I went in with a couple of concerns, as well as some forms I needed filled out which I was told multiple times they were able to do. Once I was there I was told the nurse I was seeing couldn’t fill any prescriptions or fill out the paperwork so they would get back to me once she spoke with a practitioner. I had to reach out to them as they weren’t getting back to me, the receptionist told me the nurse was out and she would get back to me the following day. The nurse reached out and said there’s nothing they can do - couldn’t fill out the forms - and told me to “address my issues internally” If it were communicated with me from the beginning that they don’t fill out the forms I required I would have just waited for a government health practitioner to be available.

Was told I have to join a monthly subscription for 25$ to be able to make appointment, and there will be 20$ per appointment, which is fine. But I was also promised that I will be guaranteed to have a spot at the scheduled time. So my appointment was made to be on Monday and the nurse rescheduled it in the last hour before my appointment to the next day. I had to make rearrangement at work so I could go again, fine. Then I went the next day and saw the nurse, she was polite and she told me a doctor will get back to me in 48 hours. 48 hours? I paid 45$ extra for delayed service :) OK. Now it's been 72 hours, there is no one picking up the phone and no I didn't hear anything from the doctor. At this point I am on my way to self healing and will go to a free walk in clinic tomorrow since there is no point waiting. I have left voice-mail for customer service. Please cancel my subscription and refund partial fee for my appointment since only partial service was delivered. Thank you.

I was given wrong information over the phone even though I called in twice to confirm. I was told adamantly that I would be able to have my prescription renewed there even though I wasn't. I was told my subscription would be cancelled even though I called three times and it still hasn't been cancelled. I have had 3 charges from them so far, and continue to get billing emails from them, the only way to get them to stop charging my card was to cancel the card. I still continue to get emails saying I'm behind on their billing, even though I have asked them to cancel 3 times. I have only received a refund for 1 of the 3 charges, even though 3 people I've spoken to over the last month said that the other two will be refunded. I would tell anyone to stay away from this place, they are here to take your money and not deliver on any promises, and will continue to keep billing you.

The business name on Google is Walk In Clinic and the description from the owner says Walk-in Clinic. It's not a walk in clinic. They cancelled my first appointment but I haven't been able to find a refund in my cc history for either the appointment or the subscription fee. A month later I made an appointment to deal with something urgent, since the walkins are all impossible to get into. My appointment got rescheduled twice so I ended up waiting 5 days. I was asked a bunch of questions and told I would be contacted with recommendations later that day or Monday, which would take me to a full week since my original appointment. I still haven't heard back almost 2 weeks later. I emailed the nurse I visited a few times and got no reply. Today, I got a Delivery Failure when I tried to email her, saying the address does not exist.

I had my appointment cancelled twice in the last 2 weeks, so I rescheduled for a 3rd appointment that happened today. I waited today for 20mins, then the lady said I had 10mins left and said that they check the waiting area often for people Waiting, which was a lie. I told her that If you are going to poke your head out of the door to see if anyone was waiting don’t put chairs behind the wall. I Called customer service line to complain, and was transferred to the office administrator/manager’s line, which went directly to an automated voice message in French. It spoke too fast for me to understand. I think I was supposed to leave a voice message, but how do I know if I can’t understand French? I really needed my knee brace and ultrasound referrals, 2 weeks ago. If I knew this was going to happened today, I would have been better off to sit at the regular walk in clinic for hours to get the really paper referral immediately.

