Nice and small park on the coast of Indian Ocean. Boat trip to watch hippos, numerous birds and crocodiles is highly recommended. There are not too many animals, game on land. A sample what I saw is on pictures. Enjoy! 😃

Great experience. We got to see flamingos just before they migrated. We also saw crocodiles and hippos galore during the boat ride along wami river. Baboons and warthogs are also there in plenty. We were lucky to sight a few giraffes but not in luck to sight elephants or lions. The tour guide was quite helpful and overall we had a good experience

Beautiful Park to visit around Tanzania Coastal Regions. This is the only Park that meet with the Indian ocean. You can do camping close to the beach inside the Park, Boat cruise for the best view of crocodiles, hippos, fish etc. This Park is so peaceful.

They could really improve their accomodation services, electricity still an issue and no wi-fi service, they could also improve the quality of food they offer. Otherwise its a great gate-away for family to spend a few days in nature away from the hustle and tusle of city life.

Good Place for Family One day trip Small Reserve compare to Mikumi, Ngorongoro, Serengeti You can use your car or also their car to enter in part ,we park our car at Booking office and from there used their car. If your luck is good then only you can see lions and elephants. We booked in advance to stay there but Food and Accommodation service is very bad. Tour guide and Driver did hard work to show us elephant and lions for full day at evening we was lucky saw one elephant family but unfortunately we can't see Simba (Lion) overall good experience.

The park is wonderful and well maintained through but there are shortcomings which concerns the park that are villagers interference with hunting issue, cultivation or fishing, roads during bad weather became terrible, reception with variety of languages to visitors from guides is very minimal, poacher's are also endanger the animal welfare of this park and it's disadvantage is that the park occupy a large area of land in order to supervise maybe an issue. The number of animals in this park are not quite large but serves the most with it's aerial views & more. It's the only park in the country with the massive water bodies around & incredibly with an Indian ocean experience. Also there is an island called Fungwe/Mafue which sometimes disappear covered by ocean water, it's wonderful plus options of swimming/diving is available. You may also learn bout ocean species such as living circles of sea turtles who are of 4/5 kinds.

Located in the centre of the historic triangle of Bagamoyo, Pangani and Zanzibar, Saadani National Park covers 1100km square. It is the only wildlife sanctuary in Tanzania bordering the sea. The climate is coastal, hot and humid. It offers a unique combination of both marine and mainland flora and fauna in a culturally fascinating setting. About 30 species of larger mammals are present as well as numerous reptiles and birds. Besides many species of fish (over 40), green turtles, humpback whales and dolphins occur in the ocean nearby.

As mentioned before, this park is closest to Zanzibar and you can get there by a boat from Kendwa or by an airplane. I cant reconmend the boat. 2 hours and very rough drive can make you easily sick. The park is one of the smallest and you wont see many animals. There was an unnecessary detour to an ugly salt factory just to see the river with no hippos. The lunch was very simple. After the lunch I didnt see any more animals and everyone was bored and tired but the nature itself is nice. It is one of the cheapest options to experience some kind of safari but if you saw bigger parks before you will be dissapointed. Even if you haggle a lot they will still rip you off. I would pay for this 50 dollars. Sadly it was 165 dollars for me :D

It's nice place to spend one day or two but you shouldn't expect too much. Animals don't show during daytime. They get active night-time but the gate of the park get closed at 6 p.m. It's rather impossible to see wild cats. During our trip we have seen some giraffes, antelopes and buffalo. Nor lions neither leopards or elephants were seen. Be carefull when you negotiate the price. At the end of the trip we were surprisingly told by our guide that he is not employed and his is not given any money from the park. That was really surprising especially that he had park uniform and he was earlier processing our tickets in the official park tourist office. I think that there are much better places to see in Tanzania but they are away from Dar Es Salaam.

Saadani is a great place to explore the thrill of boating down a river, watching wildlife and birds in the bush and enjoying a swim in the ocean. The accommodation options are also fairly priced. It's easy to underestimate just how rich with experiences this park is.

(Translated by Google) The saadani national park has beautiful vegetation. The animals are unfortunately very shy. We have not seen many. The river trip is a good 2 hours on very bad roads. The park itself has wonderful lodges. We were the only guests spoiled with delicious food. Unfortunately, we have heavy rain there. Since we were the only guests, we were offered to sleep at km tower right in the park. I inquired if it was as nice as the lodge and we would be assured. Unfortunately that was not the case. It was very run down and a nightmare in the weather. It was raining everywhere. And the food was not comparable to the one in the camp. I do not know why they put us there. It stormed all night. The next morning we first had to wait 2 hours before you could ever drive home again. It got worse. We had to cross giant water holes until nothing worked. A river fed us the road. We could not drive through. So we ran with luggage on our heads through the river. We were gone to the belly button. Then for us another vehicle on the other side to our flight. Only away here. I really do not know why they had to take us to the tower. It could have been so nice at the camp.

Saadani national park "where the bush meets the beach" is the only park in east Africa located at the coastline of the Indian Ocean eastern zone tourism circuit,175km from dar and only 45mints from the spice isalnd, zanzibar. Saadani its a beautiful park to visit where you get the chance to witness wildlife basking along the shores of the indian Ocean, here is where the lion meets the turtle. Welcome all in saadani national park 🌊
