Simply the best Mexican food. This is my go to place to eat. Always ordered the same thing, horchata and ground beef chimichangas. Never needed to change my order cause it was always so good. Highly recommend the horchata.

This was a very good Mexican restaurant. I was seated immediately, the server brought my drink, salsas and chips before I even had a chance to open the menu, and the food came quickly and was good. They serve a sour cream salsa alongside the traditional red salsa, and it was a nice surprise. I had a tamale, burrito, and chicken taquito with rice and cheese dip. It was great to have such a variety for such a reasonable price. Papa Grande 54 is added to the list of good restaurants in Owensboro for me! 😀

Enchiladas Verde. Flavorless watery chicken wrapped in cold tortillas, served with plain lettuce and rice on a very hot plate. Verde sauce was very bland. Service was fair at best. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

This place was very good. Service was outstanding. The Charro beans are the best I've ever had. I live in Atlanta and have had alot of charro beans. The street tacos were outstanding as well. Had a Texas margaritas it too was outstanding. Great place

Really nice Mexican restaurant on the east side of Owensboro. The service was friendly and the food was very quick. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. I recommend the shrimp tacos. The “Mexican ranch” suace served with the basket of chips was a unique touch. Parking could us a little help. If you have someone in your party with mobility issues, you should plan to drop them off at the entrance.

Have liked everything i have tried there so far. I just wish they would season their chicken. If i order chicken chimichanga at most restaurants, they have some seasoning in it, but Papa Grande is very bland. Everything else besides that is very decent.

Very good Mexican restaurant. Easy, fast service. The menu had a lot of options. Service was good and the bathroom was very nice and clean. That is not always easy to find these days. The restaurant is very roomy so noise is not an issue. They also had an outside patio for seating.