Multiple issues over a short period of time. Had an appointment August 12, 2022 and needed a requisition for bloodwork which I was told I would receive within a week's time. It is now September 22, 2022 and despite several e-mails and phone calls they still have not sent me the requisition form to go get my blood drawn and say they cannot give me an estimate of when I will receive it. I was told to stop taking medication for 2 weeks leading up to having my blood taken, so I have now been off that medication for 6 weeks and am experiencing side effects due to their delays in allowing me to get my blood taken. Edit to add: after posting this review, I received a phone call from the clinic right away, promising me my blood work requisition form within 24 hours. It's now October 8th, it's been 2 weeks since that call promising me my paperwork by the following business day,, and still no blood requisition form in sight. A second edit: after finally receiving my bloodwork requisition form on October 24th, I showed up at the bloodwork clinic on November 15th and neither the RN or physician number on my paperwork were registered as being licensed and valid in Nova Scotia. I was turned away from having my blood taken and I was asked to contact the Algomed clinic to tell them to register with the province! Other concerns: They have "accidentally" booked me in and billed me for random appointments and only refunded me when I called to complain. It is dangerous for them to have your billing information on file unless you are going to closely monitor for random charges like this. They have also "accidentally" cancelled my membership immediately following one of my in person appointments, which they only realized when I called to follow up about my missing requisition form and referrals, and they informed me that I wasn't showing up as a patient in their system anymore, which leads me to believe they may be very quick to drop patients without informing patients of this. Although I am a paying customer I am not able to access the web portal to book appointments online and must go through the phone service. They cite IT issues with the web portal, but after 3 months and several calls there is no resolution to allow me to access the online portal. I escalated and was told to download the Algomed app instead of using the website, but when I downloaded the app it wouldn't work either so they back peddled and said there was an issue with my account setup and I would need to call by phone and receive my paperwork/requisitions by email instead, even though they prefer to not do that.

****EDIT*** I have called and left a message several days ago and the owner has not returned my call, as requested in the reply to my review.*** Before I signed up I asked if they do pap smears. The person on the phone said yes. Made an appointment and was told "we hope to do them soon". Gave me some other phone numbers of (publically funded) well women's clinics to call and book and appointment. Could have done that myself for free. Asked for blood work to check for pancreatic cancer markers. The blood form I was sent had prostrate cancer markers checked off. Had to ask for the proper one again. Now I've been trying to cancel my subscription for over a month and no one will return my emails, and their phone system just leads you in a circular hell where you can never talk to a person. Going to have to call my bank and stop payments I guess. Although the nurse (you don't see a doctor) was friendly the office equipment is very old and sketchy looking.

Pretty sad clinic. No response from customer service regarding subscription payment. Clinic has also cancelled several appointments and not refunded money. Update: Has the Dartmouth location gone out of business? Algomed has yet to take subscription payments, and has assigned me a nurse who is in Quebec, also has not refunded monies for cancellation of appointments. Has yet to respond to 72 emails. And have now been billed 70$ for what I don’t know, no response from billing or customer service. Update now over 100 emails requesting an explanation of charges. Update still have not received refund or explanation of charges. Currently on hold for 45 min. Absolutely ridiculous. Never got through, tried the second day and finally got an answer machine. Have left a message, I will be going to office and collecting.

This clinic offered quick and convenient solutions to my medical concerns. I appreciate how timely I was able to connect with someone and that they allowed time for me to ask all of my questions. The responses they provided were detailed and helped bring peace of mind. I highly reccommend this place!

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by the nurses at this clinic for SEVERAL reasons. The lack of follow through and communication is unprofessional and beyond inconvenient. Do not waste your time or money on this clinic. They have a long way to go to work out their staffing issues and to ensure professional behaviour and actions from their nurses.

I received a job here in March of this year. They keep half of what you make but $60 an hour still sounded good if you had a full hour booked. I was told that orientation would be in a few weeks. I waited. I didn’t hear anything back. I attempted numerous times to contact this company re a job as I had seen a new job posting listed on a job board. I got the run around plus an email that did not work. I’m just reading these reviews for the first time and my jaw is on the floor. They need a nurse practitioner in order to write any kind of prescription or lab req. RN’s can only work in their scope of practice.

For basic needs, prescriptions, physical exam, bloodwork etc I found this place to be good value. There was a small delay initially when first setting up but currently using the app provided and directly saw a Nurse Practitioner on visit. Clean, friendly, easy to use.
