Came here for a Saturday evening meal. Was amazed at the beautiful pool and surroundings. The beach, unlike many others around town, was immaculate and well kept, obviously by the hotel staff. People were really enjoying their time in the pools, as well as the kiddie pool for the little ones. Our seafood platter was good, but only drawback was the very slow service. Otherwise, good food and drinks service. Enjoyable and gorgeous setting for an evening meal out!

Any positive review of this hotel was surely paid for, because there is no way anyone can have anything good to say about this hotel. It doesn’t deserve any stars at all and certainly not the four star rating it has. We’ve spent time in Zanzibar and figured we’d try a beach holiday in Dar es Salaam, and chose the Ramada as it’s a reputable brand… at least that’s what we thought. You first arrive to a dingy front desk, and the indoor public areas are poorly ventilated, so the whole hotel is humid and with a foul odor. We booked a Junior Suite and the first thing you see when you enter the room is this awkwardly positioned ironing board. The furniture, including the towels were visibly dirty and stained. When we complained to the duty manager, we were told that they would wash the sofa the next day. They ended up replacing the sofa with one that was less dirty… The food on the hot buffet was lukewarm at best, and the uniforms of the people handling the food were dirty and to add salt to injury they had flip flops on! We asked for an ice bucket with ice and that took an hour for us to receive it. The next morning, we asked for face cloths and those came after 2 hours. Breakfast was a disaster- cold food and dirty food stations. The people preparing the food don’t speak English so communicating how we wanted our food prepared was difficult. At this point we wanted to leave. We asked to speak to someone senior at the hotel as our stay was progressively getting worse; but as much as the front desk manager tried to help it literally got worse. The Christmas Brunch was mediocre at best, and yes the food was lukewarm AGAIN. We went back to our room and asked for 2 ice buckets with ice to chill champagne and that took another 2 hours. Then we asked for more ice and that took 3 hours. It’s no wonder they make you pay for the whole stay upon arrival and say it’s non-refundable because there is no way anyone would willing pay to stay here after experiencing this hotel. I’ve stayed in dozens of hotels around the world and this is literally the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. A total waste of time and money.

Pool: Massive! Runs the entire length of the outdoor seating area... most people would have their own space in the pool because of the size. Great for kids too because it isn't too deep (I don't think it goes beyond 1.5m) Lots of shaded seating too 👍🏼👍🏼 Restaurant: Food is good. Mocktails and cocktails are great. A bit overpriced compared to other places of the same kind. Beach: very clean. 30k entrance covers a day of swimming, access to the beach.

I am very disappointed and appalled at the poor service we received. There were flies at the sitting area next to the pool and in their restaurant. The food was never covered. The outside area looked sticky and dirty. Our room was not cleaned properly. The table was sticky, full of what appeared to be tomato sauce residue and glass rims. We would call the waiters for service, wait 30 minutes and when we complained to the manager he said he will find someone to assist us but we had to wait an additional 15 minutes. The staff does not seem well trained with no professional etiquette. I have been to Ramada (DAR) in 2016 and had a great experience. It is definitely NOT worth the money spent and we certainly will not be back!

Ramada Dar es Salaam is an outstanding choice for both its exceptional service and prime location. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay, displaying professionalism and friendliness throughout. The central location adds immense value, making it convenient for both business and leisure travelers. I highly recommend Ramada Dar es Salaam for a memorable and convenient stay.

Nice and good, great customer care from the parking all the way up to the hotel. They also have nice conference rooms and curial shop where you can grab 1 or 2 items as a gift to the loved ones, location is great and quite not too far from town, access to transport is also guaranteed

The infinity pool is awesome. The water is so clean and blue. You can see the beach and the sunset in the evening at the best.

The hotel was fine & clean. The main enterance looked nice & the view to the sea is noce too. The only dislike here for me was that the restaurant takes long time to serve food, for example, Mango jouce needed around 15 mints to be served !! Also, the out side tables & seat areas did not look that clean & organized. The room were fine & the staff are nice too.

Overall ok. There were times they would forget my dinner order when they had an event. The worst part was the the laundry staff boss asked me for some money to help someone with transportation while trying to unlock my door. How is that my concern and why would u ever enter my room. Lastly , they made u wear a mask to get food not complaining but they did not have hand sanitizer requirements lol. Ok? So do better with staffing issues. Would never have posted this but that guy from head maid arrives opened my door and asked me for money. I gave it with my left hand hope it annoyed him as he did me. Thx

The Ramada Resort is located around 10 to 15 miles from Dar es Salaam city centre. Great place for a quick getaway from the city's hustle and bustle. The sea facing rooms are well equipped with all the essential amenities in place. The pool is quite large, though, it can get crowded over the weekends. The beach is also easily accessible.

The resort is away from the main city and very quite and peaceful. Beautiful get away from the hustle bustle of our busy life. Spent the day by the beautiful view of the beach by the poolside and the night in the most wonderful and luxurious room with our own personal pool. Great for family getaways👍👍 the food and service was on point!! Just loved the whole experience!! Thank you to the wonderful team for this great experience.

