One of my favorite restaurants in Chester. Lovely views of the canal, amazing and cozy place and yummy food! Shame they stopped serving pies as they were delicious! I want them back! 🥰

Interesting building on the old canal basin. Converted into a great pub. Staff are great, friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't know they find out. Food is good and not outrageously priced. Pastas come in two sizes, if you're having a starter might be better with the small. (Which is like a normal plate in some other places). Selection of beers is good too. Huge range of spirits on the bar back. All are reasonably priced.

What a fantastic place! Visiting it feels like a travel back in time 🤩😍 🍟The food is delicious, portions are big and not pricey at all. 🍻 I'm still yet to find my favourite taste of craft beer as there are soo many different ones in the offer...! 🌊The location is pretty unique, and really adds up to the atmosphere of the place. You can really relax here after a walk along the canals, even though the place is usually very busy. 👱I guess people who work here know how to make their clients smile 😁 Loved the joke, and felt pleasantly surprised when the food was delivered to the table outside. Didn't expect that tbh so thanks guys, you are great! 🤗

Very nice food and a great atmosphere but unfortunately a little slow service wise, there only seemed to be one server for all the upstairs tables and as such it took a while for everything to get to us. We were also told contradictory information about food service times. Very good food however, everyone enjoyed their mains and starters, good value for money, I had the nachos and then the Caesar salad, both came in huge portions.

Excellent and friendly service. There's always a cool atmosphere here. We started off sitting outside by the canal, then moved in and settled ourselves before the band started. The barstaff remembered our drinks very quickly and our empties were collected promptly with a bit of friendly banter. I've always loved Telfords. Been coming here for years and with good reason. Faces change but the standards don't. Always high. Always friendly. Always a great atmosphere. They're always showcasing local and startup bands and I loved the band on tonight (A Band On Ship). I wish I could've stayed longer. Cracking drinks. Cracking food. Marvelous. Double thumbs up.

Came here for a meal with a friend who lives in the area. I didn't even know this place existed beforehand but I'm glad I do now. The food, service and atmosphere were all superb. Will definitely be coming again

We visited after a day at the races. Cracking place to drink & dine. Really is that good , indoor and outdoor seating with an upper level. Based on other reviews I ordered the salt & pepper ribs and I'm pleased that I did , generous portion , cooked to perfection & great taste ( i was in a group of 12 and 4 others had the same & loved it ) Full plates arrived, and empties went back, that tells you everything. All staff were nice , prices reasonable , super food. No hesitation in recommending

We were well looked after by friendly staff. They helped celebrate 3 birthdays by providing candles for our birthday cake. Great atmosphere will go again.

Good place for a midday meal and a beer. Good selection of both. Outside space alongside canal basin is gorgeous on a nice sunny day. Good atmosphere in an old warehouse tastefully decorated. day we went they where a bit short on staff and the place was busy.

What a find! Excellent location with beautiful views. Food orders opened at six, food was out very quickly and cooked to a high standard. Service was attentive but not in your face. Perfect and I will definitely be back very very soon. Keep up the great work.

I visited to see a band play, Nealy Young. The place seems really nice. The staff were good and seemed pretty happy (I see that as a good sign). As a music venue, it seems excellent. Someone has invested in an excellent PA system and an engineer to run it, and the sound was remarkable (as a musician this is a subject close to my heart).

Had the veg Sunday roast and it was very good. Very filling and full of flavour. Always good when one finds a place that can prepare vegetarian dishes properly. Would happily recommend to others and will definitely be going back.

Fantastic venue. Went to watch a live band Brass Monkees who were fab! Be patient at the bar as it gets very busy but the atmosphere is amazing. Hardly sat down all night as we were dancing so much. Will keep an eye out for more live music.

Booked a table for 7.30pm for food, drinks and quiz. The pub itself is nice, situated right next to the canal. Food was good, generous portions. We were served by a friendly and efficient waitress without too much of a wait between courses. Gluten free options are available. The quiz is obviously very popular as it got pretty busy but was good fun. Would recommend.

Excellent selection of bottled beers and a fair few on tap to satisfy your curiosity. Tables outside next to the canal compliment inside seating.

Incredible place to dine out or just simply to go for drinks, the staff are very nice and helpful, the atmosphere of the inside and outside by the canal make this place outstanding. The food is at a very high standard and the prices are not too expensive. Would highly recommend this place 👍🍻

Good selection of real ales. Dog friendly, provided a clean bowl and there was an outside tap. Seating area by the canal. Bar staff were lovely.

I would alter just a couple of small things, the lighting - it was a little dark, not mood lighting dark, just not well lit. Also, the top step of the two, on the left side of the bar going down to a seated section, needs hazard tape across like the second step has. The poor lighting and the step not clearly marked had me missing the step. Great place though, by the canal. I had pea and leak soup. Although I could only taste pea, it was still tasty.

Popped in for a drink on a Friday night. Bouncers on the door said we should really book when I asked them if they had any space indoors. They still let us in but I was a bit befuddled with their comment given all the empty tables available inside on a Friday night (10:30pm). Bar staff were friendly and attentive. Went for a pint of APA, which was very nice. Toilets were clean and the atmosphere in the pub was very laid back, surprisingly.

While the service here was friendly, good and welcoming I will not be returning with my family ever again. After waiting a very long time for our food it wasn't the best at all. To break it down simply, the steaks had been asked to be well done, yet were still pink in the middle. Chips clearly came frozen from a bag. The pasta was the only perfect dish. My salt and pepper ribs had been fried in oil that was clearly old and were so dry and overcooked I literally cut them to bits to try and find any edible bits. I ate the veg bits instead. My crispy Japanese chicken supposedly with terriyaki sauce was so hard it shot off my plate when I tried to stab it with my fork. I was so disappointed. After spending just under £200 in total I did mention my food and was compensated for the chicken. Although I was left feeling awkward and embarrassed while my server went to speak to a manager about it. I wasn't after any money refund I just wanted them to know for future reference. All in all an unpleasant experience for me.

Now they serve Guinness again instead of that other stuff I won't name.its much improved. Huge array of beers ales ciders and wine. Including my personal fave cider of Aspall's. Good place to see a small live group close up and personal. Don't drink too much and fall in the canal outside though🍺
