Pretty location, picturesque building. We enjoyed the spa and afternoon tea. Small inside but just enough for a mini spa day. Has pool, sauna and steam room as well as a jacuzzi. Bring your own towels and bath robe (this is an extra charge). Don’t forget a plastic bag for your wet stuff in case the dryer is still broken. I wouldn’t recommend walking around in slippers as the floor was wet and very slippery in changing rooms and pool side. Staff did mop it regularly though. They serve tea/coffee at main reception as well as free water or the main bar (down the corridor) serves all drinks. Treatment was good and staff were friendly and professional. Afternoon tea was fresh and served quickly. Nice little spa day though nothing to ‘wow’ about. Worth it if you can get a deal before booking.

Stunning place! Stayed in room 53 which felt like I was sent into a maze to find but the receptionist was very helpful in explaining where it was with a map. There wasn't a lift so carrying the two suitcases up the stairs by myself was a challenge but they do have rooms on the ground floor as well. The room was well maintained and very clean and the cleaners were very friendly. Visited the pool twice and the staff there were helpful.

Fabulous stay. We were celebrating a special occasion and very kindly had a free upgrade to a suite. Lovely room very spacious. We visited the spa and had a treatment and dip in the pool and jacuzzi, the spa has everything you need for a relaxing time and a gym if you're that way inclined. We spent the evening in the bar where the very helpful barman Lewis was on hand for all of our needs, a definite credit to the company. Overall a lovely experience. Will definitely stay again.

Well, the exterior looks amazing. Its grand looking and the gardens are lovely, but unfortunately you can’t go in them since there’s always weddings. So guests are herded into a small stoned area where they still allow people to smoke which I personally think should not be allowed. But onto the rooms. The room we stayed had the following issues: - Bath didn’t work. - Loads of huge cobwebs in bathroom - Walls in bathroom look dirty and/or painted badly - Walls in main bedroom look dirty and/or painted badly - Only one window opened to allow air in and even that wasn’t enough, the other was screwed locked down - The skirting boards looked very gummy and covered in marks and stains - Mould around the shower area - No toilet brush in bathroom - Tape holding wallpaper in place We complained to the manager and luckily got moved into a larger room. Yet, it still has its issues. Water stains on the ceiling in the bathroom. Huge amounts of mould on the shower wall tiles. Large bed mattress was so old and/or overused, there were huge dips in the bed. Was very uncomfortable! I very much suspect that the entire establishment is of this calibre. It’s a real shame, because it really does prove that appearances can be deceiving. Don’t think I’d stay here again. The place is way too shoddy, and even though the management were accommodating to move us to another room, I believe the staff are too lax in their upkeep of this hotel. Opinions are obviously very subjective, but my stay here shown in my photos, go to prove this hotel is not what it seems. Update! They massively overcharged me on my room service. Charged me £17 for a glass of wine and £12 for a sweet, when they should have been £7 & £5. Had to hassle them to get some money back. They blamed it on being double tilled. This hotel is just the pits! Keep away!

The hotel is beautiful and quite, the room was bigger than expected and then bed very comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, I think it is too expensive for the type of stay and the claimed stars - you have to buy robes and slippers, for example, ask for a hairdryer (we didn't have it in the room). The spa is a nice addition, but it is quite small and can be very laud as it is open to the public and can get crowded over the weekend. The restaurant is a bit pricey for the quality of food they serve.

A mixed bag to be fair. The main hotel is nice and well located and we enjoyed the spa. Staff were lovely although housekeeping was non existent. On arriving in the room the tea/coffee facilities provided were dirty and had obviously not been replaced/cleaned after the last guest. There was sellotape on the ceiling, presumably from a previous guest putting up balloons or banners. There was what looked like paint splashed on the bathroom floor and the tiles/grout was dirty. We didn't receive any housekeeping during our stay meaning I had to ask reception for toilet roll and the bin to be emptied. It seems a nice hotel let down by very basic faults.

Had a lovely spa weekend with the girls. The gym and spa facilities are great. Some of our party arrived late for their spa appointment and Nicole and her team were able to accommodate us still and fit us for the next day despite it being a busy races weekend at Chester. The food in the restaurant was delish and the servers catered to all our needs. We absolutely loved it and enjoyed our stay there to the max!

