Finally got to eat at this renowned place on Nabami of Durga Pujo this year. We ordered a Medium Fish Fry (Rs. 180) and a Fish Orly (Rs. 130) and loved both. The fish fillet in the both the items was fresh, moist, and quite thick. The coating was perfectly crisp and not too thick. The orly was a bit oily though since it was refried. Really surprised with the standards they maintained during the Pujo rush and can't wait to visit them again!

Ordered Mutton mughlai paratha-₹110 Fish Finger(4 pcs)-₹140 Mughlai was great.Stuffing was also nice. Mughlai was prepared like kabirajis(egg bathed before frying).The aloo sabzi given was also delicious. Fish finger was also tasty. Overall a good experience.

The best fish fry I have ever had. Best Fish kochuri I have ever had. Tried fowl cutlet also. Chicken was juicy. The price tags are justified I would say. Had to tackle a huge crowd in Sunday evening. Highly recommended place as per me. Upon second visit tried their bhetki singara, which they have newly introduced in place of mutton singara. Too good. Small chunks of bhetki fish only in the inside. The outside is moist and tender. Price Rs 60. Also tried prawn cutlet. More than one jumbo prawns 🍤 fried in a crispy cutlet. Price 200

Apanjan is one of my favourite place for evening snacks. Apanjan is locatiod near Kalighat Metro Station Gate No. 1. This is basically a take away food joint. They are famous for their fish fries, fish kachuri, kabiraji etc. We tried their famous fish fry and fish chips. Both the items were just fingerlicking good. The inner filling was made by original bhetki and the outer layer was thin. Must try their fish fries.

Fish fry, fish Kachuri, radhaballabhi are just mind blowing. Like one of the best I ever had. Only disadvantage like you cannot have seating arrangement. Takeaway is the best option. If you are eating it in front of the shop then don't miss the Sodalime, Shikanji just opposite to Apanjan. 😊😁

Yap, some of the items are good have some issue with Fish fry, took a large fish fry, in terms of quantity of fish one should say see how thick it is and original Vetki etc. Etc. But i feel somewhere fish inside was not well marinated or marination time was less. On the otherhand chicken kobiraji was excellent. It's small stomach hence lot of itemsbare remaining will come with further review.

It was established in the year 1982,the delicacy of the food is so so so much authentic with gangatic fish specially vetki stuffed with heavy fillets,must try fish diamond fry it is the signature item of Apanjan

Food quality is quite good....but the items are overpriced....a vegetable chop costs Rs 20....a fish kabiraji which is large in size costs Rs 190....Rs160 for this size of kabiraji is enough...most of the items in the menu is overpriced.... experience is not that good ...it is mediocre

We tried fish fry ( large) , fish orli and chicken kabiraji.. The fish items were awesome. Chicken kabiraji was average. Had to wait for 5 minutes. Cash and UPI accepted. About 3-5 mins walk from Rashbihari More.

Went there many times.This time tried midimum fish fry,Bhetki fish moglai porota...As always both their dishes were nice..Fish portion in fish fry was huge..It was served with one piece of potato fry and salad(4/5).Bhetki fish moglain porota was served with alur dum and salad.It was delicious.(4.5/5)

Nice snack shop. But there was huge crowd,and obviously for it's quality.We ordered a plate of fish finger(4 pcs) and a diamond fish fry. In every item the portion and filling of fish was appropriate. Each item was tasty 😋 and mouthwatering.

One of the best, and oldest shops in Kalighat area. Known to provide the best fish products like fish fry, fish diamond fry, fish roll, fish chop and much more. They definitely have one of the best fish fries in the city. Their fish rolls are also a must try. Prices are reasonable for the quality they provide.

Always had a great experience visiting apanjan. Take anything you like, it will taste good. It's like a small roadside joint where even sitting is not available. Like parar chop-er dokan. But don't get disappointed because the food tastes better than 5-star. They are famous mainly for fish like kabiraji, fish fry and others. The cost to quantity ratio is quite affordable. There is absolutely no compromise with quality so you can eat safely. Beware they only sell fried items and the food is no where healthy, NOT FOR THR FAINT HEARTED

A small shop in the wall, it can be easily missed if there wasn't a crowd standing outside but it seems like there almost always is! The fish fry is great here, they add something else to it, looks like rice noodles I'm not sure, but it's great.

Apanjan is a famous name for all kind of fried items in south kolkata! They are mainly known for fish fry, and fish pasinda with mutton, and chicken fries. Needless to say, all the fried items are very much authentic in taste and with super quality material used. It's located on Sadananda Road, near Tapan Theatres. If you are driving by car here, please note the road is one way, so please be cautious about the timing of the day you are visiting the place. They accept the online payment as well like UPI, but no credit card systems are allowed yet. If you are ordering through Swiggy or Zomato, the prices are bit higher (without delivery charges etc) than the actual cost as you can note from the picture. Do try at Apanjan, if you are near Rashbihari crossing!

Ordered fish fry and devil .. it’s a massive devil..fish quality and taste of their items is fabulous..if you plan to visit this place, please take some time in ur hand..always crowded..

It is one of finest place in Kolkata-26 region if you re looking to grab a quick bite of any chicken/paneer items. They serve good quality items at affordable prices.

It is the best shop to get your fish fry/fish kabiraji or anything related to fish. Suprising they're also good at making Mughlai Paratha. The alur tarkari is actually sweet and feels homely for some reason. The few cons with this restuarant is price(but in my opinion, for the the brand, heritage and the quality of food they provide) And the other might be with the quantity of food, for my case, the chicken mughlai Paratha seems to be very small in size...but it was feeling and had big chunks of chicken in it.

It is considered a Paradise for south Calcutta living people...they have variety of fried food items like fish kabiraji, fish chop, fish fry, chicken kabiraji, cutlate, leg fry, drum stick, variety of mutton items. The special is the radhaballavi and fish kocuri...its yummm....people who visits kalighat Ma kali temple and other purpose of work...atleast once should try this...

One of the best counter of fast foods in South Kolkata. There are lots of mouth watering items. I have tasted 3-4 items there. The authentic item I tasted there, Fish Kachori with Alur dam. For this item, you must reach there within 12 to 1 p.m. Apanjan's Diamond fish fry is the best fish fry in Kolkata. Also, Fish Kabiraji, Fish Worli very tasty here.

Well known place as is it own by same person who owns "Apanjan" in kalighat and nataka, fast-food including momos and snacks available same ones as you can get at "Apanjan".

You can literally spot the place by looking at the crowd outside. It's a small eatery, where you can enjoy on spot or opt for take-away. Tried the small fish fry and mutton samosa and both are awesome. Fish fry is served with mustard sauce (kasundi) and salad. I must say it goes very well. Their service is super fast. Sharing some pics of the mutton samosa below as I couldn't wait to capture some fish fry pics, it's so tempting.

firstly i got disappointed as they don't sell the famous mutton singara on Thursday! after that the fish fry n fish orli tasted sweet which was not expected at all! The only satisfying thing was the quality n quantity of the fish. it was undoubtedly fresh n original vetki.
