Wow!! Fantastic service Fantastic food. We went there on our last night not knowing about it until then our host David in stone villa booked it for us. Very attentive on the service couldn't do enough for us. When we arrived they took us upstairs for a cocktail the manager explained about the food & showing us different cuts of meats the wine every little detail. We would recommend this restaurant and when we are in Chester again we will go back for a meal there.

By far the best meal we have ever had. The staff were very attentive, my wife's allergy was looked after in every part of the meal, and the food was divine. Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding.

Went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary... staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Atmosphere was great, Chester race day, so very busy. We had a card from the Staff wishing us well, nice touch.... Food was incredible. The Delmonico Rib eye I had was stunning, ranked in top 2 steaks I've ever had. It was accompanied by a mushroom ketchup? Never experienced it before but delicious. Had Onion rings with a Chicken salt, these were without doubt the best rings ever.... Starter was Scallops done in a way I'd never thought about, on pulled pork with sweet corn sauce.... fantastic. Quality is everything. If you've not been, go.... if you're thinking about it.... dont miss out.....

Make sure to book as seating is limited but well worth it We had blue cheese soufflé (utterly divine) and French onion soup (rich and flavoursome) to start Fillet steak and chateaubriand for mains with garlic butter - good cuts although the chateau was not great rare as a little too fatty Staff were friendly and helpful, cocktails are amazing! Starters are around £7 and our steaks were £27 & £30

Without doubt the best quality steak ever. The waiting staff were amazing and knowledgable about the drinks and food they offer. Cannot fault the place. Far better quality and service than the nearest competitors. If you love steak then without doubt you need to visit come here. However i advise you book as its very busy.

From the moment that we walked in we were made to feel so welcome , all the staff were fantastic and so attentive. The Cocktails are to die for and the food was amazing. This was my first time visiting and I can see why so many people recommend it. I will definitely be back in the future. Thankyou for a lovely evening.

Spectacularly delicious memorable meal. I ordered from the set menu and thought every course was fantastic. The steak burger in particular was tremendous. They have a great drink menu with many being similarly terrific. Highly recommend this to anyone, order from the set menu for an excellent value.

I have worked in the restaurant industry for 8 years. This place is perfect. Genuinely can't fault it. Wine selection is brilliant. Food is sensational. Staff are what make a restaurant though and these guys know their stuff. Best place I have been to in a decade (and I have been to some places double the price!) 100% will be my top of list places to visit.

The whole experience was a pleasure from start to finish. Service was outstanding, and the food was perfect. A meal that we won't forget.

Had a great time on Saturday night with friends. We had a wine tasting followed by a meal. Would recommend the soufflé to start, not something I would normally order but it was amazing. Tomahawk steak for the main was also excellent. Big thank you to Milo for emparting his knowledge and enthusiasm with wine. Booked another meal while we were in the restaurant. Thank you.

We celebrated our anniversary here and Omg.... Our dining experience was amazing from start to finish. The staff and service 100% and the food/cocktails were fabulous, we will definitely be back. What a gorgeous place to spend an evening celebrating 🎉

Beautifully designed place for real! Too bad they are not making as good all of their dishes! For me, this restaurant was a bit overprice for what it offered. I ordered The fish of the day, and it was salmon. It was a small and not better than what I could make in the airfryer at home.. The Sunday Lunch looked good though, but all the rest looked a bit overrated.

Fantastic high end restaurant with great steaks: a true, beautiful, grill. The sort of place that elevates the whole town. The interior design is special, sumptuos and elegant. In the food dept, everything is delicious and I was positively surprised by the black forest gateaux, pictured. The service is excellent, from reception to waiting staff and make some time to visit the cocktail bar prior to your dinner! The drinks are very good and it has a great atmosphere. Tip: book in advance

This is possibly my new favorite restaurant. I posted about it on social so figured I should leave a review. The food, the atmosphere, and the service was amazing (our waiter was a guy named Will, super kind). We wished we had more time in Chester! This place is a must visit if you're in town. Make sure to make a reservation.

We attended Upstairs At The Grill for my husbands birthday. They made it so special and unforgettable. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent and there were so many special touches. Firstly the decor is beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. On top of that they also arranged a birthday card, a complementary cocktail and a complementary sweet for my husband to mark his special day. We would definitely recommend this venue again especially for a special occasion.

What a lovely place. Excellent food, lovely ambience and wonderful staff. We both opted for steaks, served with Peppercorn and Diane sauces, both very good. Desserts were lovely too. Nice to see the restaurant churns its own ice cream and experiments with flavours. My husband had a selection, that included cola cube flavour! We never felt rushed, despite knowing we had the table for a maximum of two hours, instead, we were discreetly led to the bar to finish our drinks . The bar, downstairs is grey and stylish and I finished off the meal with the most delicious orange cognac liqueur coffee. Chatted to lovely staff there too! I get the impression the staff are trained very well, their product knowledge impressive. Give it a try if you're in town, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent Meal, we had the Cheese Soufflé, Prawn Cocktail, and the Chateaubriand, with the Marmite Carrots, Creamed Spinach and the fries…the meal was exceptional as was the service.

Chose this place for a birthday celebration and it's definitely a very good choice! Food was superb, but it's the service we received that made our dining experience tonight impeccable. Will definitely be returning for the food and the dining experience again.

This restaurant is the one I like best. I visit plenty of restaurants but to this one I keep coming back again and again. The team is very professional and the cooking they serve is so appetizing. I never miss an opportunity to have a nice meal here. I highly recommend this place.

Totally wonderful experience. I had a voucher from Christmas 2019 which they honoured, the food and service were first rate, the staff attentive but not overbearing. A special mention to young Lilly, who was a real star, she interacted with us, two oldies in our 60s, made the experience even better.

Went to this place several times, great steaks and good selections of drinks, no draft beer which sucks but gin tonic or whiskey can fix the situation. Must have if you are in Chester. In order to make it "reasonable", need to put more words :) so here we go Staff can give you really good recommendation on steak and how it is cooked or should be cooked, what to have with it, etc.. also they explain really well what parts of animal make what steak and what is good about particular steak. Also they have great selection of liquors at the bar so you can enjoy it after or during your meal. Really really good place with unique atmosphere, especially if you sit at the bar on the sofa, brilliant!

This is the a fantastic eatery and bar the staff are very good. We went here 3 times during our 5 days in Chester and highly recommend it.

My first visit here and what a place!! Decor and ambience is spot on, the staff are superb (friendly and welcoming but not over the top). But the food........THE FOOD...incredible! Probably the best steak I have had in this country bar none. Tasty, succulent, cooked to perfection and fresh! If you are in Chester you must, must, must go to this place. I WILL be going back!

Came for the second time. Once again and can not fault this place. We enjoyed the lunch menu which the prices are almost too good to be true. Food was fantastic, staff friendly, attentive but in no way over bearing. It will now be our go to place for a meal out. Highly recommend

I returned to this restaurant after a 10 year hiatus after a previous bad experience in December 2009. This time however the staff were wonderful and very knowledgeable. The head mixeologist/ beverage manager knew his stuff.. was able to create a non alcoholic version of one of the special cocktails, explained the menu in detail answered all our questions ( we were a party of 5) wine recommendations also excellent for those that drank with their lunch. Food wise OMG devine, decadent, gorgeous overstuffed as we could not stop eating the absolute perfect steaks served. Myself and my husband shared a portion of prawns in garlic butter (,starter) with our main course a Welsh Black New York Strip.. yes we are beef lovers and enjoyed every morsel provided..