We had our wedding at Crabwall Manor on 3rd June, it was our perfect day from start to finish! Every member of staff we had the pleasure of meeting was friendly, polite and happy to help. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, Andrew and Jacqui were especially fantastic and really looked after us. We stayed 2 nights, 3 days and the venue itself is perfect, the rooms are nice and clean, as is the spa facilities and the hotel grounds are well maintained..... perfect wedding venue!!

By far the best hotel I’ve been to in my life, facilities where more than outstanding, very very clean and staff more than helpful. The rooms where amazing which followed suit with the rest of the building and really did feel like a very high 5 star hotel. The pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna where incredibly clean and where really enjoyable. Perfect place to have anything from a work trip hotel to a romantic getaway to a wedding venue! Me and my girlfriend loved the food they served in the very peaceful dining room and it was a perfect end to a perfect day. The basic room (£96) was very spacious and comfortable with a really nice bathroom and a balcony with a really nice view of the sunset. I can’t stress enough that if you’re looking for a hotel in Chester, please choose Crabwall Manor.

Really enjoyed my stay! Rooms great size and very comfy bed. Buffet style breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and catered for gluten intolerance and vegetarians. Totally recommend.

Lovely place. Stunning building. Views were lovely. Our room was a good size only problem with that was that the shower drainage was blocked . So therefore water was overflowing the shower tray when taking a shower. Toilet flushed but took a few flushings to get rid of waste. Also I wasn’t very impressed with my evening meal. I had the turkey dinner which was £22 a plate and it tasted like microwave food very tasteless. Nothing on the plate was fresh either all frozen. Over priced for what you get.

Nice hotel, lovely pool, and spa a bit dated in areas, but let's be honest after covid and a recession, a costly makeover is not an easy choice to make. The bedroom was a bit disappointing. The flush on the toilet needed fixing but worked, and the grout was a little grubby. The bed was two pushed together, so it had an uncomfortable groove. It's not great if you're planning a romantic weekend. That said, the hotel overall was quite nice, and I can fully see the appeal of getting married there with your guests staying but i'd expect all the rooms to be top quality and immaculate if I was paying for a wedding there. No one wants their guests to have a bad experience when getting married. It's stressful enough. The evening meal was lovely. I didn't really enjoy the breakfast, but my fiance did. There is plenty to choose from, so I'd probably just get a continental one if I ever stayed again What really let the hotel down were some staff. For the most part, they were lovely, but as I was sitting in the spa waiting for a massage, a lady came from the pool and asked to have a word. The gentleman working at the counter seemed to take offence to this and made quite rude comments to his female colleague about the paying customer in front of other paying customers. The restaurant staff seemed a tad rude, but the bar staff and the maintenance guy were lovely, as was the lady who gave me a massage. I probably would stay here again because the pool was great, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

When first entering the room we noticed the chair in the corner was covered in white stains... We had a table booked at a restaurant in town so went downstairs and asked to book a taxi. We then started to get ready and the shower didn't get warm, then noticing a sign in the bathroom saying "water can take up to 15 minutes to get warm". After waiting 20 minutes and still no joy we braved 2 cold showers to make the reservation we had on time. £133 for a room of which you have to wait 20 minutes for your shower to still not even get warm is nowhere near good enough. We came back from our night out and pulled the sheets back to get into bed to find the mattress protector and top sheet were halfway down the bed, exposing the mattress; a bed not even made! The next morning we woke up and pulled the curtains back to find skittles and sweets all over the floor from the previous people in the room. After a not so pleasant stay I exclaimed at reception I would like a word about our stay after we had used the spa facilities. The man behind reception then says there will be swimming classes at 12am so you will need to be out before then, we checked out at 11am, giving us less than an hour in the spa. We go into the spa and find the jacuzzi is broken, understandably things break however it just felt like the icing on the cake. After our short time in the spa we went back to reception to ask if we could have a word and was told to wait in the lounge for someone to come In. I explained to the man everything about our stay and he said the best he could do was refund us 30%. More than £90 for a room with a cum stained chair and a list of other issues is mind boggling. I said I want a full refund after explaining we had traveled a long way to stay at the hotel and was for my girlfriends birthday, of which he replied "young man" in a belittling manner then claimed it was the best he could do. AVOID CRABWELL HALL HOTEL MANOR AND SPA LIKE THE PLAGUE!

