Yesterday Ann-Marie and her fantastic team hosted our wedding. From the moment we met to the actual day, she could not do enough. From helping us with the menu to decorating the room. What can we say about the food, we'll it was not pub grub it was outstanding, and the presentation was faultless. I am so glad we were let down by our previous venue. We would highly recommend the Red Lion for any family event. Thank you, Ann-Marie, and your wonderful team once again. Mari and Andy

Such a gem. Decided to eat here as it looks so beautifully lit from the outside, it really caught our eye. The inside is so homely and cozy with a real fire, a very welcoming team with Anne-Marie and her husband Shaun. It was so lovely to have a chat with them. The food was just amazing! We both had fish and chips while our little one had nuggets and chips. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we are grateful that they made our dining out a good experience as our son has autism. Highly recommend!

Just had a lovely meal with my family here, after travelling all the way from Northumberland and finding the hotel we were staying at could not accommodate us to eat. The lovely Teagan sorted us a table for six at a moments notice even though they were very busy, they were all very welcoming to us all. The service was amazing throughout and the staff couldn’t do enough for us, nothing was a bother. The food was outstanding. Me and my daughter had the cream of tomato soup, and I have to say it was absolutely banging, my husband had the patè which was out of this world. My boys and youngest daughter all had different combinations of garlic bread, one was plain, one was cheesy garlic bread and one was cheesey bread, all which came out well presented and was soon turned in to empty plates. For mains my youngest had the kids fish and chips, which was very plentiful, my husband and eldest son both had lasagne, which they thoroughly enjoyed but could not finish as it was quite large, my youngest son and eldest daughter had the Sunday lunch which was huge, even the children’s size was huge and delicious and I had the scampi - oh my lord the home made chips were absolutely lush. I cannot recommend this place enough it’s an absolute diamond, I’m just gutted we live so far away otherwise we would visit all the time. Thank you so much to Teagan and the team for making our visit so fantastic. Five stars from us.

Just had an amazing carvery! Hot, tasty and plenty of it! I’m quite fussy when it comes to a meal and loved this! Can highly recommend. Not overly seasoned and catered for even the fussiest of eaters. Lovely setting, lovely company and the pub was warm and cosy. Will definitely be back! Pity the carvery is only served on a Sunday as could eat this everyday 🤣.

Awesome food. Stumbled across this place and was certainly NOT disappointed! The food here is absolutely amazing! Traditional pub grub done well, no! Done exceptionally well. Simple, fresh food that's filling and delicious. Staff are all very friendly, polite and welcoming. Despite the fact I live 2 hours away, I'd definitely come here again. You must try this place and you too will be as impressed as I am! Well done to all the staff!

Truly excellent Sunday carvery today, including providing gluten free Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and gravy boat. Good service all round.

A huge thankyou to the lovely owners. We pre booked to have Christmas lunch here with the family. My partner has quite complicated dietary needs and as such she can't eat a lot of foods. However, nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to accommodate her. This made me feel relaxed and at home. I, myself is a vegetarian and my starter of parsnip soup , my beetroot Wellington roast dinner and my cheese board was lovely and flavoursome. Can I just say the cheeseboard is the best cheeseboard I've had for a long time and i eat a lot of cheese lol!!- a beautiful array of cheese and accompaniments. It was bloody gorgeous and I love mexicana cheese.

Sunday carvery, enjoyed our lunch, wide choice of meats and veg .The beef looked a bit too pink for my taste, and the chef offered to slice a portion and give a few more minutes, cooking time the result was perfectly to my tastes waitress staff polite helpfull and friendly We were impressed by the chef who came to each of the tables for the customers views on the food served . Would certainly return fir another visit .Good luck Red lion in the future

First time eating here. The staff were amazing and the food was so delicious. Me and my wife had the battered halloumi and it was well worth the money. Big portions, well cooked and presented. Overall, a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

Second week in a row stopped for a bite & pint . Sat outside due to having a dog. Maybe visits here will lessen as the weather gets cold & wet because we don't want to sit outside with Billie

We decided to try The Red Lion, after a family recommendation. The pub has recently changed hands and it seems that the new team are really doing a great job. We shared the garlic mushrooms to start, which was very well presented and very tasty - maybe could have done with a bit more garlic for me, but overall a lovely starter. For the main course, I opted for the steak pie whilst my wife had the rump steak. Both dishes were presented well, and were piping hot. The steak was cooked to my wife’s liking and was well worth the money. As for the pie…. It was jam packed with steak in a delicious gravy, encased within a beautiful pastry parcel. The steak pie was one of the best that I’ve had in a long time. All in all, we had a lovely relaxing dinner. Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Went for a meal with 4 colleagues during a recent visit to Deeside. Lovely bunch that work here and the food was really nice at a reasonable price. We went for the hunters chicken and weren’t disappointed!

Food was delicious however despite the pub being fairly empty, we waited nearly 50 minutes for our food.

This pub is now under new management. The atmosphere is friendly, and the staff are as well whilst also being attentive. I went there to try the carvery on a Sunday and I wasn't disappointed. The portion sizes are generous. The food was hot and very tasty and, overall, excellent value for money.

Went for the Tuesday burger night. Great choice of burgers and amazing value for £12.95 including a beer or soft drink. Food was delicious and service was excellent. I had the hallolumi burger and my husband had the beef and we were very impressed. There were 6 different types of burgers, so plenty of choice, the chicken burger looked great so we will be back to try this too. Thanks for a great meal.

Disappointing sadly ,we have been here before and really enjoyed the carvery ,went Sunday for hubby's birthday ,warmth was sadly lacking really cold no fire on not sure about the heating .,the two lovely ladys were as usual welcoming and helpful other waiting staff didn't seem to know what was happening ,I feel it was in the kitchen that lacked,we waited 30 min for pudding was told the microwave wasn't working when pudding arrived was still cold , waited another 15 min and decided to call it a day .having said this we will give it one more chance as this is not the norm for the red lion .

We called in at the Red Lion in Northop with couple of friends and there burger was ok and my daughter in law had mushroom tagliatelle and it was edible , I had fish and chips the batter was way over cooked i left most of it as enough said about that, I know there new owners but you have to do much better than this and some advice as I been in Food Catering myself make sure you have everything your offering on the menu and make sure if it say Chicken burger with chips and coleslaw make sure you have chicken and coleslaw available :)

Firstly, I would like to thank the owners. They went over & above for me personally. Let's be honest as a pescatarian, gluten free pain in the a@#... I really appreciated the effort that went into my meal. Having visited the pub previously they made me feel incredibly welcome & spent time discussing my needs. Their thoughtfulness and effort meant I could happily spend Christmas day, eating with my family. The atmosphere was brilliant... we had 2 children in our party. They enjoyed themselves & it was relaxed and welcoming... We enjoyed a game of Christmas pool, not something we'd done before. A genuine thank you from us & I hope you had a very happy Christmas 🎄 See you in the new year 👍
