I’m not one to write reviews on a regular basis, but when it’s this bad, I feel people should be aware. This was the absolute worst hotel experience of my life. I paid for an extra night for early checkin sun my flight arrive early morning. I could not believe the horrendous smell in the hallway which got worse as we approached our room. Once inside I legitimately almost vomited from the smell (of urine)… and was horrified to see blood spatter on the walls and a dirty bathroom. I went to the front desk to inform them and request a refund for my weekend stay. They apologized and said they had another room available if we’d like to check it out. We did… it was in a different area of the hotel… not the best, but didn’t seem horrible and we were exhausted so we took it. Napped a bit, showered and left for the day. Returned that night around 11pm. While adjusting the blankets I found blood stains on the sheet. A lot of stains. These were not stains left after being washed either… dried blood. And we napped under that sheet earlier! I was completely mortified! This place is beyond filthy… to the point of being a health risk. We checked out immediately and just before midnight had to search for another hotel to stay at. On top of all this they only refunded 2 of the 3 nights (didn’t even stay one night).

Honestly I’ve paid a lot more for a lot less. This hotel is a good value. My room was clean and everything was quiet overall. Breakfast was good too, good variety. Raj at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again, though bear in mind they are NOT pet friendly, contrary to what the site description says.

This place should be closed pending renovations. Convenient location but in terrible shape. TV & WIFI not working, dirty carpets & almost everything in bad shape. We stay in La Quintas frequently because of their pet friendly policies, & this has to be the worst we've encountered. Bad for the brand.

Customer service was great.... Unfortunately the carpet in the entire hotel was very very very nasty. The hotel inner appearance altogether is horrible. The Ice maker was so filthy u couldn't even place a cup under it. The mirror & pics in room looked as if kids cleaned them. The bedroom weren't cleaned at all. I want to sell this is the worst Laquinta that I've ever been to. I will Def not return. Definitely would not recommend unless they remove or clean carpet. From entrance alone you can tell its going to be nasty. Proceed with caution.

Probably the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. There were a decent number of blatant problems that I personally was quite dissatisfied with the final output. Here is a list of problems I had seen over a 3 night stay: - Check out is at 12 pm, check in is at 3 giving house keeping 3 hours to clean the rooms that had been used throughout the night, especially ones that were prereserved ahead of time. Upon arriving at 4:30 pm and being handed the room key, it was found that the room had not been cleaned from the previous tenants to that the trash was still overflowing, towels were used, beds unchanged, etc. We were able to change rooms without issue. - Arriving to the newly assigned floor, the carpet immediately made me want to checkout and go somewhere else. This carpet was DISGUSTING. Parts had massive stains, smelt like rotten crab rangoon (which lingered the entire stay). I don't think it's ever seen a carpet cleaner. Photos attached. - Shower did not drain well - Housekeeping did not come the entire stay contrary to a sticker on the mirror saying that "beds and sheets will be changed daily unless the do not disturb sign is posted"- our room didn't even have a do not disturb sign. This also led to trash to be overflowing and to run out of toilet paper. We had to take from a housekeeping cart both a trash bag and toilet paper roll. Last I checked, hotels aren't supposed to be self serving. - Hotel is under a tiny bit of reconstruction so the current breakfast station is moved to a small conference room which is only able to hold two small tables. For a large hotel, I found this odd. Due to dietary restrictions I was not able to eat much of the provided food yet my party stated most the food was okay however they did run out of a few things while over the past weekend. In all, the hotel has much to improve on and I'd recommend staying somewhere else if you can afford it.

