Had a pleasant experience with Somit this morning. Learned the basics of yoga and some pranayam, focusing on poses for my neck and back pain. Very relaxing to learn yoga at the rooftop. Had no trouble communicating with Somit. Maraming salamat Somit!

We have mixed feelings about Somit. We had some food at the homestay, which was very well cooked by his wife and mother. However, we took a yoga class, and Somit was very distracted during it and took phone calls, as well as taking our photos throughout (which we didn’t give permission for). In addition, he took us to a silk shop whilst we waited for our food - we bought some products as we wanted some presents for our family. It is now clear to us that these were severely overpriced for these products in Varanasi, and I’m sure Somit gets commission. He’s on to something very pure and has a great charity, but maybe in other areas he could be more honest.

nice yoga session, charitable foundation which is a huge plus. Limited space for movements and maybe some positions were slightly advanced and over straining. He is a very nice guy but i’m not sure if he is a professional at yoga. Don’t believe everything he says, he will still take commission and want money from you.

Would honestly give this place a 10/10. Me and my girlfriend stayed for 3 nights. Great value, great food, prime location with peaceful rooftop and friendly/attentive staff. The owner, Somit, is dedicated to helping local, vulnerable children who cannot afford school fees and so the money raised at the homestay goes directly towards teaching these children. Whatever it is you want from Varanasi, whether its Volunteering, Yoga practice, or simply experiencing the holy city of Varanasi, Somit's Guesthouse is the place for you.

I stayed 1 week doing different type of yoga classes with Somit and it has been the most amazing yoga experience of my life. After all the sessions, I had a really good feeling and I felt so relax and with many energy. I would highly recommend it to everyone that comes to Varanasi. I wish I can come again and practise more yoga with Somit, he is a good professional and person.

Somit was great, he really helped me to push my limits with what yoga I can do in our roof top yoga session. But more importantly he told us a lot about the charity and the projects they run but also gave an extensive description of how everyday life works in Varanasi. If you've been on a few tours where you feel there has been limited information then Somit will blow you away by his standard of English and his knowledge of the city. If you are interested in volunteering for a genuine charity in India then I couldn't recommend Somit Education Training society more.

Somit and his mother greeted me on arrival and made me feel very at home. At first I was feeling overwhelmed from the ride in from the airport and didn’t know what to expect. We had a chai and he went over all they had to offer. Somit set me up with a morning tour with Satish. Satish was a great driver and tour guide. (Much appreciated considering the traffic!) Ma and Pooja made delicious meals in the kitchen. I enjoyed the roof top area and relaxing in the lobby in between adventures. Somit provided a great yoga session and also referred me for an astrology session. There is something for everyone on their list of offerings. The whole team was amazing.

My friends and I did a local spiritual tour. It was great getting a chance to see the local areas and get first hand knowledge of the culture, religious practices, and taste of the street foods. It’s super easy and welcoming to ask questions and get moments to meditate. We also spent time at the school talking with students. A dance party may have been involved. Their energy was palpable and one of the highlights of my trip in India so far. Highly recommend!

Roof top nice place for morning Great yoga session By Somit ...beside of these Somit provides many classes on donation base and ground floor free school for poor kids ...Happy to stay here and glad ...We came here with my family me. , My wife , daughter and son . We are here for 5 days in top room triple bed room with Aircon and attach bathroom... impression of these place was awesome...we felt here family attachment ... All members here very helpful and good . We have taken Sarii from Somit place they have factory where poor families work quality was good . Roof top very peace and great and restaurant too ... Good was delicious and hot . We will back after 6 month back again...

Super best place for astrology and good yoga teacher here . Classes mostly here they take on donations basr . highly recommending .

Best Time here with the volunteering program and yoga classes...Lucky me to find this place. I wish everyone give it a try and meet somit sir , try to visit according to his instruction. Ghats are near to this place and spending to on the Ghat is must and should not missed ...

I took a yoga class as well as received a massage and henna. Every experience was great. Excellent instruction for yoga, professional massage, and beautiful henna end product. I would recommend the services provided here.

We had an amazing yoga class with Somit! He has practiced for 22 years and I liked his teaching style! The payment is on donation basis going to the education centre he is running - I very much recommend this place! Somit runs yoga classes, hostel, restaurant, the education centre, ayurveda, art classes and much more!

Ayurveda Massage Gotten these place is very reasonable price and charity program they run gor street kids it is great ...i saw founder Somit gives yoga lesson too but being for short tine i could not join the session next time i will join yoga and volunteering for kids..

This guy is pure scam. Biggest con artist of Varanasi. He doesn’t even have scheduled classes because he doesn’t have students then how come he has so many reviews. He will lure you in with peaceful talk and chill vibes but he is just a fake and he is not ashamed of it. Only thing he cares about is to take money from you.

Had a wonderful experience with Somit. A morning well spent with a rooftop yoga class followed by a lovely discussion on his incredible work for the children of Varanasi. Highly recommend.

Very friendly guide, did a nice guided mediation and yoga in the morning. Overall very good and informative, learned a few poses and mantras etc and have definitely taken some positive things away. However there was limited space upstairs and felt distracted at moments.
