I don't know when Joe is coming back from diving, but the person he left behind for handling his WhatsApp is doing a terrible job. I have experienced a total disrespectful and unprofessional behavior while trying to get some info about dives. And after I have expressed my dissatisfaction for this behavior, I only got more insults. From the dive schools that I have contacted in Bali, by far this was the worst customer experience that I have witnessed. No matter how good are you with your dives, you need to learn how to treat people through social media. Making it personal just shows how serious your company is.

Went with Joe's for fun dives at Padang Bai and Tulamben, over 2 days. Dive instructor Edi has over a decade of diving experience and I and my partner had the best time with him. Everything was smooth, from hotel pick up (if staying in sanur), the drive to the sites, the boat to take us to the dive site (also owned by JGD), the diving itself, to the meals after diving. Also, JGD prides themselves on their big fluffy towels - tried them and indeed they are one of the best things after a dive! :D

Went on three days of diving with this shop. Nat had recently gotten her open water certification and I had roughly 40 dives logged. Day 1 was at Padang Bay (easy currents but entirely forgettable, this was intentional just to shake off the rust). Day 2 was Tulamben Wreck and Day 3 was at Manta Point. Manta Point in my opinion was the only “must dive”, obviously for the mantas. In terms of instructors, we had Joe who was very patient with Nat as she had trouble equalizing initially, which we appreciated.

Had an amazing experience here. We completed our PADI open diver certification (did the referral course from the US). We asked months in advance if they would accept our Referral from the US, since we heard some stories about different systems, and they were very responsive and walked us through all the necessary paperwork to avoid misunderstandings and miscommunications. As a result, we had a seamless experience and were able to practice our skills immediately in the ocean. Edi, our dive instructor, is the best. He was super patient, high energy, and positive. We were quite nervous about our skills but he reviewed them with us well and when we struggled he took extra time to make sure we were feeling comfortable. We definitely did some challenging dives - lower visibility Padangbai and shore dive in Tulamben with strong waves. At no point did we feel unsafe or uncared for. Thank you Edi and Felix!

My daughter and I were planning to go to Bali but didn't know how best to spend our days. Looking into the options, we discovered that scuba diving was among the top attractions. We decided to do it and inquired of several dive shops in the area via Email. The folks from Joe's Gone Diving got back to us without delay and were very accommodating, so we felt like we belonged there. We did a 3-day open water course which included one day of pool training and two days of ocean diving to get our certification. Our instructor, Kyle, began the first day by fitting us with gear. He was very attentive to our needs and concerned for our comfort and safety. We spent about three hours in the pool learning the necessary skills one step at a time. The next day, it was the big time...SCUBA in the ocean! We were picked up at our hotel and driven with the instructors to a well-known dive site with excellent reefs and sea life. We took two dives, had lunch, and were driven home. The next day we finished our course with two more ocean dives and received our certification. The team at Joe's was top-notch. They had everything figured out, from transportation to snacks to showers after the dives to lunch to scuba gear. We didn't have to worry about any of our needs being fulfilled. And, above all, with all the fun we were having, it was obvious that our safety was their first concern. Thank you, Kyle, and the rest of the team!

Great Diving Experience. Very personal and friendly. Good value for money. While we saw other dive companies bring their customers into a dangerous area with big waves close to the rocks, our instructor made sure to keep us in the safe area. Highly recommend

We have been diving with Joe for the past 10 years and they are our 'Go To' dive shop. New faces but still the same level of high standards on service and safety. We visited Bali last May '22 just after Bali opened up and had an amazing time. They picked us up in Ubud with all the gear, which saved us some time of us going to their shop. During the dive the instructor watched over us, offered to be our camera man (thx!), Did a quick refresh course. Looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommended

Great staff and well run dive shop w friendly smiles here at joes. What more could u want from your local dive shop. This was my second time diving w them in Bali and it was top notch again. 👍🏼 My girlfriend did her open water and I chose to fun dive with her to share the experience as I’m a dive master already. We were impressed w all the small things and that’s how u know a dive shop is a well run business imo. From the great lunches to the prompt pick up times and laughs on the bus heading to the dive sites we enjoyed the experience and amazing people at joes. In all we did 6 dives w joes this round as we did a fun diving day to celebrate her completion of her open water cert. We headed to manta point w joes and it did not disappoint on only her 5th dive ever she got to drop in on top of oceanic mantas and fulfill a life long dream. Huge thanks to the team and her great instructor nanne who was so patient as she had minor issues getting her ears to cooperate “she had tubes as a child” so never give up on your dreams🙏🏼 🐠 I highly recommend you come and be a fish and dive w joes 🍻

Excellent service, I highly recommend! The team picked me up on time and I had a great refresher session at Padangbai after 3 years since my last dive. I was lucky to have 2 amazing instructors, Rigana and Joe, who took the time to review with me all the basics before diving. We did 2 dives are were able to see - on top of the coral and different sort of fishes - 2 incredible turtles. A great lunch and the drop off were also included in the package. Will definitely go there again!

