This place is awesome the food is so good my favorite thing is the wet frys. The pastrami sandwiches are also very good.

One of the best places in SoCal to get a greasy spoon pastrami sandwich. Thinly shaved pastrami, soaked in au jus, then stacked high on a French roll with mustard and pickles. A SoCal classic that’s becoming harder to find these days. Don’t think New York style pastrami sliced and stacked high on rye bread. This is a different style of sandwich. If you like pastrami you owe it to yourself to try out this once iconic SoCal sandwich. Other things to try: Gravy fries - a thicker cut steak fries, smothered in brown gravy, delicious! Crunchy onion rings - so good! Chili cheese fries - thicker cut steak fries covered in cheeses then smothered in a classic SoCal style brick chili. Try it in the classic SoCal style with diced onions, pickle and tomato. Wash it all down with a tasty glass of Orange Bang (another SoCal classic that is becoming hard to find these days)

The Hat is a classic establishment. Their pastrami is delicious and the vibe inside feels like a 1960s diner. Food is served hot and quick The pastrami chili cheese fries are a must try. They load up a whole 2x2 drink tray loaded with fresh fries, hot chili and a mountain of pastrami on top. It is Enough to put anyone into a food coma. The Hat also has a full menu of hot and cold sandwiches and chili dogs

Can’t go wrong with chili cheese fries. You can add pastrami on it too. I personally think the pastrami is a little too salty but my bro loved it. There is plenty of parking! They have a drivethru but I find going inside is much quicker.

The Hat offers a lot of menu options, but if this is your first time here, the Pastrami dip is where it's at. Although the title says "dip", the sandwich is not really wet. The French roll comes with mustard, pickles, and of course, the thinly cut pastrami ...and it's messy in the best kind of way. The chili cheese fries come in a huge mound of goodness, but not overly greasy. Adding onions equals extra deliciousness. It will easily feed a few people. To help cut through the saltiness, an Orange Bang will do the trick. Prices are fair, staff is friendly, food is served quickly but hot, and the place is old school but clean.

This is a place I usually go for a late-night snack. The food looks really appetizing and tastes great. Every time I go, I eat onion rings and pastrami sandwiches, and I'm satisfied every time I eat them. Even if there are a lot of people, the service is fast and prompt, so you don't have to wait long. I'm a fan of this old restaurant. I like the atmosphere, but it is a clean place. I will go often in the future.

Honestly didn't know what was good. Went with the world famous pastrami dip sandwich and a order of large fries. $19 bucks but the sandwich has plenty of meat and their was a lot of fries. The pastrami sandwich was excellent the hotter the fries the better. They also have this fries and chilli, pastrami, a pile of tomato and onion that looked awesome. And it's huge. Maybe next visit.

Fantastic roast beef and pastrami sandwiches. The bread that the sandwiches are served on is perfection; soft yet strong enough to stand up to the weighty filling. Our party of 3 also shared chili-cheese fries which is large enough for probably 6-8, but honestly I'd skip these next time and save the room for the much more flavorful and memorable sandwiches.

I love...love....love....the pastrami sandwich and chili fries. I have no words to describe because I am too busy salivating for it...even now. Great food, great people....and I strongly recommend. I wonder if they can pour some cheese in my sandwich lolz.

The hat never disappoints. This location is great service was fast and friendly. I had forgotten how large the portions are. Trust me you can share. This place was packed when we were there so wait times a a very. Love the wet fry’s, onion rings and pastrami sandwich is still amazing. You definitely need to try The Hat if you are near a location.

As always, best pastrami sandwiches in the area! Been going to this location since they opened (especially if I'm nearby and have a craving for some Pastrami). Pastrami meat overflows over the sandwich. Great fries (although their small order seems to be less than yesteryears). I always ask for yellow peppers and some ranch packets on the side. Still excellent service and kudos to the staff! I gotta get a Hat t-shirt next time! Cheers!

Ordered the pastrami dip and chili fries with cheese. Sandwich was good with the soft roll. Pastrami has lots of flavor and very thinly sliced. As you eat the sandwich, the meats are falling out .Mustard and pickles were the only condiments. The fries with chili and also added cheese was humongous. This can feed at least 3 people. Fries are crispy and chili was very good tasting, plus they were generous with the cheese topping. This place has a drive thru and was busy. Inside they had plenty of workers slamming orders out and the atmosphere was good with the friendly staff. The only bad part was they were out of onion rings and they don't know when they are getting them back.

We were heading back home to Az. and stopped off at The Hat! We have visited once before at another location but had to try again. Amazing!! If you're a fan of pastrami this is the place for you. We also got a small fry that was put in these bags. (see pics) That small fry was enough for two people minimum. I have a pretty good appetite and I could only eat half of the sandwich. When ever I return to L.A. I definitely will be stopping by one of these places again. Give it a try, what do you have to loose? If this review helps put a 👍🏼

I ordered the pastrami dip, a large fry and large soda. Total came to just under $21. Serving size was big enough for me to have enough leftover for another meal. Everything came out fresh and fast. By the time I filled my soda, they were calling my number to pickup my food. The flavor of the pastrami was delicious, and the fries are potatoey but still crispy. Large fry is more like 2 large fries, but only $1 more than the small, so why not, right?

Words cannot describe how delicious this sandwich is. 10/10 will go again. (P.S. One large fry would be plenty for 2 adults and 3 kids (5 and under).) Pictured: Classic Pastrami Sandwich (w/Swiss cheese)

This place is the best. Stopped here during a work trip. Everything was great. Atmosphere was busy and fun. The pastrami is massive. Fries could feed an army.

Food is great! One of the best pastrami places! Only slightly bad thing is the lines can get a bit long and the fries aren't the most flavorful imo, not a big deal though. Also very great hotdogs. 🌭 An amazing place, would definitely suggest a visit!

The Hat is always a treat. The chili cheese fries are the go to item for me and it is easily enough for two to split. Well known for their pastrami, the hat has plenty of tasty items on the menu. You won’t be disappointed if you give them a try. It can often be quite busy but the lines move swiftly so don’t be discouraged.