Edit: The hotel refunded my full stay and assured me they will take the proper actions to avoid any future guests having the same experience. Overall, there are better options available in the area for the same or cheaper price point. Please seek those out. I have been trying to contact the manager, Malcolm Riggs, to discuss my concerns listed below but he's a busy man who doesn't seem to be available anytime I call asking to speak with him or respond to my emails. My last attempt to call him, I was hung up on by the front desk staff. List of concerns for all the rooms I had rented: 1. I was charged an additional $25 for each room for my stay on July 20th without any notification. I now understand it was a security deposit charge that should be refunded 3-4 days, however I should have been notified of the charge at check-in. 2. I should have also been notified at the time of check-in that the property was under construction, and there would be disruptive noises starting early in the morning. Instead, my concerns the next day were dismissed by staff and was told that the construction on the 3rd floor shouldn't affect us on the 2nd floor. While also being told there was work going on in room 248 (right between rooms 246 and 250). 3. Room 226: Smelled of old socks in the room, the shower was dirty, and the iron barely worked. 4. Room 246: Smelled of old socks in the room, the AC unit didn’t work, the shower did not drain, the iron did not work, and there were construction noises and loud singing. 5. Room 250: Smelled of old socks in the room, the iron did not work, there were construction noises from the 3rd floor and the connecting room along with someone trying to open the connecting door to room 248, and housekeeping tried to come in at 8:30am. 6. Room 252: Smelled of old fish in the room (especially when the AC turned on), there was what looked like peanut butter and fried rice on the wall and door, the toilet didn’t flush properly, there were construction noises, and housekeeping came into our room without consent while we were sleeping. 7. The overall smell in the rooms and hallway triggered many of our allergies. 8. There was garbage piling up by the ice making machine. I had to request “Do Not Disturb” signs for our doors since they did not come with the room. We were moved from room 252 to 226, however the front desk was unable to move us from rooms 246 and 250 when requested. I usually have pleasant experiences staying at La Quinta and read wonderful reviews online about this location at the time of booking. However, our experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I was told email is the best way to get in touch with the manager when I requested to speak with him in-person at the time of check out. I have not heard back from anyone at the hotel. I highly recommend going to another hotel for your stay.

Probably the worst kept hotel. Hallways and common areas were filthy. Room was definitely not clean. Bed skirt was seriously gross and there was body fluids on the wall. When we complained about the condition we were met with rude staff and told "it's clean, not our problem." Horrible front desk manners. The employee stormed off and sweeped the room. I could tell he wasn't even paying attention to the fact the floors were dirty and we had bugs behind the toilet. The pillow had dried blood on it. Honestly, Do not stay here. Management has zero hospitality standards and ignores the glaring problems with cleanliness. The entire hotel smells of urine and mold along with other unpleasant oders. We ended up checking out within 10 minutes of arrival and staying somewhere else. We're out the money for this "one night stay". Never staying in a La Quinta again. Completely disappointed that this what the Wyndham family of hotels calls quality. Save your money, book elsewhere.

Pretty decent for the price. Not sure why so many people leave bad reviews for a $60 room. There are much more pricier places to stay nearby which I’m sure is much nicer. Room definitely had a small odor but the bed was extra soft and my room was spotless. There’s plenty of places to order food from in the area. They offer waffles for breakfast and the Dove soap dispensers was also a nice touch.

WORST HOTEL EVER! Do not stay at this hotel until it is cleaned up! This hotel must have had a fire or something. We went and checked in. Smell was bad, but thought it was just the hallway. Bottom floor had garbage bags or tarps covering the bottom of the walls. Carpet in hallway and room were stained and gross. Room had same horrible smell & bed had stains on it! Walked right back out! Still fighting with them because they charged me twice instead of refunding me!! Manager won’t call me back, and the front desk guy just keeps saying he’s a new employee! What a nightmare of a hotel! I finally called corporate! This hotel should not be allowing people to stay there!

Bed sheet and comforter were clean, bathroom was ok (the bath tub drain was a bit clogged). The carpets in the room looked dirty with some spots. Did not face any bed-bugs as the other reviews say. The hallway carpet was outright disgustingly filthy. Breakfast was ok, though the room is small. The rooms are non smoking, so that was a plus. Check-in check-out was quick with no issues. Ample of car parking spaces.

Place is dirty and has not been cleaned well. Carpets are disgusting, hallways reeked of smoke so much that you could smell it in the rooms. Bedsheets had hair and crumbs on them indicated that they hadn't been changed, half the lights in the room didn't work, and room had not been throughly vacuumed. Did not feel safe staying here. Definitely not what was advertised, especially for $140 a night.

The hotel has a musky odour through our. The bed sheets are in acceptable condition but a few have small holes. The furniture is definitely outdated! They do offer breakfast (didn’t try so can’t comment). Price is the only redeeming thing about this hotel. La Quinta isn’t my primary hotel choice and don’t have too many experiences with them but they’ve been better.

The people working here are really nice and helping. This said, the rooms are not that clean, there was a leak on the bathroom ceiling fallin straight to the toilet paper. I spent four days and never had any type of cleaning or new toilet paper, which wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the leak over the freaking toilet paper. It's cheap for a reason. Also is like 40 minutes away from downtown.

