We had a terrible experience at this hotel. We were first checked into a room that hadn't been cleaned and were then moved to the adjacent room which happened to be right next to the elevator. The walls are thin and we could hear everything from the next room. The front desk agents who checked us in were less than courteous and had attitudes when we brought forth the deficincies. The laundry misplaced one of the four items we sent for washing and had an attitude when we asked them about the missing item. The bellwoman, doorwoman, housekeeing and lunchroom staff were courteous however we wouldn't recommend this hotel for future stays.

Overall it Just OK hotel, staff is not really friendly. I prepaid my trip but during checkout they give me surprise of additional 40,000 tanzania shillings by saying that we didn’t charge you properly when you checkin. Area is very noisy. Wifi was keep disconnecting and very slow also, keep asking for vouchers so i have to reception to take the new one. I probably won’t book this hotel again

One of the best hotel in capital city, best service in terms of food and beverage service, house keeping , front office , kitchen. Staff are amazing, well experienced, and polite. It's a standard star category hotel. What I get from the staff, in one word Is EXCELLENT SERVICE.

the rooms, breakfast, the bed everything is good just that at night time the receptionist's attitude was dull and a bit annoyed with what we were enquiring. Otherwise everything was nice.

Pros: Air conditioning, clean, has elevators, continental breakfast, blackout curtains Cons: Small room, lumpy pillows and bed, noisy busy street, tv satellite didn't work, small lobby (can't really hang out there), terrible free parking garage (fits 3-4 cars and you have to go down a steep angle to get there and can be trapped in by other cars so we paid for expensive parking across the street)

Good hotel as per the price. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good (they even make omelets as per your choice). Staffs are ok. Excellent location. You get everything within the vicinity. Restaurant is good (mostly Indian food). Have tried butter chicken masala and it was great. Restaurant manager is very friendly. Always ask about the food and gave good suggestions on things to do. Stayed twice in a week span.

Hopeless service and hopeless food. I ordered chips and they gave me such a little portion that even a baby cannot fill his or her stomach we told the waitress and she was just laughing. We had booked our room since last week and we come here and they say we have not booked our room. There is this one receptionist who is so lazy always on the phone and did not book our room. I WOULD PERSONALLY NOT REQUEST ANYONE TO STAY OR COME TO THIS HOTEL. Their food prices are so high but food portion is very very very small

The Appartments at Chelsea Hotel are very nice, spacious and comfortable setting. You also get a wide array of amenities and the room service is always on 100. You get a nice view of Daressalaam city on the 10th floor and feel the breeze.

Great location, kind and helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms. Points of improvement: breakfast was not sufficient and of low quality, missing sufficient soap/shampoo in the bathroom, better and more towels.

I was recommended this hotel by a safari guide and I’m so glad they did! Rooms were clean, cool and quiet, and reception staff so friendly! I had dinner at the restaurant there both nights and their Biryani is delicious! The price for the rooms is very reasonable and location is good. I would highly recommend here if you want a good nights sleep before/after safari! I think some people give bad reviews based on things outside the hotels control or their own problems (eg. Hearing car noises - you’re in a city with a population of 7+ million people, of course you will hear some cars! Also, I witnessed some guests being very rude to reception, but they responded calmly. Maybe be nice to people and they in turn will be nice to you…. Just a thought!). But anyway, I digress! Stay here and you will enjoy it.

Had a great time. Lovely staff. Nice food. Covid protocols too. My room was clean. They provide soap and shampoo complimentary tea, coffee and water in the room. Reception staff were good. I arrived very early before check in and they assisted with my bags and paper work. Introduced me to a good taxi driver-Doto had a clean AC vehicle πŸ‘Œ Location was great for my purpose too. Thank you guys. Will visit again the next time am in Dar. Definitely 4****

Bedrooms are big and comfortable, clean and very good conditions! Staff is nice! The Breakfast and the restaurant area are ok but could be better! The Breakfast doesn't have many options of food and not very good quality!

Excellent, clean rooms equipped with air-conditioning and a ceiling fan, but WiFi connectivity is really poor. This hotel also has great view of the city from the last floor terrace.

12.09.2012 We paid only 100,000 tzs. Good price. It was very clean and comfortable.

On the one hand, the room size, build quality, furnishings, cleanliness, service, price, and rooftop views are all good. On the other hand, the hotel and the adjacent buildings are just a few meters apart and many rooms lack privacy and natural light. Traffic noise from nearby Uhuru Street is always present. General maintenance could be a little better. The WiFi system needs a massive upgrade. Still, Chelsea Hotel beats most of the competition in this price range.

Nice hotel among similar price-quality in Dar Es Salaam: staff is very good and responsive food is good, breakfasts - for me is more than enough, rooms are clean and furniture is new. In general the place is very well kept, a lot european guests, wi-fi is great too. I wish all the best to this place!

Excellent hotel. Spacious and clean on a very busy street. Nice and quiet on the 9th floor. Good restaurant with fair prices.

There were roaches in my hotel room. I recorded a video and showed the staff. I informed the staff that I wanted to leave and I was due a refund because of the unsanitary conditions. The receptionist contacted the manage,r but he refused to give me a refund. The staff stated they would only be able to give me a different room. I left and found a better hotel at a cheaper price.

The hotel needs renovation, pictures are old. When we got in, the room wasn't ready. The worst thing was the smell of mold in the room. The staff was not helpfull or nice. Mixed our laundy with someone elses. The neighbourhood is not nice, no restaurants or services nearby unless you are looking for a new mattres or frying pan.. The rooftop restaurant which they advertise was never open. The only good thing was the food in 1st floor restaurant, which was excellent and the waitress was very lovely.

Where do I start… I have been staying at horrible. rat holes in Asia but this one takes the cake. The smell of mold was disgusting, the service was non existent and worst thing besides the smell was the noise from the streets, walls are built from paper, trafic is 24/7 with constant honking. On top of that there was a guy going round the block with a megaphone shouting constantly every 10 minutes, didnt understand what it was about but it sounded like he was rallying troops for revolution. At breakfast there was almost nothing left to eat besides some bread and instant coffee, only fresh thing was a banana. Laundry service was horrible I lost some of my shirts and got some one elses. Neighbourhood has no restaurants or cafes nearby. Rooftop restaurant was advertised in booking and in premises but was never open. Very unfortunate as almost all the other hotels we stayed in Tanzania provided excellent service with clean rooms and matching descriptions to booking sites. One positeve feedback for hotel is the excellent cook in their restaurant, truly some of the best meals we had while in Tanzania, also the waitress was very kind and helpful
