Altogether
a
good
place
to
stay
while
in
Darmstadt,
conveniently
close
to
the
station,
mostly
friendly
staff.
There
are
three
points
I
would
like
to
highlight
nevertheless:
-
Bedding.
Pillows
could
be
more
comfortable,
one
small
square-shaped
down
pillow
is
provided
per
single
room.
Fortunately
for
this
there
is
a
solution,
as
the
hotel
staff
is
readily
able
to
provide
a
pillow
on
request.
-
Keycards.
The
hotel
hasn't
yet
switched
to
RFID
card
technology,
these
hotel
cards
are
magnetic
and
demagnetize
quite
easily.
Be
mindful
of
where
you
place
your
key,
or
you
might
end
up
going
back
to
the
reception.
-
The
coffee
machines.
There
are
two
coffee
machines
in
the
open
area,
one
is
connected
to
a
vending
machine,
the
other
one
is
in
what
the
hotel
considers
the
"breakfast
area"
(yet
still
part
of
the
lobby
space).
During
my
visit,
the
vending
machine
was
mostly
faulty,
so
I
used
the
breakfast
area
machine
on
a
few
occasions,
after
being
invited
to
do
so.
On
one
occasion,
one
gentleman
of
the
reception
staff
approached
me
in
an
unfriendly,
audible
and
upset
tone
from
the
other
side
of
the
lobby,
and
warning
that
what
I'm
doing
is
"wrong",
as
the
machine
is
for
the
"breakfast
area",
and
that
I
should
wear
gloves
to
use
the
machine.
On
the
latter,
the
gentleman
was
right,
hygiene
is
critical
due
to
the
pandemic
situation.
I
had
already
disinfected
my
hands,
but
in
light
of
the
pandemic
I
should
have
followed
the
hotel
SOP
to
use
the
facilitated
gloves.
On
the
former
point,
access
to
the
breakfast
area
machine,
I
would
suggest
the
hotel
staff
to
just
close/restrict
the
machine,
or
simply
put
a
clear
signage
that
the
machine
is
not
for
guest
use
outside
breakfast
hours,
and
so
spare
me
and
other
guests
the
experienced
discomfort.
I
can
afford
my
own
coffee,
and
don't
want
to
be
treated
as
a
free-rider
for
such
a
trivial
offence.
To
the
hotel
management:
You
are
in
the
service
business,
and
we
are
your
customers.
The
issue
at
hand
is
not
that
your
staff
warn
your
guests
when
something
is
not
right,
but
that
you
train
your
staff
to
at
least
do
so
in
a
friendly
manner
at
all
times.
