Hidden gem, you can't tell the kind of vybe and busy-ness that this place is. The menu is vast, lots of options, food is fresh and tasty! I had the burger named Steve, with half and half salad and fries and a latter.it was good, very filling. Location is oyster bay. Service is good, lots of staff, buzzing around and friendly. A must return!

The place is by the roadside with a sea view. Has both outdoor and indoor sitting options. Usually is packed with people. Went there for quick lunch around 12.30 and the place was already full. Food portions are big. Three of us couldn’t finish 2 dishes. So if you are alone and not much hungry order the half portion. For big groups, if you want to try a few dishes, order full portion. Fat boy quesadilla was very good. They make the bread in-house so even the sandwich breads are fresh. The server was quite busy and we had to wait to order or even pay later. They could’ve hired more people to help the diners. Price is mid range and has parking. Would recommend.

The food at Salt is excellent and it tastes brilliant. This review is more about Salt's service. A lot of people who are local such as myself have noted that Salt has a reputation for treating local Tanzanian clients badly. I had been here a few years ago and the service was terrible while we watched other people being treated well. My husband and I decided to give Salt one more try this weekend and we were pleasantly surprised as the service seem to have improved a little bit. We went for breakfast, we had omelettes, pancakes, hot chocolate and drinks. Their food is absolutely excellent but I hope the service can continue to be improved and I hope Tanzanian customers will be welcomed nicely just like everyone else. Might give Salt another chance again.

For me SALT is one of the best restaurant that there is here in Dar es salaam. They have nice food with good taste. Even when you order online the food will still come with the same good taste. It can get busy during lunch hours and your order can take time. The food portions that are saved are always enough and could be a lot to some people. Above all the restaurant has this artistic ambiance that you can enjoy when you have a book to read.

It's a rustic coffee shop, more than a restaurant. We really enjoyed the food at dinner time. The food range and menu weren't so exciting, or the waiter didn't present it well enough. Menu mentioned breakfast and lunch but not dinner. Looks like a better place for breakfast lunch meetings.

Great place to grab brunch! The eggs Benedict with beef bacon was really good. Also the chicken quesadilla was pretty tasty as well. Very clean restaurant and ambiance is great. A nice spot to hold a lunch meeting as well. Very broad and elaborate menu with many delicious dishes to choose from. Price-budget for about 30k per person. Indoor and outdoor seating available, along with wifi.

Came for breakfast.. as how the place is well known for its brunch selections I got waffles and cheese eggs with toast and coffee The waffles were pretty good and soft. Really enjoyed this The eggs were okay only more on the bland side and very generous with the cheese Coffee was good I look forward to try more of their menu Also the atmosphere is great! I’ve been here several times and had great experience on every occasion. The food and desserts are delicious, have a very homemade flavour and style to them, and come in great portions. Waiters are very attentive and helpful, service is quick overall. Interior design is an interesting mix and match of pretty much everything, feels very cosy. And of course good spot for some breeze by the ocean! I recommend the homemade iced tea, philly steak quesadilla and pancakes.

We come here for the brunch. The bacon is great, the pancakes remind me of home and the eggs are cooked to perfection. Coffee is always delicious. Get the avocado toast ;)

I have dined here a total of 4 times the first two times was a great experience all and all. The last two times have been very disappointing. The food and drinks are tasty but the customer service was absolutely terrible. The last time was the time I declared I will not spend anymore money here unfortunately. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and she thought I said Mocha when I tried to correct her she would not take accountability for the simple mistake and then lied about the price being the same which it was not. As an establishment that is not cheap to dine in I feel like they need to do better in the customer service they are giving. It’s not matching the quality of food, the vibe it’s trying to create, the location, and the customers they are trying to attract.

Amazed at some of the dishes being brought out, so had great expectations waiting for my red snapper. The fish was straight off the grill and perfectly cooked, chips were cool the only disappointment of the meal. I will be going again às the atmosphere is chilled out relaxed, staff are great freindly and smiling.

Excellent breakfast menu and a wide variety of offerings for lunch and dinner. Great location with views onto the Indian Ocean. Staff are friendly and more efficient than many restaurants in Dar. 🙂🇹🇿

This is a late review !! But for several years I’ve visited Salt - they’ve manage to be consistent in terms of maintaining quality of food . The Sunday brunch is my fav time to pop in . ( I advise placing a reservation before hand ) as the place gets packed - rightfully so . Many vegetarian options !!

Great place to have breakfast, haven’t tried other meals. Wish it had more space, feels a tad small, but i guess it helps to keep the place quiet and nice to have a meal.

Food is lovely and consistently good. Restaurant (inside) is often very noisy from kitchen and music also loud. Service is always great. Frozen beef lasagna is a great value for money home meal. Quesadillas, Ceasar salad, omelette with Benedict sauce and Cinnamon rolls are favourites.

Pork bacon on the menu!!! Cooked right!! American style pancakes!!! Nachos were made from fried wonton strips- super creative. Toilet area was clean with cute decor AND hygiene sheets for the Western toilet seat!!! Paper towels were soft and plentiful. We will be back. Breakfast bill was 74000tsh for two. Visa credit card accepted here.

I have been here for breakfast with my mate on a Sunday morning during the after church hours and it was packed 😅 guess it’s reputation proceeds it. I had Scrambled egg with a toast and it was super, loved the waitress who was serving us and the atmosphere minus the church traffic. The price for their food is okay and they’re inside set up it’s perfect.

The place is unique in a good way... both the atmosphere and food although the quality of some drinks are getting low such as Strawberry mojito. Also, it is unpredictable on the working hours...they tend to operate based on their own schedule. Please call them before you visit. They may be closed or are closing early for the day.

Salt The establishment has impressed me with their decor and space management. One can see majority of their kitchen and I think that's cool. There wasn't any wifi when I went. The staff are friendly and welcoming but have no name tags. The food is good and portions are a good size for the price point. I has the trailer trash burger and homemade ice tea.

Get there early before the morning rush ideally 8-9. Had a great breakfast egg benedict with bacon and avocado. Next time its the full monty as it looks great. Carrot and ginger juice. Quick service all day even when its crowded like today no waiting around for an hour to be served.

This restaurant has this ambiance of prestige. I felt carried within a place of value and economy (I am not kidding). This is definitely a place of my money's worth and my time. The portions are ridiculously generous and the service is kind and timely. There should be even more hype for this place if there isn't any at the moment.

This place is AMAZING... Anna our server was attentive and so pleasant. We had the open-faced smoked salmon beer battered onion rings and Japanese beef the full came out quickly hot and extremely good we were so pleased with the atmosphere the service and the full I highly recommend this place and we took a takeaway of cake which was superb try the double expresso and the saffron chai latte...

OMG. My husband and I had breakfast here and it was amazing. I had a half portion pancakes and it was so delicious and filling. Neither one of us could finish our food and we started out hungry. They give a large portion of delicious food. Customer service was very friendly and there are funny signs to read around the place. Definitely will be returning.

My wife and I visited Salt for a familiar western breakfast experience. I had the omelette with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce, and a coffee (Americano with milk) It was delicious. My wife had the Veggie Monty, which was a very sizeable platter. Again, it was delicious. This establishment is a bit more expensive than other places, but Oyster Bay is like Miami Beach.

I love salt. The ambience, the hospitality/service, the location and the freshness of their food and desserts is impeccable. I tried the orange cake today. Loved it! Perfectly balanced sweetness with their orange glaze drizzled over the cake. Moist and light. Just perfect. I also love how raw, detailed and authentic their menu is.