Highly recommend Joe's! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From booking my open water course a few months in advance to being dropped off at my hotel after the final dive day I can’t fault Joe’s gone diving, so much so I’m returning to do my AOW. The communication from the owner during the booking process was/is amazing, very fast replies, super friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very patient(I ask heeeeaps of dumb questions, and I know it)… I actually didn’t feel like a customer more like a friend! all this made me really comfortable and excited to start my dive journey! There is nothing left to chance and it’s so hassle free, everything is prepared from dive gear hire to charter boats to dive spots also awesome lunch! Modern car transport to dive spots, good quality gear to hire, instructors are rad, great price but it’s the little things that they do to make your experience memorable… by the end of it felt like a couple friends going out diving… great experience and looking forward to seeing you soon!

My Instructor Rolf was amazing, since I was the only one that day I got a completely independent and private coaching, if you have the time definitely should do the 3 day course directly. Because after your first dive you will definitely feel like you want to be a professional diver!. Nice place, nice food and comfortable transportation. Thanks Felix and Rolf for a great experience!.

Did my open water certification with Edi, fantastic instructor that did so much for us. The training pool and offices were clean and well maintained. They also had equipment that fit all sizes. Moving into the water, Edi made sure to rectify any mistakes promptly and always kept a watchful eye out for us, even whilst looking for interesting fish to point out to us. Overall a superb experience and would recommend Joe and Edi for anyone looking for a course!

I got my PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water here. I only had a little snorkeling experience and 0 diving experience before I went here for my PADI Open Water. Communication before had was great! Harald, the general manager, often contacted me himself since we are both Dutch. This was really helpful. Regarding my PADI Open Water I had done the eLearning course at home so we could focus on the practical stuff. I was the only student in the group so I basically got private lessons. My instructor was Ethel who was really friendly, helpful, patient when needed and also humorous at times. He did an excellent job! The provisions during the course (equipment, drinks, food, etc) were more than sufficient which provided a really comfortable experience. The first day day of the course we spent in the pool followed by 2 days of ocean diving on 4 different dive sites (2 locations). While the diving education was the main priority there was always some time to explore and admire the beautiful surroundings and breathtaking marine life. I enjoyed it so much that I came back within a week to get my advanced open water. For my Advanced Open Water I really wanted to go the a certain dive point which wasn't on the schedule that time. My dive instructor Ismail went out of his way to make this possible after all. I really appreciated this and it's great too see such a flexible attitude. My dives during the course were great and Ismail did a great job guiding me through it. Once again there was enough some time to do some exploring and I got to see even more great marine life and even got to see a Mola mola which I had not expected but secretly hoped for. I felt so lucky! I can't speak for the other dive schools on Bali but I can definitely recommend Joe's Gone Diving!

Booked on the spur of the moment after my barrier reef dive last week from Cairns got cancelled twice due to bad weather. Booked Joe's because of lots of good reviews and proximity to my Bali villa in Sanur. Great experience! Prompt pickup from villa, easy and fast equipment checkout. What I liked most is its a total package. All you need is dry clothes to finish in. They give you everything else including water, towels, lunch the lot. Great dive sites. I was lucky it's the quiet season and there was only me, so one on one diving experience in two sites. And the most comprehensive debrief ever. Totally satisfied, highly recommended!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience diving! Our dive master Chris was awesome and super helpful! We got picked up from our Air bnb and drove to Tulamben to do the USS Liberty wreck dive. The car was super comfortable and couldn’t have been better. The equipment was good, no complaints there at all, felt extremely safe and well looked after. Highly recommend these guys - we would love to do more dives with them in the future!

Awesome dive shop go get PADI certified. Booking with the owner was seamless over WhatsApp and the instructors were really patient with teaching and guiding students who weren’t as confident in the water.