The rooms were excellent. The overall service is what let this stay down. No where near enough staff to cater for the New year's eve customers, some very rude staff. No bar food at all, even crisps or nuts, Such a shame as it is a nice hotel in a nice location but not much use if you can't get anything to eat or get served at the bar

2nd June Natasha and Jamie's Wedding. Had an amazing day. Staff completely looked after every aspect of the day. Nothing was too much trouble. Jackie acted as the Wedding Coordinator and was there every step of the way but was also invisibe. Gardens are amazing and the castle appearance and accommodation in rooms was top notch. Food was exceptional and plenty of it. Good selection of drinks at the bar not just continental Lager. Never wanted to leave.

Nice hotel but showing signs of wear & tear in a lot of places. Shower in pool area is broken, some lockers in changing rooms had no keys/doors hanging off, carpets were marked/threadbare, all paintwork on doors in room and communal areas is marked, grubby & scuffed, external paintwork on hotel is peeling making hotel look a bit downtrodden on approach, light bulb didn’t work in lamp (mentioned at Revolution but not replaced), some sockets in room didn’t work and neither did USB charge point for, something had been stuck to wall over bed and sellotape was still stuck to the wall. Online pictures (even my own here) make this look hotel look more perfect than it is. These are all small things that could easily be fixed taking this hotel back up to 4 star which I’m afraid for me it isn’t in its current state. Probably the most disappointing thing was the breakfast. Cups weren’t available, bread ran out and wasn’t replaced despite being asked for. No vegetarian sausages available so only eggs, beans and tomatoes for vegetarians. Eggs ran out and we had to wait 15 minutes for more and when they did come out there were only two! It wasn’t a great breakfast so we chose to eat elsewhere for the remaining two days (despite having paid for it). And because of this we avoided the restaurant at night. One additional thing that we didn’t like was that we told reception that our room didn’t need servicing on the second day only to find someone had been in when we returned and on the third day we said we’d like it serviced and it wasn’t. However there were some good points. All staff were very polite and attentive and we couldn’t fault them. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 4:30 so we were given a complimentary drink each. The hotel was in a quiet location and convenient for Chester, Liverpool and North Wales. We did intend to tell the hotel all of this and not just leave a review but a family emergency arose as we were leaving and we had to hurry away.

Me and my mum have had a lovely couple of days here. So peaceful and quiet. The food is amazing and the staff are very helpful. We both had a facial at the Spa and it was so relaxing and therapeutic. Would highly recommend it. Thank you Crabwall Manor for a fantastic time.

Lovely family hotel. Staff are super friendly and room was spacious. Breakfast buffet was good. Swim facilities are great, pool is nice and warm. Was worried the room would be dated as it’s an old building but it was nice and modern with a big TV and coffee/tea tray. Excellent location too

We visited on Saturday for a spa day for a group of 4 friends. The treatments were absolutely amazing and we really enjoyed them, as was the afternoon tea, this was lovely too. The only negative I would say is that there is no relaxation room for spa guests which was super disappointing, and the pool area has around 6/7 loungers to sit on, in the pool area which was open to the public and children's swimming was crazy busy on Saturday so I would say, it wasn't relaxing at all and there was nowhere else to chill other than in the massage rooms, before/after the treatments wasn't great. I would advise to avoid weekends/school holidays for quieter times to enjoy a quiet, relaxing day.

We booked this hotel in covid times for a running a 5 day seminar. The staff on arrival of our attendees was really thoughtful and they were well looked after when arriving in from the USA and Australia until they were able to book into their rooms. We were all dealt with quickly and the staff were all very helpful throughout our stay, even though they were understaffed at times. The rooms were good for what we needed for the event and the attendees were happy that they also had use of the spa & gym when they had time to use it. We had set meals to choose from and a room where we could go as a group to eat which was nice. The food was lovely and the desserts were a winner everyday! We had one day with a little confusion but, it was swiftly dealt with and the staff apologised. We were even all treated to ice-cream once afternoon too! They catered for all the dietary requirements we had also between 31 people with no problems. The room we had to work in each was great and the gardens are a nice touch too. The bar staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, even the night porter went out of his way too when drinks were ordered after the bar had closed. Our attendees loved the building, hotel and all that went with it and it made our life very easy in running the seminar. I would definitely recommend it for running a function and would like to thank all the staff at Crabwall Manor for their hospitality

We had a lovely stay here for my daughter in laws hen . The rooms we was allocated were lovely . Close to the spa . I cannot thank Christine enough for going above and beyond to accommodate us 12 guest at breakfast time and for afternoon tea . There was a mix up with timings and she was a real star ⭐️. Our treatments and the ladies was absolutely amazing 5⭐️ for the attention & attentiveness . Hotel was quiet . We being a hen was quiet really as die to only a few younger ones . Thank you for making our weekend lovely especially during such a busy time (it was the races ) . I would recommend this hotel . The only thing I would say needs attention are the beds in the spa area they are very worn and need replacing.

