It's awesome place to go for pilgrimage. Shrine has to really work hard to get a good piclgrimage place. No proper stay at arthakumari and staff feel they are boss as they always fight with you doesn't have good tone.

Now its very easy to reach there and get mata vaishno devi darshan. Train from Delhi will go directly to Katra the nearest station to the mata darbar. You can take helicopter ride and you can reduce almost 10 km of your journey out of 12 km. when you reach near the mata darbar you will feel peace from inside, its too natural.

Katra -Best place to visit Vaishno Devi Darbar “It is said that - Must visit the temple of Bhairoo baba after Vaishno Devi temple “ 3 routes (ways) to go to Darbar No of other facilities for the one who don’t prefer walk Facilities like - Horse, Palki , Pittu (only for kids -They carry kids on their shoulders), cars, Helipads. Must carry too many winter clothes with you. To visit this place - please book the rooms and other things required prior. They also provide blankets (when there is too crowd) Take care of your family and belongings. Lovely and powerful place!❤️😍 For walkers - you have steps 2 walking routes. - One the old one where Generally you have good crowd , find many eatable items on the way Must try Raddish (Mulli) , Cucumber (khira) and black chickpeas (kala chanaa) , soda (masala) , Paratha’s , Rajma chawal , Kadi chawal 3rd route - plain road ( which is totally new) No network connection are available here - only postpaid networks works - BSNL ! Holy place. Crowded at most times as it is the beginning point for vaishno devi yatra. There are tons of hotels and eating options available for the pilgrims coming here to visit Vaishno Devi Mata.

Religious place, being maintained by shrine board. The yatra trek for vaishnu devi is well maintained by the board and for children and old persons they have started various services like electric cars and rope way. But i strongly recommend you to avoid new trek as it is 2 km more in comparison and steep. For food in katra go for manuranjan dhaba. Food at manuranjan dhaba is good as compare to other food options available in market, though the service and the staff is very bad at this dhaba.

Katra vaishno devi is very nice holy place . New way tarakoti marg from Katra to Mata vaishno devi bhawan is very convenient. There are many light color changing foundations on new ways. Many reasonable price cafes and refreshments shops are available in new way by shri mata vaishno devi shrine board . After half of the way free of cost bhandra is there for the peoples. In the bhandra, all the management is so nice.. after having bhandra all washing dishes . There is nice management of washing dishes.