Fabulous hotel with amazing staff. All the people working here are very nice and making your experience unforgettable. Location is also excellent. Pool is currently closed, but guests can use the one at Giraffe hotel, which actually might be even better and more ambient than the Ramada one.

Would score straight 6 stars if the beach was larger and expansive for unique ocean activities for boating, snorkeling, etc.

Place is reasonably good, but food variety is not one of their strengths. Some days there were not even butter in the breakfast buffet. Besides, the hotel is quite far from downtown, it takes at least half an hour and about 17,000 TZS in an Uber to get there. The area around the hotel is modest and not much to do or see around there. Staff are very friendly though and quite curtious.

Low customer service with some of the staff. Too strict without checking on option to help the customers. Two incedent I had mistakenly booked for the next month instead of this month. I arrived on a date that was a month earlier. I had to call Expedia for a long distance call because they couldn't change the booking or allow me in the room although there were many rooms. Another was , I was having buffet with my son outside and when we were in the middle of dinner our daughter came to join us. She didn't want buffet for some reasons. She asked if she could have alarcate from the restaurant or the poolside and bring it to where we were. The boss at the buffet said for alarcate is only inside so we either all go inside with her or she goes inside for alacarte. But they can't bring the food from their own restaurant to where me and my son were having dinner. We tried to let him understand that we would like to be together. He could not do anything. I was a resident and having buffet with my son! Then my daughter could not join us if she was to order from their own restaurant if she was going stay with us outside. I know that is a regulation but I think managers are there to weigh issue and judge in favor of both Hotel and customer

I actually just walked by on the beach. ⛱️ They have a very nice beach area and do an excellent job keeping it clean. From my vantage point, the rooms that face the beach should give a fantastic view of the ocean, especially at sunrise as they are facing East.

It's one of the best hotels in Dar. The location and the view are amazing. The area is quiet and great if you want to be away from the noisier parts of the city. They have a great pool. The facility is modern. They also have a few play spaces for those with kids. Worth checking out if you are considering a vacation.

Was a good show...

The service is great and the staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The food is good and well priced. I most enjoyed it being right on a quiet beach and has a lovely pool, both with the warmest water. And have a good food & drinks menu at the pool, so you can sit there for hours.

I attended a conference from this venue. Service was good. There was always variety when it came to food. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wish I could have stayed longer. It has a private beach that is kept clean. Also suitable for large events. The pool was under renovation when I got there but they offered alternatives.

Went to try out the food and facilities at the Ramada resort. The food was good but be warned it took about 1hr for it to arrive! Service is slow and somewhat confused at pool side. Personally I think they serving staff need to work in sections! Oscar tried his best but he was stretched.

Ramadan resort is a nice hotel with courteous staff and environmentally friendly housekeeping guidelines. The rooms are great especially those that give you the beachfront view. I enjoyed the meals, at least there was rice and pasta at lung and dinner, and bread at breakfast 🥴. As a Nigerian though, the food was mostly without salt and pepper if you know what I mean😂. I was able to get some dishes that contain salt to my taste. I'd be glad to visit again.

Went for dinner, the food was okay. The fried rice was great but the butter chicken was lacking authenticity, too much sourness. However the service was absolutely below standard. I was told to go to reception to get the WiFi code? We went for a walk on the beach while waiting for our food and our table was poached. Pool side service isn't great at all. After the food arrived after an hour and half, we had to wait about 30 minutes just for the food to be packed.

Great resort in terms of appearance. But the service wasn't too good on new years eve. Entry price was too high for what was being offered. Food was also too expensive for what you were getting.

We have stayed at Ramada 3 times now and it keeps getting better and better, our last visit in July was amazing, the staff were so friendly so helpful and the hotel was spotless, all under the expert care of Riaan and Maryanne. We couldn't recommend it more and will be back soon!

I would say this is my best hotel in Dar Es Salaam. I was lucky I got a room on the side of the sea and its really beautiful to look at the ocean every morning. Besides that, the customer care is fantastic and the food is great. Asante saana

Edit: After giving Ramada another try we had a much better experience, still some room for improvement but overall a very nice stay. (Original review) A disgrace to the Wyndham Group We went to Ramada for a weekend getaway and it was beyond horrible, I've never in my life been to a Wyndham hotel with such low standard and horrible service: - Furniture in room and balcony old and partly broken - No warm water in the bathroom - Mold in the bathroom tiles and rust in bathroom appliances - Unprofessional and unfriendly staff (personal highlight was a call from reception at midnight confusing the rooms and telling me this is my wake-up call) - Attempt to charge us for expensive wine which we didn't drink during checkout and then presenting us a bill from the bar without name or signature - Loud construction noise from the hotel garden past midnight which didn't let us sleep all night + Pool area is nice and staff around the pool helpful and friendly + Decent selection for breakfast When confronting reception staff with our complaints there was no reaction, definitely not coming back.

if you are thinking to visit Dar es salaam, Ramada hotel is the place for you to stay. they have good quality rooms, a coast, professional staff. their quality inter continental dishes make them stand out. Edmund(trainee) was very helpful throughout my stay, he is definitely a guy you want to talk. he will make you feel like you are at home.

