By far the best buffet I have ever had. Had tried their buffet lunch for the second time. First time it was when ITC Royal Bengal opened this restaurant. They were serving buffet at an introductory price. At that time too, it was excellent. Now it is most highly priced buffet in Kolkata (as per my findings) In my recent visit in September 2023, I found this place even better nowadays. The spread was the most elaborate one and every dish they served was excellent. I tried a few of them(covering all was not possible): They had cold cut salads, veg and non veg sushi, asian counter serving chicken dimsums, water chestnut dimsums, noodles and love counter serving pan fried items and the likes of chilli fish, crispy chicken. Another counter serving continental cuisines had roasted duck with barbecue sauce glazing, baked fish and a few other dishes. A tray of fruit salads was also there. A live counter serving puchka, chat, dahi vada. Dahi Vada is a must try. Then there was a Arunachali cuisine counter serving some excellent pork dish and black rice. Another live counter was serving pizza and pasta. Margherita pizza was excellent. There was a Bengali cuisine station. It had a few Bengali dishes which are a must try for them who have never tried Bengali dishes. Finally the showstopper was Indian cuisine station. Best was Dal gosht, Mutton Biriyani and Haleem. Dessert platter was also very rich. It had Rasmalai, Mango shrikhand, baked rosogolla, lot of cakes and pastries of which date walnut was a must try. There was crepes on offer. Two types of mousse was there. Multiple flavours of icecream was on offer. Service was prompt and top notch. Overall an excellent culinary experience. Worth every penny spent.

Celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary and had a good evening here. It’s a good place to be at, maybe the food range would not be similar to your daily life but yes, there’s a section exclusively for Indian food. But a must mention, you have one of the widest range of deserts here and you wouldn’t expect anything more there. I loved that evening and finally they arrange a small cake cutting session for your special occasion. Nice place.

Sheer luxury of a place this is. Menu wise they have a very very broad range. Beautiful seating. Ambience goes hand in hand with other things.

Visited this place on 26/7/22 for dinner. Outside lobby was well maintained and nicely decorated. Inside , ambience was good but we were really disappointed by the service we got. Never expected such things from a 5 star facility . Number of service persons in the food counter was less , one person was managing 3/4 counters. There was no cutlery in our table. After collecting the food we had to ask and wait for it. Again for dessert there was no dessert spoon. Suppose to use the same spoon? I don't know. Food was okay , not exceptionally good. Over all experience - unsatisfactory. Needs supervision and improvement.

Well, I am truly disappointed while writing this review of this famous 5* hotel in the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. Grand Market pavilion is ITC Royal Bengal's buffet restaurant and they provide a large menu and a variety of cuisine spread. But I am sorry to say that they don't excel in any cuisine whatsoever. The food is so average, no food is worth taking seconds of. The sushi in the cold starter section is just abysmal. If there is no sushi chef, please don't keep it in the menu. The main course section is somewhat okay with different regional food of India. The Asian food section is also okayish. The dessert quality depends on the day. I visited twice, one time it was good, another time it was meh.

Great place to have meals. Well spread out buffet, variety of food options both vegitarian and non vegetarian, quality food, great decor & ambience, to top it staff is excellent, professional and ever smiling. Desert choices will leave you wondering from where to start !! The buffet is catering for all types of food choices, be it Indian, Chinese, continental, you name it, it is available. Parking and wheelchair accessibility are never a problem at such top class places. Considering the place, quality & variety of food, ambience & service, it is fairly priced. It's a place where you can go with your family, spend quality time while having a sumptuous meal.

Just wow...it was lovely Truly an amazing experience. The vast options of veg and non veg items. The food was so good. The service could be better. It took a lot of time after we ordered pizza from the live counter and they forgot to give us the momos. The service person was also not concentrating on our table. Anyway overall it was good.. would love to visit again.

Buffet spread is not that fine. Not much options are there. Taste of food was average. Other five star hotels provide much better buffet option. portion of food is not adequate. Very small pieces were served. At least a decent size should be given. I had made reservation for birthday lunch but Complementary cake was not provided which other fine dining restaurants provide. Ambience is good. Well decorated. But not happy with the service.

