Really nice beach hostel with a restaurant on site with tasty food. I ordered the veggie burguer (it is worth to come to this restaurant if you are around just for it) and the eggplant curry. Also ordered the homemade hibiscus soda. You can still swim on the beach at low tide on the beach or just use the swimmingpool. If you like to meet other travellers this is the perfect spot due to its dorms where people from all over the world meet and the common areas where you’ll be able to chill around. They do also offer private rooms. The ever smiling staff was also very helpful. Kudos for your great job!

Let me start of by saying that the staff and the owner really put in a lot of effort to make the stay as good as possible. They are friendly, and accommodating and make the bar area feel chill and relaxed. Overall is the hotel/ hostel suitable for young couples or friends traveling, in my opinion, but is also good for families and children. The amenities are good and the pool is nice, lots of sunbeds with a great breakfast included. However, the room we got was not good, it was small with a fan that didn’t work well, outside bathrooms with cracked floors and an old shower. Not the best for the price you pay… Overall a good experience but make sure you get a room with aircon or a better fan.

Just spent an amazing week at this wonderful place. Absolutely loved the laid back vibe and the choice of places to chill out and enjoy the gorgeous views. So many people are clearly working hard to make this a special place to stay; from housekeeping to security guards, kitchen staff to bar staff. Special mention and thanks to Adam for being permanently cheerful and greeting the children by name every day, and to Ras Coco - what a kind and talented soul! We loved the live music on NYE and the effort the staff at New Teddy's went to to create such a gorgeous, atmospheric setting for the NYE barbecue buffet. We last came to Jambiani 20 years ago but certainly won't be leaving it another 20 years!

I stayed here for 3 weeks and it was such an amazing time. The atmosphere that this amazing team is creating with their lovely, helpful and personal way of doing their work is absolutely fantastic. The food is very good and also the drinks are very nice. The whole hostel area is very beautiful, clean and peaceful place. There are a lot of comfortable places to relax and also things like kite surfing, diving, beach volleyball and yoga.All in all a perfect place for anamazing time and great people

Everything was just perfect. I loved to stay here and enjoy the good food & drinks for 1 week. The Staff is outstanding!!! And the location is so relaxed and calm. If you are looking for a place to relax go to New Teddys. Selina is also really helpful with organizing some Trips on the Island.

Came for breakfast once and a drink at night while I was staying near by. Both were great. Very chilled place with a nice atmosphere at night. Shout out to Enoch one of the waiters who is on the ball and good at his job. Very professional and honest.

Amazing hostel, top 5 I have stayed in, in the world. staff is very friendly. They clean your room/bed daily (which I’ve never had at a hostel before) the only thing is the sand floors in the hostel rooms, sand gets everywhere, but hey you’re at the beach! Pool is super nice and they have great spots to lay out for the day all over the property. Solo traveling here met a few people, but best if you want a quite few days, if you want party head down the beach to paje.

The dorm room was hot and humid, and the mosquito nets were not helpful. I needed to douse myself in mosquito spray to get any sleep. The general vibe was that of a resort for a very reasonable price, and you have a great location with direct access to the beach. As a solo traveller, I did not find it was suited to my tastes as there were too many families and couples for me to enjoy my time and meet people. Food was good, just not amazing. The pricing was on average 10us per meal, so it was not cheap per se. Facilities were always kept clean and well stocked, so I never had any issues with the toilets, although the sinks occasionally ran out of water. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

We loved the location directly at the seaside as well as the relaxed atmosphere with a mix of couples, families and backpackers. Food was fine, service came always with a smile, but was rather slow (but, it’s Africa, so no issues with that). Rooms were also fine, but not as nicely decorated with local interior architectural elements as our first hotel on Zanzibar. The only litte downside was the music. We had days with 3 times the same playlist by Michael Jackson and Nora Jones. Just one single day African music was played (by Daniel Mtukudzi).

This place is Truly Amazing. We were a group of 18 people, and everyone felt so happy and well taken care of. The staff were so nice, the food was so good and the place is beautiful with the beach so close by. Really recommend!

Had the best time at New Teddy’s. The pool and the beach are great and the food and drinks are delicious. New Teddy’s also helped us organise our trips, biking to a local cave (Swahili cave, great for swimming) and a boat ride + snorkeling (this was amazing!)+ having a seafood BBQ on a sandbank. The trips were very affordable. The mixed dorm rooms do get a bit warm at night so if you want good air conditioning book a private room. Special shoutout to the bar staff, kitchen staff and Selina for making our stay so much more enjoyable!

Amazing vibe, friendly and laid back! We always love to come by and hang out for a relaxed day. Food and drinks are yummy and reasonably priced. The Pool, surrounding and view are stunning and all staff so welcoming. They also arrange regular events that are worth visiting if you're staying in the island for longer.

An amazing place for backpackers and families !! The dorms are spacious, beds are big and comfortable. It has been my home or my place to chill everytime I came back around Paje/Jambiani. The team is super friendly (I love them so much). The food is very good, with affordable prices. Do not hesitate to spend some time there, they will welcome you with a big smile !!

