We have stayed at the Porto Veneziano several times over many years. The hotel occupies a wonderful location with spectacular views overlooking the Old Harbour. Many of the staff have been there for some time and are always, welcoming, pleasant and anxious to help. The included breakfast provides for all tastes with a combination of both hot and cold dishes, served in a new dining room opened in 2023. The clean and comfortable rooms are small but adequate and well appointed. There is a well stocked garden to the rear which provides a quiet space for those who wish to relax in a cool environment. We have already booked for 2024.

Schönes Hotel am Ende vom Venezianischen Hafen. Die vorderen Zimmer haben alle eine super Aussicht auf den alten Hafen und das Meer. Sonnenuntergänge mit tollen Panorama. Direkt an der Promenade gelegen ist man in 5Minuten im Zentrum und den Einkaufsstraßen der Altstadt. Sehr reichhaltiges Frühstück zur Auswahl mit aufmerksamen Service. Mir hat es gut gefallen und das Hotel ist auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen. 👍👍👍

Amazing location and views. The rooms are very comfortable. Excellent service too. Breakfast (a la carte) is super abundant and tasty. Very high quality products and you can have as much as you wish.

Fabulous. Lovely location. We just had lunch which was excellent and very good value. Glasses and cutlery etc were sparkling clean and we had excellent, cheerful service from Michel. The hotel interior, toilets etc were also spotless. We were just visiting Chania for the day or we would have come back for dinner.

We stayed at Porto Veneziano Hotel for two nights and it was great! The location is perfect by the Old Venetian harbour. They have free parking available, and we were able to find a spot each time although it gets busy. The breakfast was wonderful and you could sit on the tables outside with a view of the water. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful during our stay and even have beach towels for you to use. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay!

Our visit cannot be described as anything other than wonderful. In addition to the beautiful location at the harbor with the old town within walking distance, courteous and helpful staff, convenient parking spaces, outstanding breakfast and adequately sized rooms to feel comfortable, it was the personal commitment of the team that made the difference for my family and me. I absolutely loved our stay here! The best location, service and staff were all friendly. The breakfast was awesome! I rated the room 3 as I think the room is very small to a point that there was barely a space to place or open a luggage. It would have been perfect only if it was a little bit bigger. The value for its money is great! I would stay here again and I highly recommend it.

This was our 6th stay at the Porto Veneziano Hotel. How is it possible that the staff outdoes itself year after year? From its airy, clean and comfortable accommodations to the ever-smiling and attentive staff in the breakfast room, restaurant and bar, the Porto Veneziano is our one and only place to stay in Chania, Crete. Morning, afternoon or night, the atmosphere along the adjacent harbor walk, seawall and lighthouse is magical. We look forward to our next visit to the PV!

Great staff!! They bent over backwards to help you out get what you needed. I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are a little small, but that's expected for Europe. The location is the best!

We had a business trip there and everything was perfect! Its an amazing position in the city, you get everywhere in the inner city very quick and the view to the ocean is great to start the day. The Staff was always very helpfull and friendly! Everything was clean and had a nice greek flair! The breakfast was also amazing! Thanks for everything we will come back for sure!

Great location, staff were extremely attentive and very friendly. Our room was a little small, made it hard to open suit cases, however great views from the balcony. Breakfast is also very nice.

We spent four nights at this beautiful hotel on the harbor in Hania. The hotel is elegant and modern with beautiful rooms. But the most beautiful thing is the attentive staff who treat you like family and make your stay so wonderful. Every morning at breakfast, which is made to order the staff greeted you with a smile and got to know your wants and needs. We loved our stay here, and we were sad to leave, thank you to all the staff who made our trip so memorable.

Rated at only 3 star this hotel should be rated higher, the room, service, food & location are all 5 star & the breakfast is to die for, with 4 option menus or design your own from 3 pages of options.

This hotel was beautiful. The view from the balcony was of the Venetian Wall and harbor. The staff was so accommodating and went out of their way to provide outstanding customer service.

Best hotel stay I ever had. The staff were so attentive, friendly and sweet. The food was also quite amazing! I would 100% recommended staying there, get the room with the sea view, it is just wonderful. It’s also on the harbour and you can get to the old town easily.

We can't say enough good things about the lovely Porto Veneziano Hotel! The location is superb - right on the waterfront with a beautiful view out over the sea. Although central and conveniently located for access to Chania's old town, the hotel is quiet and relaxing in the evenings. The rooms are immaculately clean and the hotel staff are welcoming and professional. Breakfasts are free, and served on the harbour front - the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner is varied and excellent, catering to all tastes and needs. We shall definitely be returning to Porto Veneziano when we're next in Chania!

Perfect location, close enough to the action but quiet in the evening. The included all you can eat breakfast was incredible! They also packed a take away breakfast box when we left before breakfast one day. Staff was very helpful and rooms were clean and updated. Would definitely stay again.

We had two very nice days in chania and enjoyed our stay at the Porto Veneziano! The rooms are nothing to special, but very clean and some with a nice view over the harbour. The breakfast was perfect, as you could choose from a wide variety of local and international options. Parking is possible right behind the hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, even for the high standards on crete.

