Jenny is just the best hostess I've met so far. She goes above and beyond to ensure you're satisfied. She's always on her feet, watching after her guests from whatever port you're coming in to Zanzibar. Wonder how she does it. She's just amazing. Mnana lodge is beautiful, relaxing, cool, clean, and has an archaic feel to it, the sea/beach is a short walk from the lodge. You sleep and wake up to the sound of sea-waves. The lodge is clean, has an homey Italian/European/African feel to it. It's just cozy for anyone. Then the meal is just perfect. I had a full, rich breakfast and lunch ranges from seafood to Mediterranean. I stayed in the dormitory bedroom, but it's so spacious. Jenny you are the best. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Although owner is extremely nice, rooms are not nice at all. There is almost NO water pressure and water is very slick. Surrounding is beautiful and this house is located on the end of the road. However this made us feel little bit threatened especially when main gate was open whole night while we were assured it will be closed. Overall we wouldn't pick this place again.

Mixed feelings, still quite certainly the worst highly-rated accommodation I've ever stayed at. The bathroom was not a nice place and twice I had to wash under the sink as the real shower stopped working. The rooms itself are quite basic but the sleep was surprisingly good(read:cool) when we left both the balcony and room door open at night. Location is also below average, quite a long walk from any beach and shopping. The restaurant prices were also highest we've seen in Zanzibar, even higher than seafront hotels in Kizimkazi. Overall, spend the rest extra bucks to get a seafront experience at the second best beach in Zanzibar(after nungwi)

Great place, owner is very nice person, so are the employees. We felt very welcomed here. There is outside garden where one can just chill and enjoy holiday. It's also possible to borrow a bicycle for free. The beach is close, but there are cliffs so it's better to swim between high and low tide. There is also a restaurant in the Mnana Lodge, food is really good and prepared quite quickly (given the fact you're on Zanzibar) We enjoyed our stay and felt very welcome here.

Excellent Hospitality by the owners. Rooms though small are comfortable for 2 persons. Breakfast was delicious. They took us for Dolphin Spotting, (at an additional charge) and provided very good instructions for the best possible chance to view the Dolphins.

I went there only for the restaurant but who could have thought I would eat one of the best pastas in my life in Zanzibar? Very nice place with warm staff and the food and cocktails are perfect.

We have been there for 4 days and it was amazing! We enjoyed everything! The food is really tasty and cheap, from the lodge is possible to do any kind of escursion, the place is an oasy of peace... surrounded by beautiful vegetation and flowers, there's a nice swimming pool, bicycles at costumers disposition and so so so on...! Than last but not least, the staff: Jenny, the crew and the super cute Darma are amazing, the will do everything you need to make your holidays greats

👍👍 Mama Root was by far one of the best places I've stayed at in a long time (and I've traveled a lot)! To begin with, I loved the calm of the hotel and the entire fisher village of Kizimkazi. So if your objective is to avoid busyness, noise and tourist masses, Mama Root is your place to go! The beach...

👍 Hotel with restaurant and swimming pool directly on the beach 🏖 very nearby Kizimkazi. Very nice garden, clean and quiet place with very nice stuff. They have coffee ☕ machine here so you can get espresso (quite rare to find here). Nice food and reasonable prices (from 15.000 to 21.000 TZS for main...

👍👍 CocoReef Ecolodge is the best place we had in Zanzibar. Why ? First because CocoReef Team is amazing. The team is composed with massai and local people, all so lovely. We spend really good time with Zakario, a massai, we shared our culture, we learned so much from him. He is the favourite person we...
