Montaña Santa Emilia

Hiking area

👍👍 It is a place full of nature, there is a lot of water thanks to the cloud forest and there is also a lot of wild flora and fauna, howler monkeys, orioles, toucans, etc. I wish I received the support of the Danlí mayor's office to promote environmental care.

Montaña Santa Emilia is perhaps Danlí's best kept secret. Once a coffee farm, this private protected area is now home to Howler Monkeys, toucans, orchids and a countless other wildlife. The experienced hiker will be challenged to follow a trail along a narrow stream and up the mountain. Families, children and inexperienced hikers can have fun walking a dirt road leading to a couple of view points and to an old coffee farm house, Santa Emilia's headquarters.

Very nice place for hiking, I visited it with my family and we liked it. There is a diversity of forest and fauna as well as a ravine with waterfalls and pools for bathing. I recommend it, the only complaint is the poor condition of the road that leads to the place even though it is close to the city.

To begin with, the street is horrible. Since the death of the owner, the heirs divided up and now there is no access to the house or to the waterfall above or to the flat part where there is a nice view. Now it is fenced and private, so it no longer makes sense to go. ! I do not recommend it. We walked in the hope of taking nice photos and for the children to bathe in the basins that washed coffee, but neither did they, and they charged us 60 lempiras for the entrance fee per person to get to the lagoon, a part that is neither pretty nor funny because the pretty thing is up and for what they charge they should at least fix the street that is missing. The only interesting thing was that we saw some monkeys

I love visiting this place!!! It is great, one of the best tourism options in Danlí, it is nice to take the tour to the Faust caves.

Finca Santa Emilia is an excellent place for mountain hiking, seeing howler monkeys, varied flora and fauna that is still preserved in the area, and nature and adventure to the extreme. Visit it

It was amazing, it's a paradise hidden closely to the city. Feels like going to Narnia, good vibes. You must visit Santa Emilia.

Enough potential for tourism, currently it is a fairly abandoned property!
