I enjoyed the food here better than their Sea cliff location, to be honest. We were 3 people- ordered a veg hot and sour soup, Chilli paneer, butter chicken, veg fried rice and garlic naan. Their soup was really good- i highly recommend to try it! The butter chicken was really good. The chilli paneer however was better at their sea cliff location. It wasn’t as crispy and fresh tasting. The service was a lot better here at the town location. Price wise it’s very reasonable, our bill came up to around 70k Tsh, so I’d budget about 25k per person.

Visited Alcove after quite some time for dine-in and I must say the food is exactly as i remember and what a pleasant memory it was. The food was delicious as always. Service did take a little longer than anticipated however when the food arrived it was well worth it. The butter naan was simply amazing. Schezwan chicken and tandoori chicken masala was perfect as well. Definitely worth a visit for some delicious comfort food. Highly recommend.

Its rated as one of the best indian restaurant in DAR. The food, ambience and staffs are very good. We went to have lunch there the issue which i think was there is the delay in serving which is more than 30 mins rest everything is perfectly fine. The Bindi masala is a must try dish❤️

The Alcove Restaurant offers a marvellous variety of dishes both asian and western. The waiters and waitresses go above and beyond to meet your comforts. The serene atmosphere is definitely a plus point. A 10/10 from my side!

Situated on the lower decks of this impressive building (pictured) in Dar, this huge restaurant is well worth a visit! A super cross section of Indian and Chinese inspired food awaits the guest! Service was excellent, and our Waitress made brilliant suggestions towards our selection. She was prompt, friendly, well informed and knowledgeable of her menu, ingredients used and knew how to read her customers! Well priced, huge portions, a great atmosphere - highly recommended without any doubt!!

We have tasted the food here & we liked the indo Chinese option more.....So thought to give it a try as we returned to dar es salaam after 2years...but some dishes were not that great ....ordered for chicken saag waala & was not at all great..could make out that the masala & chicken was infused separately, then later added & heated coz it dint blend well, we did nt enjoy it... even the fish tikka had too much food color & no great tatse so that was too 👎🏻👎🏻a no no for next time..we enjoyed the chicken lollipop..that was really the star of the night & savier for us.. So its same as before the chinese options are still better then indian.. Go for indo-Chinese options👍🏻

Yesterday Dtd. 13 Feb 2022 my parents and their colleagues went for dinner to this over the top restaurant, as soon as they returned home, out of all, both my parents aged 60 and 56 years and their 2 more colleagues started having stomach pain. They had crispy corn, Manchurian, chilly paneer, and later Roti and Indian Dal-Rice. It got even serious matter that my mother was taken for emergency treatment at Haji Ismail Hospital around 1 AM. I am writing here to inform the management that it hurts me when food is handled or served in careless mannner as it directly impacts the health of a person and hurts even more when it involves a loved one. I wish you take utmost care and not serve food that you know should not fit to serve.

A good indo asian restaurant situated in the Heidery Plaza Building. The food and service are good and have an extensive menu. I enjoyed their sizzlers and fried rice. The price is reasonable and staff very welcoming and courteous. The major draw back is the environment...the building badly needs update.

I came here after 20 years and the taste will have to say has been maintained and the food was delicious. The staff was also very polite and courteous.

The restaurant was quite empty at first but gradually more and more people came. The attendants were polite and friendly and the waiter who attended to my table was kind enough to help me out with what to order. I ended up choosing a boneless chicken dish (can't remember the name) but its a savoury dish similar to Chicken Tikka masala but a lot spicier (hotter) with some butter naan. The dish was simply awesome and the virgin mojito was a perfect blend of citrus and mint coolness to counter the heat from the chicken. I would recommend The Alcove as a definite must for any food lover.

I visited the roof top resto-bar for a casual dinner. The food & drinks were great. The ambience was totally worth it!

Had known this place and been dining here since 2014 for a couple times and had enjoyed every time. Since i shifted from town in 2018 to another area had forgotten about this place. Came back again to remember how good the food tastes and how big their portions are... Gonna be coming here more often again also they have very reasonable price for a meal that can easily be enough for 2 people. Always seems quiet and staff is trained professionals, makes you feel like you are served in a luxury restaurant. Over-priced "luxury" restaurants need to learn from you guys!! Thank you for the delicious meal and friendly service!
