The hotel is in a convenient location. Has great view. If you are lucky, you even hear the peacocks singing in the afternoon time. Has a well equipped gym and a nice swimming pool. Breakfast items has healthy choices. Rooms are spacious and house cleaning staff are cordial. If you are in a budget, I suggest to stay in this hotel. Would go back again.

The hotel has an interesting theme, but it needs a bit more care and attention put into it. My room had dirt on the walls, and the shower wasn't well maintained. I asked to switch rooms, but let me just say the bathroom in the second was even less desirable. It was late, and I needed a place to stay, so I just booked 1 night. The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. I looked at the swimming pool from the window and the water was so murky, I couldn't even imagine getting into it. The best thing here is the restaurant. The food is quite nice. I can't speak for the gym as I didn't use it. It is also in a nice area of Dar which is good for taking a walk and has some restaurants nearby.

Overall it's a decent hotel at a pretty good location. In my room there were a couple of cockroaches and the air conditioner was falling apart. The gym and the pool are located in the next building and the gym is quite big and fully equipped. If they can fix some minor issues it'll be a nice place to stay.

We live nearby and use the fitness center nearly every day. The equipment is expertly maintained and there is enough quantity and variety of weights and cardio machines that there is never any waiting even at peak times. Two squash courts, good classes, and a great pool make this the best value gym membership in town.

My husband and I come to Tanzania frequently for work and we always have a difficult time finding a nice hotel that has hot water (even if the hotel advertises that they do have hot water, most of the time they don’t). Showers were amazing here! Restaurant has good food. Pool was incredible (water wasn’t cold). And the gym was very large. Internet speed was pretty good too.

Unfortunately, we lost our keys and couldn't get in while the time was passing and the night starting... Since we couldn't get in, we had to find an alternative and that is when we called the Colosseum hotel. Within 10 minutes everything was ready and when we arrived the staff was so welcoming that we instantly felt at home. The kind gesture made us forget about the trouble we encountered. Took the kids swimming in the pool. Water was very nice, perfect temperature. No nasty bleach smell. Did not stay at the hotel but enjoyed dinner there. Beer was cold and the fish was great with chips which are french fries and not potato chips. English influence. The changing room needed some attention to detail (cloth hooks and shower head ). Did not visit the rest rooms. The outside dinning area has an awesome roof structure. Taxi from Hotel to south of town about TZS 15.000 (about US$ 7,00). We will be back on our next visit to Tanga. Fun part was seeing the birds eating the mangos from the top branches. They know they taste great.

For almost $150 a month it's one of the most expensive gyms in Dar, yet the quality of the machines and variety is totally horrible, all their bars are not Olympic standard bars, very low quality machines, cramped space if there is like just 10 people on the weight room, it's already crowded. The staff are nice and that's about it!

In a hotel I stayed 2 times, I had big problems in the last party. There were lots of flies in the room and no precautions were taken for it. The male staff at the reception were very rude. He charged me an extra $90 and tried to scam both me and the hotel. I will never go again and all my friends and I hate this hotel now. we went for vacation but we had a bad day because of stupid staff. Nobody take care. Other staff outside the reception are very nice and polite people. If you don't want to get quality service and get scammed, don't go here. You don't deserve 5 stars.
