating people and will show you around on the joining and they may offer you few training sessions for if you are new. Probably The best gym on the northside great indoor temperature not freezing and the best variety of Gym equipment! Gps chiros physios and psychiatrists WONT work if you dont put in some work yourself first!

Great gym, air con was on without having to ask for it to be turned on. Crazy amount of equipment. Kept relatively clean for a busy gym. Only thing that could improve is the lockers in the changerooms are mostly broken, if they all worked it’d be 5 stars

Been a member since it first opened, and feel like it’s been my second home ever since. All the facilities you can ask for. Great ambience and atmosphere. Would recommend if your looking for a 5 star gym in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne.

Broken lockers at the change room, many exercise machines out of service, too busy , If you go from 5-9:pm, good luck. You have to wait in line. I go there because it's 5 minutes drive from where I live other wise I wouldn't go there even if it's free.

This place is a sespool, the pits. Overcrowded and usually not very clean, especially the bathroons. Broken lockers. Equipment is all over the place. Music is always way too loud. Only reason I joined is to use the sauna.

Has to be one of the cleanest gyms I've ever been too. Great range of equipment and good spacing of said equipment. Staff could be more engaging, often feel like I'm interrupting their conversations with mates while I'm there to make a purchase.

The gym lacks a fridge for members, a local fridge to store protein shakes, would be desirable if you plan on doing a long training session. Very friendly staff, a very good training facility also the gym is very clean, the gym sells it self & it has a lot of equipment present, multiples of the same piece of equipment in most cases so you can get the machines or free weights you want most of the time. the atmosphere in the gym is quite good also another bonus they play good music, I’ll state there’s not a single clock in the gym, either wear a watch or bring your phone around with you or risk staying in the gym for more or less time then desired, for everything the gym has it has, it lacks a clock. The membership is very cheap currently $300-$400 for a yearly membership, and its hands down the best gym in the area looking at everything the gym has to offer.

I love this gym but please pay more attention to hygiene the showers and the washers need clean otherwise perfect place. Ladies room unfortunately always packed and I'm always so concerned that I might bump on to someone or hurt them. I appreciate everything but some modifications is super helpful. Friendly staff, even friendlier people, the gyms always clean, and the amount of new equipment is just unbeatable to any other gym out there.

Love this gym, can’t complain about pricing and equipment is algood 💯🙌🏽 Does get packed but what do you expect at the best in the area! Only reason I’d give 4 instead of 5 is No til at front counter lol So should probably look at putting a sign up saying no cash payments 😅

The staff at Derrimut are the best ever! My man Ayoub and the gorgeous Hazal are the so kind and genuine ever time I use the gym. These two need a pay rise for their efforts 🔥💪

Best gym ever. It has everything and anything you need for your workout. The only downside is that is it so packed and hard to find parking around the area. These days I try to go at odd hours, school hours and also nearing midnight.
