10/10!! This place has not only the most amazing food, but such a wonderful staff as well. When you walk in within the same second someone is asking how they can help you. The managers have even asked me how they can help me while I was waiting for my food and offered to get me a drink while I waited. That's what I call good customer service! The food is also, EXECEPTIONAL! If you are ever in the area, stop by, you'll be VERY happy you did!

This is it! I have found my Mexican nirvana wrapped in tasty quac. I had the chimichanga stuffed with well seasoned chicken and just the right amount of heat. Server staff are super friendly. I kicked the meal off with a fruit based drink but noted you can also order and alcoholic one. All good. This place does have the feel of something you might actually find in a Mexican Village. As many of the better authentic restaurants are in off beat locations, do not let deter you.

Welcoming restaurant with delicious food and fast service. Tried the pork pupusa and chile rellano, both were fresh and packed with flavor. The outdoor patio is adorable and there is some seating inside as well. Looking forward to trying more of their dishes (and drinks) in the future!

A buddy took me here right before new Year's Eve for the first time for both of us and already this year been there twice. The atmosphere is perfect when you walk in the aromas, let you know the food will be good. I had the steak fajitas and have to say the best steak fajitas I've ever had in Florida. You guys did not disappoint thank you and glad to find this place. I am sure me and friends going to have many memories here when we get together! Keep it up love it.

Amazing food, great service. My fiancé and I had a great time and their cinco de Mayo specials were fantastic. We also got free tequila shots! We will definitely be back.

4.4⭐️ The best pupusas I have had in South Florida so far! Charming little hole in the wall. I love the authentic dishes. The fresh juices are good, in a big glass and an excellent price for it. I ate a couple of times here already. The Queso Fundido con Chorizo is thick and has a nice flavor to it. The chips are homemade and fresh. The pupusas are everything they need to be — full of flavor, juiciness, and nice texturized griddle caked / corn tortilla. I tried all varieties, and I liked them all, but steak and chicken were a notch better. Authentic Mexican Quesadillas were the bomb! Highly recommend! I cannot wait to try more dishes here! The staff is friendly but could be a bit faster. All in all, fantastic stuff!!!

This place superceded my expectations. Pulling up and parking in the little plaza, we almost had second thoughts about going inside as the location doesn't look appealing. Once inside we were met with friendly, nice, attentative staff and the place was clean, busy and lively. We sat inside to eat, but noticed there's an outdoor area that we didn't see. I think the prices are a little too high, but the food was delicious. I had the Salvadoran combo #2, which I didn't realize was a appetizer when I initially ordered it. My only reason for 4 stars and not five is because of errors on my receipt. We were charged double for flan when we only had one and on the chalkboard it had drink specials for strawberry daqueri's and my receipt didn't reflect the special price. Thankfully I always review my receipt for errors, so I has them adjust my receipt. Another thing noted on my receipt was a charge for using a credit card to pay and not cash which I don't like restaurants that do that as I feel it takes away extra money that I would add to my tip.

I had the molé chicken enchiladas and they were amazing. I've been to so many places where the molé disappointed but this place delivered. The service was great. The drinks are generous. My only complaint is that this place is nearly an hour away from my home.

We had the taco Tuesday for $19.99 p/p. They have all u can eat tacos: chicken, chorizo, carnitas, pastor n beef. Our fav definitely were Pastor n Chorizo. They have special lunch for $10, every dish looked so yummy. Everything was good except for the music, laud n horrible. Definitely a place to go back.

Pupusas, tacos and other delicacies that'll leave you licking your fingers is what you'll find in el guanaco. Good portions, very well made food and a good atmosphere in the heart of Oakland Park. Both the restaurant and parking are small so take that into account when dining in as spaces for both you and your vehicle will be at a premium depending on the hour of day although they also an outdoor dining area. El Guanaco is a salvadorian/Mexican food place so I would recommend you try their pupusas which are superior in taste and quality of ingredients to any I've tried in Broward and also their tacos which are made with in-house-made tortillas. None of that store-bought shortcuts in their kitchen. Overall I enjoyed the items I ordered and the service, although a bit slow for my taste was very nice once it got going.

Great food. I had the Bistec Encebollado and it was great, my friend had the Caldo de Pollo and my wife had the Sopes and we were not disappointed at all. They serve Big portions. The wait for the serving of the food was anywhere from 30-45 min but that is because everything was made as you ordered it and that's why the food was great.

Authentic Mexican and Salvadoran Food!! Just delicious!! We had a great meal here yesterday and service was excellent, everyone is so friendly and attentive! Even the folks inside the kitchen! My chorizo egg burrito was so yummy, specially the green hot sauce!! And the Chilaquiles looks so amazing and tasty!! Just like what others say… small place but big flavors!!! I can’t wait to try other things in their menu!! 👍👍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was.our first time dining here, what a wonderful experience! I had the Bistec del Res, Chi had the Bistec Cebollado, and we shared the sweet plantain empanadas for dessert. Everything was fantastic! The steaks were both absolutely phenomenal! The meat was tender and very well prepared. Mine had the red sauce that was just a pleasure to eat! Chi's steak was covered in onions and was extremely tasty! We finished it off with Café Americano and the sweet plantains empanadas, which intrigued us on the menu, and were truly delicious. Our server Elza, was delightful and charming, explained to us about the food, and took excellent care of us throughout our time there. Overall, this place is a gem and we look forward to our next visit here to try some more of their delectable offerings!

We stopped by this place just to get something small as we had plans elsewhere. It's a small little place with authentic Mexican and Dominican food. You won't wait long for your food, and the price is pretty cheap for dining in. Not much parking but that's not really a concern.

Delicious food at a very reasonable price! We always get the Steak Crispy Tacos and they never disappoint. They’re fresh and never greasy and come with a side of delicious salsa verde. Highly recommend El Guanaco if you’re in the area!

Easy to find small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Chips and salsa were served before our food, it was addicting! Attentive service and our food came out quick! We ordered 1) horchata, which was in a huge glass mug that took me awhile to finish 2) Salvadoran Combo #2 app, with crispy chicken tacos, fried yuca, loroco and cheese pupusa 3) Mondongo (only Friday-Sunday available) 4) mole chicken enchiladas 5) Beef tongue tacos. I definitely ordered with my eyes but we enjoyed everything. No dishes had little or too much ingredients. Definitely recommend!

We had a soup, bistec encebollado and sopes. Decent Mexican dishes, the green salsa was flavorful and spicy. Chips were very good. I went for their caldo de res but they did have it.

OVERALL: Wonderful dining experience. The staff was nice and easy to get to without being over-bearing. The interior is clean and light and constantly has amazing aromas coming from the kitchen. I highly recommend this place and will be back. APPETIZERS: The boiled Yuka appetizer was the best Yuka I have ever had. The crab nachos were good but over shadowed by the Yuka. ENTRÉE: The Salvadoran Steak in red sauce is extremely tender and full of flavor. The rice works perfectly to get all the red sauce. The tongue taco I ordered a la cart wasn't chewy and paired with the green sauce works real well. The Shrimp in garlic sauce is nice the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The chicken enchilada she ordered on the side was hearty and delicious.