After the room was not cleaned for two days, I was told that I had to request someone to clean the room. This should have been told to us at check in. I had to ask for towels daily (only 2 in the room) and was told each time that I had to come to the lobby to get them. One of the times there was a cart full of towels near my room. I wasn’t sure why the maid couldn’t have been told to bring us towels. The hotel was under construction which we were also not told. Breakfast was done in a small room with only two tables. Everyone was on top of each other while trying to get breakfast and there was no seating available. Since the carpet and everything in the room was old, it did not particularly feel clean. The bed was comfortable though. The staff that I interacted with was friendly.

The price is great, the room are clean and the beds are comfort. The service of the front desk for all staff are amazing. Also its pets welcome hotel.. the dining are its clean but The only thing they need to fix is the breakfast ( only waffle ,old boiled egg)and coffee.( no creamer and the machine keep dripping the coffee in the floor). Other than that. Its good place to stay around Chicago.

8/10/23 The room was hot through the night, the picture frame near the headboard seems to be molded. The interior starting from the elevator through the hallway is Filthy. The interior of the hotel is worst than motel. I've seen motels far more cleaner. Worst hotel stay ever.

i would give the staff 10 stars if i could, they were amazing! the only reason i didnt give 5 stars is because they were in the process of remodeling (which i completely understand) and at 530am i was woken up by noises of a construction crew immediately outside of my first floor window talking loudly and breaking things apart. this wouldnt have bothered me had they started later in the day, but rain was in the forecast so while i didnt like it, again i do understand. the first floor was a bit tore up but my room was already finished as part of the remodel. very very clean, comfy bed, spacious room and all DOVE toiletry products. was surprised to see no more phones in the rooms but i suppose thats the way its going these days. give these guys another month or two to finish the final touches and in my opinion this will be a great hotel!!!

Jay That Was The Front Desk Worker Was SUPER SUPER Friendly And Cool. He Doesn't Mess Around When It Comes To Work! He Always Had Whatever We Needed As Soon As We Would Walk To Desk And Ask For Anything. Another VERY GREAT Person There Was Ryan. He's Gotta Be 30-32Yrs, Old But VERY RESPECT (Like Jay) And Helped Anyway He Could! The Room Was Also GREAT! But If You Check In And You're Greeted By Jay, You'll Be Just As Comfortable As Being At Home. Same Goes For All The Employees, But Ryan Was The Best By Far! I'd Def Recommend It And Be Back In The Future!

I was very disappointed with the front desk service. My room was reserved, and I believed that my card would be charged at check out. However they charged me about 2 days after I made my reservations. And charged an additional $25 hold. The overall appearance of this hotel did not live up to the LaQuinta brand name. It was close to the funeral home I needed to attend. Once again, it was a very disappointing stay

I think someone should call the health department. The hallways had a lot of crusted urine. Including every door jab. It was discussing. If we had not arrived at 3am, we would have left. The room was not full of urine but they made one of the beds using the same sheets as the last person. Floor was not vacuumed. Trash on the floors. Nicest thing about the room was the water pressure. We have stayed at many La Quinta's because we have a dog. We will definitely have to rethink on that for the future.. We expected alot more from Wyndham Hotel. Very disappointing. What a big waste of our money. We expected more being in a nice neighbor. Might want to go inside before paying.

Pros: Clean smell despite being a pet friendly hotel. Location is generally nice and close to most things like Target being a 5 minute walk away. Water pressure and temperature were both excellent! Breakfast was tasty and readily available. Cons: The hotel rooms are dated and run down. The tub's drain did not work effectively, and caused a backup into the shower while in use. The service leads a lot to be desired. This is a nickel and dime kinda location. Every request comes with a haughty fee attached. We arrived earlier than the 3 pm check in, and were charged $50 for early check-in. We requested a late check out and were told that the room would be $20/hr to stay in beyond the 11 am check out. Overall: if you need a decent location, that is good for sleeping, try it. There is nothing fancy about this place. Just don't make additional requests.

For some reason the management and the staff have been surveilling and stalking me on and off the property. I stayed here 7 days and there were people following me everywhere I went. They don't have security so they rely on the staff and other people as well as surveillance cameras as security. The management and the staff are mostly Eastern Indian and Hispanic. They have a couple of black people working here so they don't seem racist.