We visited the restaurant while they organised Delhnavi event. An event dedicated to North Indian food. Lot of options to try. Also keep some space empty in your stomach because you can’t afford to miss the deserts.

The buffet was excellent, grand arrangements, lots of food options from Local cuisine, north India, Japanese, Italian, seafood, breads, Panipuri, Dahivada, appetizers and a variety of pastries, icecream and all. And complimentary Cake for birthday πŸŽ‚, but at the time of seat reservation, you have to mention the birthday purpose. Booking can be done from Eazydiner or by direct calling them. We had a sumptuous and delicious meal to celebrate a family occasion. The choices are varied and some exotic dishes can be savoured here. The service is excellent and we had been pampered especially with a complimentary cake too. @ Rs 2500/- per person for unlimited buffet meal in a luxury hotel would be appropriate for special occasions!

The ITC Royal Bengal offers a truly luxurious dining experience, befitting its 5-star status. The opulent ambiance complements the exquisite cuisine, creating a perfect setting for a memorable meal. The diverse menu showcases a fusion of local and international flavors, expertly crafted by talented chefs. Impeccable service adds to the overall charm, making it a top choice for those seeking a culinary indulgence. While the prices reflect the premium quality, the gastronomic journey at ITC Royal Bengal is undoubtedly worth the investment for those who appreciate fine dining.

The lunch Buffett has a variety spread of delicious looking dishes both continental and Indian menu. I especially liked the sea food salads which ran out quickly. They also had north east Indian dishes which were authentic, spicy and the herbs and spices they used were at par to local taste. I enjoyed it so much. They had biryani, pucka, puris, chats, momos, chow mein, which we can easily find on the roadside so I didn't try however the other dishes I tried were all very delicious. They had varieties of deserts which were absolutely delicious πŸ‘Œ I even tried some different cheese and bread but it didn't suit my taste bud. Unlimited coffee and drinks as well πŸ’― I went for a relative wedding Buffett so I didn't pay even a penny but heard that the Buffett cost around 3000rs per person including taxes. I think this is quite okay for the variety of spread but how much can a person eat right? Anyways It's good for one time luxury experience.

One of Kolkata's greatest restaurants. It's well designed and well-kept. The food is of exceptional quality. You will find a variety of cuisines under one roof. The attitude of the employees is excellent. They feature a wide setting area, as well as a separate setting area (if you are planning to have a party).

Ambience of the dining place was very nice and sober with fancy decor. As with the taste of the food, to be honest I hardly liked 2-3 dishes out of all the different dishes served today in dinner. Even the very basic momos, fish fry, pizza, paanipuri taste better in any local shop. Overall service was satisfactory but had a much lot expectation with the food quality and taste.

Who doesn't know about this hotel and it's inexplicable variety of dishes they serve at their famous restaurant known as The Grand Market Pavillion!! There we tried more than 100+ items still we weren't able to try all of them! Oh God what a experience it was! Delicacies from all the different parts of India and abroad! I got flabbergasted by the range of delicacies they were serving! Anyways some things like the attendants were a little lousy at their work although this happens everywhere! Well we enjoyed our time and I guess you will too!!!

During my recent visit to Kolkata, I had the pleasure of dining at The Grand Market Pavilion, a renowned 5-star restaurant located in ITC Royal Bengal. Making a prior booking was a breeze, as I simply had to contact the restaurant's phone number listed on Google, and the process was seamless. The Grand Market Pavilion offers an extensive range of dishes, catering to various culinary preferences. From Asian to Continental cuisine, and even traditional Bengali delicacies, the menu is diverse and tantalizing. One aspect that particularly stood out to me was the dessert section, which offered a delectable array of sweet treats. Personally, I have a fondness for the Pork Momo from the Nagaland section, as its flavors were simply outstanding. However, it's worth noting that the restaurant tends to get quite crowded, especially on Sundays. While this showcases its popularity, it can lead to a bustling and lively atmosphere, which may not be ideal for those seeking a more serene dining experience. The overall quality of the dishes at The Grand Market Pavilion was impressive, with flavors that pleased my taste buds. However, I did have a few reservations about the sushi selection, as it fell short of my expectations. If you plan to visit, I highly recommend trying some of the standout dishes. The Pork Momo, Chicken Biriwani, Pizza, and the delightful pastries are definite must-tries. On the other hand, I found the options in the ice cream section to be somewhat limited. While the flavors were enjoyable, I was expecting a wider variety, such as the inclusion of unique flavors like tender coconut. The staff at The Grand Market Pavilion were friendly and attentive throughout my dining experience. Their helpfulness was evident, and to my surprise, one of the staff members even offered us a complimentary Fresh Lime Soda drink, which was a refreshing touch. In conclusion, The Grand Market Pavilion at ITC Royal Bengal is a remarkable restaurant with a vast array of culinary delights. While the sushi selection may not have met my expectations, the overall dining experience was memorable. The friendly staff, delectable dishes, and convenient booking process contributed to a satisfying visit. If you're in Kolkata and looking for a top-notch dining experience, The Grand Market Pavilion is certainly worth a visit.