Beautiful complex right by the sea, very nicely designed. We were here for dinner twice. The menu offers a lot of choice, also for vegetarians. The drinks menu is on a par with this, offering a wide selection of soft drinks, tea, coffee, wine, cocktails and spirits. The staff is friendly and welcoming, sure it may take a while, but it is „pole pole“ in this country. We can highly recommend the Supermassive Saladbowl, it was delicious. Also the vegetarian burger, the quesadilla, the chapati wrap and the curry. My favourite Cocktail was the Strawberry Daiquiri, it is well prepared and tastes good. For a big shared starter, two main dishes as well as 2 Cocktails each and 1-2 soft drinks each we payed around 100.000 TZS (~40$) on both of our visits. 20$ p.P is a really good price for the quality and the amount we had. All in all we had two great dinner experiences at the restaurant. And we‘d count it to one of the best restaurants in Jambiani.

A great place to stay in Jambiani. Super familiarly. Nice combination of two dorms and a few private bungalows. Which made an awesome atmosphere. Great service and a very friendly and considerate staff. Leonie and Selina the managers are super helpful and can organize everything for you for very a good price. Everyone took good care for us and we enjoyed our stay here a lot. We highly recommend to come here. Best place to stay on the island. Thanks for everything.

I ordered beef steak and it was very salty, I couldn't swallow my food because of the salty tast. I tried to eat because I didn't want to complain, but it was too much. Also the fries were unbaked and when I asked to change my food or get discount they didn't want to. So I didn't eat anything and I needed to pay complete meal. Chef cook blaimed me and the waiter also didn't want to help or discuss. Very bad service!!!

Nearly 6 months after leaving, I just had a dream I was back at Teddy's, and it was the best dream I've had in a long time. The staff are the kindest, most genuine and hardest working people you can meet. You are guaranteed to meet loads of like-minded travelers. The food exceeds all expectations. All these reasons and more are why I'm still dreaming (literally) about going back.

Great place. Room prices are fair. The food is great and pretty cheap for Zanzibar hotels. Village outside is with the walk. Would come back during low Season to avoid the crowd.

We stayed at New Teddys for 9 nights. It was the best place I’ve ever been on holiday. The whole team are absolutely rockstarts. The whole place and everyone was super nice and welcoming from beginning to the day we left. It felt like saying goodbye to good friends. Everybody has an open ear and recommendations for day trips, tours and party’s. The location is a absolute paradise and you can see the love for detail and great hospitality. Everything is kept clean and very comfortable. Freshly prepared food and drinks are delicious and I’m already craving it back home. Best Guacamole on the island! Lovely service, stunning views, great swimming pool, great spot to hang out with your kids - or just with a book and one of their super yummy aperol spritz.

This is the place where you realise the "pole pole" and "hakuna matata" are more then just phrases. After a wholeday spent here, I can say that...THE LIFE IS REAAAAAAAAAAAALY GOD! The place is nice, cosy and secluded. There is a nice and big bar, restaurant, pool, seafront beds, hammocks, swings, and a really nice shade where you can read in silence (there is even a small library). Even though we've lost the volleyball match, the cold local beer(German lager style) made us happy. 😇 Not a fan of massage, but people looked rally refreshed after it. Like they say...when in Jambiani...do it slow...do it lazy...

The best place to stay in Jambiani! Great location and right on the beach with plenty of day beds so you can relax after doing some surfing, snorkelling or kites surfing. It’s perfect for solo travellers as it’s super easy to meet people in the dorms and there’s always a party on in Paje or Jambiani. There’s plenty of local food options on a close by and they also have a restaurant. The breakfast is filling and yum. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

The vibes of this place are just amazing! We loved our stay with our kids 10/7/3! The view, the pool and surroundings, the bar and restaurant and the owner ❤️! It is definitely a must to relax and meet nice people !

We really loved our week we spent at New Teddy's. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and helped us organise things like cooking lessons and a boat trip, all for a really good price. The food, smoothies, cocktails were all amazing and very very reasonably priced - the cheapest we could find - we ended up eating at New Teddy's pretty much every night. There are so many lovely chill areas, hammocks, beds, around the pool - you could easily spend a week doing not much here. A great mix of backpackers, solo travellers, digital nomads, couples, families. Our only critique is that there was no AC which meant it was a struggle to sleep during the hottest month of the year! We also had a private outside bathroom, but this did mean there were a lot of bugs to deal with amongst our stuff. However this is to be expected for the great price. Thanks so much for all the help in making our trip so memorable, and we'll definitely be back one day!

This is one of my favorite places , for the atmosphere, very relaxed and laid back. Great with kids, and prices are some of the best on the island for both food , drinks, and rooms.. Staff are so nice and cool, and the owners do great events, concerts, and other cultural activities. Besides from that they do a lot for the local community. Thumbs up for places like this.

Amazing staff, perfect location, yummy food and ultimate vacation vibes. Perfect place to wind down and have a wonderful vacation with great people too. We really loved our 5 nights in one of the private villas and would definitely come back! 😍 100% recommended :) P.S.: Reviewing this review I see that I used a lot of superlative words. As a German I generally don’t use them too often :D but for New Teddy’s they are more than appropriate! :)

I can't say enough good things about this place! Perfectly situated and beautifully decorated. The staff are all incredibly friendly and attentive. The food is excellent, the best we've ever tasted on Zanzibar.