The room was comfortable but falling apart. The carpets were filthy but not just in the room. The hallway and entry carpets were also awful. I didn’t want to walk on them with my shoes on. The ceiling was chipping and the bathtub had a hole in it.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Completely dirty in the halls and rooms. Smells lingering, stains everywhere...EVERYWHERE. I honestly don't know how a place like this is still standing. I feel gross still even after leaving. We didn't stay the whole night. I just kept feeling gross and like bugs crawling on me. Come on with the money they make they should remodel it. Would not recommend, keep driving!

Rooms dirty, needs a vacuuming. We cleaned the bathtub ourselves. You could feel the soap scum on the sides of the tub. Front desk was helpful with us having to shorten our stay.

My visitor ended up checking out several days earlier than planned to choose a different hotel. The radiator in the room was loud, the bathtub had cracks that hurt his foot, hallways had a strong marijuana smell, and other guests were very loud. The hotel messed up the reservation (double booked). When he checked out, they charged my credit card instead of his and at a higher daily rate. The staff was not helpful in resolving this. I will never have my visitors stay there again.

It was sad never come here I left something just for them to throw it away after I called and let them know I was coming back to get it!!! The tragedy of it all is what they threw away cost more than the room itself!!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE!!!!

La Quinta inn has a beautiful name, but that is the only thing beautiful about this place. First thing you will notice is the dirty carpet rugs in the hallway and in your room. Secondly I was on the 2nd floor room 207 and the view is of a extreme long trash bin for excessive trash dumping and unclear edges and bushes that need trimming very badly and the lot of a small trucking business. Seriously I don't want to see that. Inside my room furniture is chip or nicks on table stand and one of me lamp stand did not have light bulbs period. But it is a quiet place and I did not get a chance to walk at night but I am hoping no one was just standing outside doing lord know whatever people does in the dark. But I gave this place a one start because of those reasons and also the front dest person just have a straight face no emotion certainly not happy to see me check in as to say welcome or dint give no greetings at all just a straight face to say my I see your driver I.D please. Ooh well. Everybody can't be friendly to everyone huh?

Overall had a decent experience. Hotel is under renovations so expect some messiness during your stay. Breakfast was good. Hotel is close to downtown Chicago (30 minutes) but it can be easily an hour or more drive with traffic, so plan accordingly. Full/queen beds are very small for two people (even kids) to fit. You HAVE to let staff know you want your room cleaned or need fresh towels, otherwise it won’t be cleaned. They can do better room cleaning after people check out. We found dirt and trash in our room upon check in.

There is no 0. Agree with other postings on the filthy condition. This was a great hotel. I had been staying there 3 - 4 times per year for over 10 years. It was my home away from home. Not anymore. It's disgusting. My shoes stuck to the evaluator floor which turned into a 3+ foot diameter black mess because it was not cleaned up for over 24 hours. The toilet seat was not attached at all on one side - I had to fix it. The shower grab handle came out of the wall when I used it - not safe. The carpets are badly stained; the furniture is damaged and looks overly worn; the blackout drapes have holes in them. The housekeeping staff asked me to complain about the hotel - that's how bad it has gotten. This has become a truck driver hotel and not for vacationing people. The hotel - and chain - started going downhill when Wyndham acquired it. Sadly, I will never return unless I read more positive reviews.

Do yourself a favor a DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! My family and I stayed at this hotel over the weekend and the staff was very rude. The sheets and towels had blood stains, there was an old Chick Fil A sauce bottle by the window (meaning the room was not cleaned), and they have bed bugs. The bathroom was gross and looked like the toilet had not been cleaned

The bed was comfortable and the hotel was located well (close to the freeway and a busy road yet I still thought it was quiet). My review is brought to one star due to the horrible management. We booked a King suite several weeks ago for two nights and they gave our room away and downgraded us. They "said" they would comp us the difference in price, but despite talking four different times to three people and calling the hotel to speak with the manager, nothing has been resolved. Go some place that is going to actually value and respect you. Worst customer experience I have ever had at a hotel.

Check-in was somewhat fast. Friendly desk employee. The walk to the room was very long and the smell in the hallway with all the trash just falling over the trash cans was bad. The ice machine that would have been closer to my room was broken so I had to walk around to the other ice machine. The bed was ok and the shower was nice. The breakfast was decent but no orange juice. When it comes down to it I would not stay here again.