Ambience is top class, Food is good but not better than Flame N Grill /Barbeque Nation as there were not so much varieties of Non Veg Starters, No prawns but the Dessert section is huge and finally the service is πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž, there is no bowl for the liquid items like Raita and others, got disappointed when we had to wait 1 hour for a 250 gm.(approx)anniversary cake. After asking 4 times to Mr. Sumeswar every time he said "Sir, give me just 5 minutes/ already served..." finally when Madam Sylvia came to know she somehow managed to serve the Cake with in a minute.

Food without a doubt was top notch. Everything tasted so good. And the variety was incredible. The only gripe I have with the buffet was that soft drinks were not included within. It's not something too big but that is the reason for not giving it all 5 stars.

Well, this 5 star hotel deserves a 5 star rating. Be it the food, the hospitality, the cleanliness, the royalty, etc, all were up to the mark and you won't be disappointed with anything. Speaking about the food, it was a huge collection of different cuisines and one would eventually get confused as what to eat and what not (like myself). I liked almost everything I tasted but my favourite will be the desserts, they are excellent. Keep up the good work team ITC Grand Market Pavilion πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

We have a details discussion with Chef . He admitted few loopholes in there dept . The foods are stereo type with no flavour. Most of the time the Buffet remains unserved . Most of the foods were frozen and not fresh . The north east corner will frustrate u as pork used in a plate is of inferior quality. Except the sweet n desert section. The Chinese section is less to offer. They r making mockery on the Bengali cuisine. The foods will not satisfy your taste buds . The salads are fresh but most of the time the same remains empty. I happened to visit Grand market for last 4 year's, but needless to say that they are encashing the brand ITC and RB but food quantities are deteriorated. People busy taking selfies and picture and have a feel good factor regarding the brand but the same will not satisfy your taste buds.

We went there to celebrate anniversary and we had an awesome experience. It's inside 5 star Hotel, the dining experience was also 5 star. We choose this because it's easy to have buffet - without worrying about what to order. To our surprise the buffet spread was more than we expected. We went for sunday brunch. Excellent appetizer section and starters selection. Dedicated oriantal/Asian section. Big Indian section and good enough continental. Not to forget huge dessert options. Special mention should go to salads in non-vegetarian appetizer stall, live noodles station, dahi vada, "alu potol chingri" and mutton biryani. In dessert liked malai chamcham. Apart from that we enjoyed our time there, service was up to the mark. To celebrate, they have given a choco-muosse type cake complementary. But that was not upto the standard of a restaurant of this stature. Expected a better one at least a half pound celebration cake. Even if it was charged, should have given as an option (they did not explain what they would provide, so could not arrange for a better one) . Overall bang for the buck. Recommended if you want to have a large spread of buffet in a comfortable friendly and fine atmosphere.

Celebrated my 30th Birthday at ITC in presence of restaurant managers Mr.Santanu Dey Roy & Mr.Neil, which will remain memorable to me always. I stay at ITC Royal Bengal atleast four times in a month, during every stay whenever I visit Grand Market Pavilion for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner; I feel more welcomed & more warm hospitality provided by the restaurant managers. Mr.Santanu & Mr.Neil always treated me like their family members & never felt like I am staying in a hotel. They always surprised me by offering new dishes, they fulfilled almost every needs without a single question asked. I would suggest everyone to stay with ITC Royal Bengal & must try Grand Market Pavilion.