It was the first stay in Chania since the start of the pandemic. My wife and I felt safe in being hosted at Porto Veneziano Hotel. Special care and attention had been given to practical arrangements for keeping customers safe, during breakfast, at the lobby and in our own room. We were happy to note that the hotel now also provides a first class venue for lunch and dinner. We shall look forward to stay in this very hospitable and attractive place when next we visit Chania. It’s my favorite hotel in Crete! Porto Veneziano always makes my holidays better! Very clean rooms , very very polite and helpful staff. Hotel Porto Veneziano's best asset is its premium location directly on the harbor front facing west. GREAT sunset viewing! It's located away from the more touristed side of Chania but within easy walking distance of the restaurants and shops of Old Town. Many rooms have harbor front views. Rooms are well sized and feature comfortable beds with good linens and are relatively quiet. There is a large selection of breakfast items on the a la carte menu (due to COVID no buffet) to choose from and food is well prepared. The hotel restaurant and bar are open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and there are plenty of local waterfront options to choose from. The hotel is open year round so in addition to vacationers it also attracts a business clientele. Because of the hotel size it also attracts larger tour groups. If you are driving, there is a small hotel parking area (first come) and the road access is relatively easy. Laundry is also a good deal - EUR 9 for a bag turned over in a day!

The hotel is located at a very nice spot at the old harbour, where you can gaze the Lighthouse and the sunset perfectly. We stayed there for 5 nights and the overall experience was excellent. The room was super clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were both of high quality and also very tasty. Last but not least the staff was extremely polite and helpful and tried to ease us in every way possible. I definitely suggest staying at Porto Veneziano when someone visits Chania.

What a gem of a hotel! The location is perfect, the views are gorgeous. The staff is so helpful and went out of their way to support us. We asked for directions to a restaurant where we had reservations and they said there were better restaurants … so they made a new reservation for us. A wonderful place! The breakfasts were amazing. We felt so pampered. This is a great value!

The location of the hotel is just perfect, sitting alongside the old harbour with its cobbled stones and overlooking the lighthouse and the various speed boats that moore alongside. The service and friendliness of all the staff including the receptionists is second-to-none and the rooms are cleaned every day with beds made and fresh towels..... and the food is really good too!

3 stars which feel for a lot lot more. Service, courtesy, politeness, welcoming attitude are at just another level. Room spotlessly clean. Breakfast on the pier an added perk. It is a place that treats guests with love, our experience has been nothing short of wonderful (15-18 July)

I am totally impressed by this hotel and it exceeds my expectations. Although that it is a three star hotel, it delivers better experience than most of the four and five star hotels in America. The service is top-notch world class and makes everything unforgettable and special. The restaurant at the hotel has innovative and interesting menu with quality drinks and food, the staff is fantastic with broad in-depth knowledge of the items on the menu, the dining etiquette and the food industry as a whole. I would highly recommend this place for a perfect memorable stay in Chania!

A great hotel with a very nice breakfast (you can order from a big menu with traditional cretan and international food), free parking just behind the hotel and really nice staff. The rooms are modern and clean and I recommend the view to the harbour. The best place we stayed during our holidays - and we stayed at several places.

After checking a few reviews we booked Porto Veneziano due to the good location in Chania . It was as the first stop in Crete. To our surprise … staying here made an enormous difference in all our trip in Crete. Firstly , the arrival was super easy , they have private parking just behind the hotel and are situated in a perfect spot of the Port . We arrived quite early .. 10 am . Differently then when we arrived at any other hotel (that will ask you to wait for checkin time ) , Maria ( one of the lovely receptionists) gave us a very early check in, because the room was ready , offered us a bottle of wine as it was our wedding anniversary. The room was SUPER cute ! It had a gorgeous side view to the port . It is a small room, but so charming and well decorated, with the balcony and a lovely view ! The hotel is on front of the Venetian port. Fantastic location not inside the bustle , but in the quiet zone , sea front and 3 mins close to the busy side - walking . Your PERFECT breakfast will be served in the tables right on the port. Sooooo gorgeous! Watching the boats and port . You can choose to whatever you like ! It’s just a must !!!! Delicious ! The girls at reception gave us really good tips and directions and helped us with reservations . One of the best restaurants in Chania is “Chrisotomos “ and is just around the corner . They will find restaurants that you like . From the tables in front of the hotel you can also see the sunset sipping your favorite drink , with super service ! As we were traveling spontaneously, they helped us to plan our route in Crete for the next 5 days !!! We left after 2 days ( a little sad as we LOVED the hotel. ) But the best is yet to come . I had a problem and left a kindle in another location in Crete. They called me , advised me and coordinated all the delivery by express mail. And it was not even at their hotel… I ask you who provirdes such thoughtful assistance and go out of their way to help you . The staff at this hotel are outstanding !!! So - if it’s your first time in Crete , book this hotel. They will help you with restaurants and all your doubts and for sure you will LOVE the days you are there. Lovely Bed, super clean , lovely amenities , perfect location on the port ,Do get a car so that you can visit the main attractions, but also Just in front there are so many boat companies to get a boat excursion. We loved it . There is no doubt that we are going back next year ! Porto Veneziano Hotel . We have been in so many hotels , but the kindness and dedication of your staff , Maria , Agapi and Chrysa was simply superb. They work so hard to make you feel welcome and do it only to make you happy . So unique ! The guys at breakfast too , so patient and cheerful. How can your day in Chania not be wonderful!
