The
Taverna
Ópa
is
a
relatively
small,
bright,
modern
and
clear,
but
tastefully
decorated
Greek
restaurant,
away
from
the
so-called
standard
Greek.
We
came
across
the
small
restaurant
in
the
old
center
of
Da.-Eberstadt
by
chance
and
were
given
a
very
warm
welcome
when
we
spontaneously
asked
for
a
table
for
two
people.
The
manager
of
the
house
and
a
young
female
waitress
looked
after
us
very
courteously.
Various
dishes
were
offered,
including
fresh
fish
from
the
daily
menu.
The
repertoire
here
includes
significantly
more
than
is
usually
offered.
Since
we
were
more
in
the
mood
for
meat,
we
had
the
classic
gyros
and
a
mixed
plate
with
gyros,
souvlaki
and
bifteki.
Tasty
fried
potatoes
and
a
very
delicately
prepared
side
salad
were
served
with
this.
As
a
starter
we
chose
an
eggplant
and
pepper
cream,
lightly
flavored
with
garlic,
which
was
served
with
freshly
roasted
baguette
that
was
also
subtly
seasoned
with
garlic.
A
very
tasty
and
pleasantly
spicy,
typically
Greek
starter
combination.
The
main
dishes
were
excellent,
the
meat
was
of
truly
outstanding
quality
and
tasted
far
beyond
what
you
would
expect
from
classic
Greek
restaurants.
The
fact
that
the
homemade,
mild
and
yet
very
fine-tasting
tzatziki
is
served
in
a
semi-circular
layer
of
onions
also
shows
that
the
kitchen
is
carefully
considered
and
sophisticated.
A
literally
juicy
homemade
walnut
cake
with
a
scoop
of
vanilla
ice
cream
and,
one
could
say,
an
espresso
that
meets
good
Italian
standards,
before
the
house-made,
pleasantly
mild
ouzo,
which
was
served
on
the
house,
rounded
off
our
evening.
The
Òpa
tavern
is
not
cheap,
but
it
is
100%
worth
the
price!
Really
the
best
Greek
restaurant
we
know
of,
it's
worth
a
slightly
longer
journey
here.
