A
disappointing
shop.
I
always
like
to
support
local
business
over
big
faceless
chain
stores,
and
since
yr
awyr
agored
gwych
is
my
passion
I
always
try
to
check
out
the
independent
places
like
this
when
I
get
close
enough
to
pop
in.
The
name
of
the
shop
was
very
enticing,
'Y
Gwyniad'-
it's
a
small
fish
unique
to
Llyn
Tegid
(aside
from
a
secondary
safety
net
colony)
so
I
had
high
hopes
here
particularity
for
the
fishing
tackle.
Walking
through
the
door
you're
greeted
by
generic
outdoorsy
gear.
It's
the
sort
of
stuff
you'd
buy
on
a
market
stall
or
campsite
shop.
You've
got
the
basics-
gas,
torches,
even
a
few
pocket
knives
(
Whitby
catalogue
stuff)
hand
warmers,
bootsocks,
pocket
ponchos
and
so
on.
It's
right
down
the
lower
end
of
the
scale
to
the
point
of
being
disposable.
This
isn't
gear
you're
investing
in
or
expecting
to
last
much
longer
than
whatever
caravan
holiday
you're
on
but
will
get
you
by.
I
was
shocked
to
see
reasonably
comprehensive
range
of
fly
tying
gear,
one
of
the
best
I've
found
and
it's
reasonably
priced
for
what
it
is.
They've
easily
got
40
different
types
of
dubbin
alone
on
the
wall
along
with
hare
masks,
feathers,
tinsel,
and
even
a
good
few
hook
types
along
with
plenty
of
pre
tied
local
patterns.
The
funny
thing
though
is
all
of
the
spoons,
lures,
bubble
floats,
weights
and
ready
to
fish
gear
for
the
casuals
(all
Rovex
type
stuff
so
straight
out
of
the
ML
catalogue)
are
madly
over
priced,
I
know
this
is
a
touristy
type
shop
but
sioe
wael
bois.
The
lass
behind
the
counter
seemed
thoughtfully
disinterested
too,
I
initially
thought
this
might
be
a
bit
of
saes
prejudice
as
my
wife
is
from
Derbyshire
(and
has
the
accent)
but
even
when
I
turned
on
the
Cymraeg
(
un
o'r
hogia
Fôn
dwi)
it
failed
to
gain
any
kind
of
acknowledgement
let
alone
engagement.
After
the
frosty
reception
we
left
without
making
a
purchase.
tl:dr
if
you're
after
camping
gear
or
fishing
tackle
head
up
to
Corwen.
Soldier
of
Fortune
on
the
industrial
estate
will
do
you
for
any
camping
situation
you'll
encounter
anywhere
in
the
world,
and
the
tackle
shop
in
Corwen
Manor
on
the
highstreet
is
a
legit
Diawa
stockist
and
very
competitively
priced.