I've been staying here frequently over the last few months. Last time I stayed there, internet was very poor but the routers were still functioning. Front desk staff didn't have any specific info on when it would be repaired, and it didnt improve. Stayed again on Saturday and the internet was totally down the whole day. Front desk staff (same lady as last time) had no information about when it would be fixed and wasn't doing anything to further expedite the process. She gave me contact info for her manager who didn't respond to my outreach. Front desk staff the next morning wrote down my info to pass to their supervisors, who also didn't end up reaching out to me. Paid full price for a stay where they didn't provide the one thing I actually needed. Definitely won't be returning.

Dated. Budget friendly. Worn common areas but a clean room. Decent front desk. Dog friendly. Could use a friendly smoking section outside and better stocked vending machines. Minor complaints. Ice is on the 2nd floor only. (2nd floor vending was only one with product too)

It’s a run down place, the rooms had moist smell and are extremely dated with old equipments and furniture. The lobby area had probably 25 year old dirty carpets. Breakfast was very poor didn’t even have basic bread slice or waffle, fruits, or black tea/coffee. The staff lacked any hotel management professional experience. So far it was my worst motel stay ever. Not worth the money.

The whole hotel is a slum. It had small bugs everywhere, large dog and garbage everywhere. Entire hotel is run down. Entire hotel smelled like smoke which triggered my asthma. I didn’t feel safe so I didn’t stay and the hotel refused to refund me. This hotel needs to be closed down.

Gave it two 🌟 because the rooms were decent. There were a few downsides and annoyance. When we first checked the room, everything was fine...until we turned on the light in the bathroom that also turned on the vent which was blowing smell of cigarettes. I'm very big on breakfast, need the first meal of the day to get my energy going...it was disappointing. The only option that were available was carbs. By no means am I saying that because of fitness or lifestyle. However, not having the option to have eggs and sausage was disheartening, because protein is a must for your first meal of the day. ACTUALLY the morning I was checking out I overheard one of the staff members saying they will be serving eggs and sausage the next morning...after I have been there for a WEEK! Thankfully there was a Denny's, that was only a minute ride, to get a decent breakfast. What seem odd during my stay is that the housekeeper never came to our rooms to at least change the towels. I can understand maybe not touch the bedding while we were, but to not give us fresh towels each day was extremely odd. We had to keep going to front desk to ask for fresh towels and most of the time they have ran out and would only be able to give one. Unless they improve in the stuff they lack in, I wouldn't recommend to anyone to stay here. Only if it's a one night stay

Hotel is under renovation. Room was OK. Had a mini fridge and microwave but plenty of places to eat in the area. Someone was smoking and the smoke entered my room. Had to sleep with the heater on and window open. For the price, it was tolerable. It will be interesting to come back after renovation.

Booked 4 rooms for Labor Day weekend, 4 nights. All rooms had a very strong smoke/tobacco stench when there are signs in the rooms clearly stating “smoke-free room”. There were blood-like stains all over the floors and beds, it was gross. Room service never came for the entire stay even when asked IN PERSON to attend the rooms when we were on our way out. We took our own trash to the dumpster in the parking lot, stocked our own toiletries, and did everything ourself. Toilet in 1 room was leaking for 2 days before they actually came and did something about it. No room change was offered. I will never book this place, and never will recommend it. You’re better off booking Delta hotel across the street from this place!

It's an ok place to stop if you are just sleeping and going. I wouldn't stay here more than a night. Building is old and bathrooms are not updated. Room was clean and ready when we got there. Location is very convenient, right off the highway. They let pets stay as well!

Breakfast was great. A alittle incovencienced and no hot water for 1 day and half because there was construction but overall a great stay. Managment provided complimentry stay and was very polite and helpful. Enjoyed good service from the hotel overall. Room was nice and clean.

Dirty. Here for stay to play hockey tournament and was charged $168 a night. After finding fleas in the room, we were given authorization to cancel reservation and get a refund because we were already checked in. Still waiting on $500 refund. This place is possibly a trap house/pay per hour and we didn’t feel safe. Though the staff was super friendly, I am done with LaQuintas for life.

  • 1/5 Kristin 1 year ago on Google
Updated: Front desk very helpful, was given refund. If you have asthma, reconsider this stay. So disappointing. The room reaks of cigarette smoke, and it looks like someone put out a cigarette butt on the wall. Seriously? We were given no instructions on how to find the room until we asked. I booked a king room in advance, called to let them know I was checking in late and they said that was okay. I arrive, they only have double beds available. We love Wyndham, or we did.. Nope. This is the last time we book with this company.
