I’ve been there several times bcz I love the cruffins, but today when I ordered a cup of coffee, it was like a nightmare. I ordered ice vanilla latte and I got that cup with the lids which never fit. (I am also wondering if that is really ice latte. Its smaller than I saw on this review) She failed to close the lid but just passed it to me and said “keep it closed with your finger” because there are many people behind me. I understood and came out but While walking back to my room, the cup made all my hands and clothes messy. Service was not good today. I expected too much from the google reviews.

The pastries are so good I’m willing to take an hour and a half long bus ride to Chester for them. However if you visit after 12, there will be not much left. Haven’t had luck to try some of the pastries I really wanted to because of that :(

The duo behind Bean & Cole have opened up this place, and it’s just as great! The goods baked up by Jess are 👌👌 as usual, and was my first experience eating a cruffin - deffo more being bought in the future. Ian seems a lovely bloke, and it’s just great to have another high-quality independent making Chester an even better place to be. Go and hunt it down!

We popped into Chester for lunch last month, and I wanted to buy some nice bread. We managed to find Kookaburra on a little alley just of Watergate Street, and I’m so glad we did! We bought a seedy 100% rye loaf and a sourdough loaf. Both were really nice – but the sourdough was my favourite – my perfect kind of bread, simple ingredients but lovely texture and superb taste. Bravo!

It should be in tripadvisor as MUST do in UK. It´s worth to come even from Czech. Amazing coffee and perfect pastry. Highly recommended!!

These pastries are to die for! Had a lovely Rolo Cruffins and it was so delicious. The sausage roll was very decadent with the addition of black pudding, a nice and filling start to the day. Also treated myself to an Iced Milo, the perfect thing for a homesick Aussie!

📍 @kookaburra_bakehouse Chester 🇬🇧 Rating: Nutella cruffin - 9/10 ⭐️ Thoughts 💭 Usually the first to criticise pastries in the UK but what a stunning cruffin. Filled to the brim with Nutella, delicious crisp and the flavours throughout were impeccable. The first stop on our dessert tour in Chester and by far the best. Reviews by @thefoodiestraveldiary

Amazing as always. I chose the new Anzac Kouign amann and it was INCRDIBLE! Teamed it with a nice cup of hot milo (malty Aussie hot chocolate). What a great weekend treat. Thanks Jess and the team.

We stumbled across this place a week ago and absolutely loved the food and delicious coffee… so much so we came back again today and had a load more treats and coffee’s. Particularly loved the muffins on both visits… really special. Will be coming back again to see Jess and Jo who are so lovely and make you feel very welcome too. Sorry mo photos… ate them all too quickly!

Love this place and always make a point of calling in whenever in Chester. The pasties and cakes are always super fresh and taste amazing, and the coffee is lovely. All the staff are always super friendly and helpful too. Would definitely recommend this place

Found this place online this morning, minutes from my hotel. All I can say is that I'm pleased I'm not from the area, otherwise I'd be here every day. The pastries at breakfast are incredible, I've just scoffed one and am seriously considering going back again - and it's raining hard! A cool place with cool vibes. Highly recommended!

Best baked goods in Chester by a mile! The Anzac Swirl is delicious. I've never had anything from Kookaburra that hasn't been absolutely delicious, including the coffee! A must visit for anyone, but get there early!

As an Aussie living in Chester and having my brother visit from Australia, we visited the Kookaburra yesterday. Enjoyed the pulled pork and Asian slaw sourdough sandwich, and banoffee danish - both delicious. Great to meet Jess and have a chat and extra pleased to see Cherry Ripes, Violet Crumbles, Tim Tams, BBQ/Pizza Shapes and cans of Solo!! A little slice of home in Chester with delicious, tasty treats and friendly staff.
