This
was
my
first
visit
to
the
Chester
branch
of
Hickory's
and
I
can
say
I
was
genuinely
impressed.
On
arriving,
I
was
immediately
seated
in
a
window
seat
overlooking
the
outside
section
and
river,
which
was
lovely
and
thoughtful
being
a
lone
diner,
and
was
presented
with
a
bottle
of
chilled
water
and
a
little
appetiser
bag
of
popcorn.
I
ordered
the
Chicken
Fried
Waffle
with
a
side
of
magic
dusted
tater-tots,
a
black
coffee
and
a
blueberry
lemonade
to
get
my
day
going.
The
food
was
as
always,
delicious.
The
waffle
was
really
well
cooked,
fluffy,
light
and
crisp
outside.
The
chicken
and
bacon
were
juicy,
tender
and
very
tasty,
especially
when
drenched
in
the
accompanying
maple
syrup,
and
yes,
chicken,
bacon
and
maple
syrup
does
work,
and
works
well!
The
tater-tots
were
lovely
and
fluffy
inside
and
satisfyingly
crisp
outside
and
rather
addictive!
The
black
coffee
was
good,
genuinely
good,
which
came
as
a
pleasant
surprise
and
as
for
the
blueberry
lemonade,
well,
I
can
see
myself
ordering
that
again
in
the
future
as
it's
rather
delicious.
Portion
size
wise,
there's
definitely
enough
to
set
you
up
for
the
day
through
to
the
evening
and
for
just
over
£20,
was
very
good
value,
given
the
quality
of
the
food
too.
The
atmosphere
is
as
always
lovely
and
vibrant,
the
seating
area
was
comfortable
and
the
toilet
facilities
were
incredibly
clean
and
well
maintained.
Overall,
it
was
a
very
pleasing
experience,
especially
given
the
friendliness
of
the
staff,
of
which
special
mention
must
go
to
Stephen,
a
genuinely
affable
character
who
was
wonderfully
attentive
without
being
overly
so,
who
allowed
me
to
feel
very
relaxed
and
at
ease
during
my
time
there,
which
is
exactly
as
it
should
be.
I
shall
definitely
return
soon.