One of the best place for a buffet. I went there for a dinner buffet with my office team, they gave us a really good seat kind of own space. The ambience here is always amazing the service is extremely courteous and the food is mind blowing. Though the mutton biryani could improve somewhat but rest of the items were amazing

I have visited the restaurant on 6th Nov for Dinner & and had my breakfast on 7th. Ambience : Just awesome. Probably most luxarious amidst Kolkata's hi end restaurants. 5 Star. Cusine: Almost 90% is Indian or Indian type chinese. From a 5 star restaurant, we expect more variations than repeatation of same cusine. 3 Star. Food Quality: Good, hygienic and fresh. I wont say excellent as number of live counter options are too limited. So maximum food was bit cold. They serve pizza, paratha, poori, crossaint and such items in buffet buckets. Which gets cold over the time. 4 Star. Food Taste: Below average. Compared to other hi end restaurants, food taste is nowhere nearby. Be it Bengali, North Indian, South Indian, Continental or Oriental. Food arrangement is also vert basic. Some items should be served from live counter, which was not available. Need ample improvement. 2 Star. Service: Extremely poor. Lack of coordination between attendants. Some cutlery set had only spoon and fork. Knife missing. Somewhere spoon missing. By 9 PM, many buckets from buffet were empty. Nobody was monitoring. Refilling of items were pretty slow & sometimes not at all happening. Attendants need to be more friendly towards diners. 1 Star. Price: Comapred to other 5 star restaurants in Kolkata, price is almost at par. But considering the poor service, you will not feel value for money. Overall: You can visit once, but you will not feel to comeback again, if you visit other 5 star restaurants nearby. Hope ITC will improve on its Food and Service part.

Extremely disappointed. Manpower shortage, very less in the variety of the the menu. Other than biriyani and mutton rogan josh, nothing was upto the mark. Starters were very few, quality was bad, cold, manier times out of service, fish items only one was there, that too very stiff. Crabs were the small ones without any flesh, same with prawns. Never tasted such bad fuchka and papad in my life

This is a restaurant located inside ITC Royal Bengal. We had breakfast here. The overall ambience and service was good. One thing they could improve is on the live counters management and hot beverages like coffee and tea. We asked for filter coffee and we got cappuccino mix from machine. Similarly for tea as well. It is better to go around 8-9:30AM to have a calm and peaceful breakfast. I loved their French toast.

It's my first buffet at ITC Royal Bengal Hotel's Grand Market Pavilion Restaurant and I wouldn't say that I was disappointed. The food choices are good.. especially the Indian cuisine mostly. The desserts were awesome. Other than that the food was quite ok. Having been to buffet to quite a few restaurants in India and abroad, and also belonging to a family of chefs, I would just like to point to the Manager some negatives that I noticed. 1. There was no dessert spoon for the customers to have desserts. One was expected to have Rasmalai and and Shrikhand on a plate with a normal table spoon rather than in a proper dessert crockery. 2. The coffer dispenser was out of milk, which is quite astonishing since no one cared to refill the same. 3. No cups to have coffee. 4. The waiters were a bit confused when asked to provide for something. I had requested for a desert spoon to have Rasmalai, was handed a table spoon first and then a tea spoon later. I was quite surprised to that. I hope that in future the restaurant doesn't repeat the same mistake, I would definitely love to come back again to enjoy the food.

The ambiance was good. There were a lot of options for the food menu. We went for our Anniversary celebration and loved the experience. Deducting one star because we were not completely happy with the service. They were changing our cutlery after a really long time. It would be nice if they keep more staff to manage the floor.

Undoubtedly they have a huge set of items. But I felt that they emphasize more on quantity than quality. Few items like the ones in the "North east" counter and the sweet dishes were exceptionally good. The ice creams were also very creamy. But rest of the items were not upto the mark as far as the day I had the buffet is concerned. Need to focus more on individual quality. One more con that I think should be highlighted is that in the buffet one drink should be included. The behaviour of the staff and ambience is unquestionably great.

The new building of ITC feels straight out of an emirati structure, very opulent and expansive but I find the original ITC sonar beautifully minimalistic. Also, what kind of business / luxury hotel caters to non-guests for coffee and food and drinks and yet has no wifi for its non resident customers?