  • 3/5 Yogesh B. 2 years ago on Google
I recently stayed there for one night in a King Suite. It's a well maintained property considering the Pandemic and Global tourism industry. They can do lot better 1. The swimming pool closes at 6pm and opens at 8am. Their property is east facing and it's quiet hot during day time. The best time to use the pool is after 4pm. If they management could keep the pool open till 9pm it will be great 2. The whole duration of my stay I was unable to get thru Room dining. I had to dial reception and face delays. Although once the order placed the service was good. Not to complain but there was a bulb missing in the ceiling. If someone pays for a suite I assume the room needs to be checked before allotment Hygiene - full marks

Everything about this hotel was great: beautiful room, tasty food, friendly staff and a perfect location! The room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the beach. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone traveling to Dar es Salaam.

  • 3/5 Eric O. 2 years ago on Google
A great place to stay but in need of improvements: No room service/food after 11 p.m. The speed of the service by the poolside needs to improve as well as the time taken for housekeeping. There was no downtime service and spraying of the room for mosquitoes.

Large beach area exposed for the hotel. Large swimming pool with a kids pool with and a garden. Ample outdoor seating area. Ample parking space. Wheelchair accessible paths and rooms. 24 hour room service and reception. Fitness Gym, a business centre and a boutique shop are available. Free WiFi for guests and rooms including laundry services. Most rooms have balconies. A wide range of Cuisine for your breakfast lunch dinner or in between meals. Dining in and reservations are accepted together with early bookings for accommodation. Other beach activities such as horse riding, island visits and city visits. Hotel located near ATMs and Banks, airport trips are assisted by reception. Service is quite above average time and pricing is above average $$$. Performing its best on 4star hotel category.

It's an awesome hotel. The rooms are great, with nice interior decor. The customer service is top notch. Staff are well mannered and supportive. The beach side view is just fantastic. The positioning of the restaurant overseeing the beach was a great idea. Food was foreign to me so didn't enjoy it much. Overall, the experience is really good there. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Dar Es Salaam.

Ramada is very much a spot, the ground floor and it’s outdoors are such marvellous for picnic or day out with friends! You can also have a social meet-up there. If you’re for a working space, focused close meeting or solo time, try the first floor! The views by the beach are stunning—and picturesque. Absolutely adorable area. Well, order your food as early as possible to allow for their long time preparation☺️

Fantastic place for vacation. Also good for business meetings although managing noise filtering across 2 concurrent meetings needs to be resolved perfectly using sound proofing systems or walls but a place for ultimate recreation and serenity.

OK hotel and nice staff. The beds are clean but the rest of the room could need a good cleaning, with stains on curtains and furniture. When we checked in we were given the room we ordered (a standard twin) but beeing a diamond member we should have been upgraded to a suite if available. There was suites available and when we asked the next day for the upgrade the receptionist refused us, saying that such benefits did not exist and we were sent to the hotel manager. The hotel manager sorted this out right away and we checked in to our suite within 5 minutes. The suite however was a bit worn out with only one of the double vanities working and the shower head was clogged so there was barely any water coming out of it. The furniture and curtains was stained in this room as well.

We are here for a meeting and it has good business facilities. Rooms are comfortable, however layout of shower cabinets and bath tubs can be improved by putting curtains as water splash every where without curtains. Property is on beach and has a wonderful restaurant to serve you. Staff is great and willing to go to extra mile to help you. We asked for cold beers and they got it from some deep fridge :) Chef, Mr. Sunil was just amazing and helped us with several delicious dishes and they tasted wonderful. He is also very friendly and hava magic in his hands!

We only popped in to review the hotel for out staff, excellent friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Quiet mid week and you have the pool and beach to yourself. Big thanks to Adham Adel the Executive Chef for his time. Great location and facilities.

I had a wonderful stay. The range of meals is amazing and there seems to be everything for everyone's taste buds. However, the service is slow and there appears no prior plans for guest's breakfast for those with early departures.

Reviewing the pool and the hotel's section of the beach. The fee is 30,000 to access the pool. You are given 1 towel. I think this Ramada pool is the best in Dar in terms of the fact it is huge. If you compare it with the Hyatt Regency, it can definitely compete (the Hyatt pool being the only infinity pool at a hotel in Dar). The food is OK but the pool and beach are stunning. Definitely worth coming here. I also appreciate the fact Ramada have gone to efforts to keep their section of the beach clean.

  • 5/5 Adrian B. 1 year ago on Google
By far my most enjoyable stay in Dar Es Salaam. Some parts might seem slightly rough around the edges but that is due to the ocean breeze and it gives it character. The staff are extremely friendly and the reception/concierge team went above and beyond to ensure a very pleasant experience. The pool area is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a cocktail and the pool itself is very large- you could easily do laps for exercise. From the pool you walk right onto the beach which is cleaned every morning.