We have just had a two night break at this hotel. On arrival the hotel looks lovely we booked a junior suite which was room 9.The room was dark and dingy ,it had one bedside light and one wall light the other wall light didn't work,we did report this but it wasn't fixed. There was curtains at the windows but a very broken blind on one which looked like it had been left a long time.We moved the settee out from the wall and the cobwebs were thick we also had a pair of dirty socks down the settee! The bathroom wasn't good grouting missing on the step up to the shower and down the back of the shower the grouting was black..the hot water took at least 20mins to get hot.Not a suite at all.We used the restaurant the food was nice but pricey.Next the pool on arrival we were told the steam room was broken and the jacuzzi wasn't working.. the floor of the changing rooms, well the only changing room actually, was soaking wet, an accident waiting to happen. We were disappointed and will be taking this up with management not fair on other people just to let this go.

We spent an afternoon trying the facilities to see if we wanted to join, wow, customer service is excellent and professional, spa is lovely and relaxing, gym is clean and well equipped. We had a bite to eat at the terrace bar after our relaxing afternoon and the food was amazing, great garden view and friendly service. There are small maintenance issues in the changing rooms, broken lockers etc, but other than that this spa is perfect for quiet workouts and relaxing spa afternoons.

Awful night in this hotel. Couple in the room next door were loudly fighting all night, throwing things around the room and sounding like it was getting physical. There were multiple complaints during the night, however the night porters seemed unable to do anything. It almost got to the point where both guests and staff had to call the police. Upon checkout, everyone was very apologetic and I was told that while a manager was not currently available, I'd head from one shortly about a refund. A week later and I still haven't heard anything. I call the hotel and repeatedly get either no response, or told that a manager isn't available and they would call be back. I'm yet to hear anything back from management. Would highly recommend avoiding this hotel. If anything goes wrong during your stay, you are left on your own with zero help from the staff.

Gorgeous place, our room was enourmous. Tea/Coffee facilities and jaffa cake cookies. Was very disappointed with the resteraunt though, it was cold and uninviting and paper napkins worse than McDonald's, had to order drinks twice. I must stress the food was of the highest quality and bloody delicious. We weren't asked if we wanted coffee or desert to finish, I cant get over the bit of paper as a napkin, it's petty and tedious but I was fuming about it. The place itself is bloody lovely, receptionist was really helpful and nice, the gardens are lovely and must be gorgeous in the summer months, if we have any that is! It is setup for high end weddings, that must be it's major attraction and function. The gym looks quality, I'm told the spa is beautiful and the pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room are cool. There are about 6 loungers which isn't enough, but you don't go to lay on a lounger do you? It's somewhere to dump your towel though, they also provide the towels for guests. It is a high quality place and I'm sure if you can afford to go regularly you'ld do so. Our kids got us the room as part of our 40th Wedding anniversary, which is a lovely thing to do. I should add breakfast was 1st class, so much choice all included in our package, the dining room was not as cold an atmosphere for breakfast. We had as much tea and coffee as we could handle. You have to checkout by 11am which is good, I'm not sure if they let you hang around after you checkout, we didn't but we weren't given an option to carry on using the spa/pool etc, we didn't feel cheeky enough to ask !

Beautiful hotel, and cannot fault our stay. The rooms are spacious, modern and well facilitated. The manor itself is absolutely beautiful, we were really impressed. The area is quiet and peaceful amongst the beautiful gardens. The spa is a good size, clean and spacious swimming pool at a nice temperature. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and can't wait to return.

We stayed at Crabwall Manor on the 2 night renew & refresh package. Our spa treatments (full body massage, body scrub and facial) were incredible and the only positive aspect of our whole stay. The rest of our experience was a bit mediocre. The hotel is quite tired looking and could do some renovations/improvements. Rooms were relatively clean but the bathroom had some black mould in the shower. The room we had was spacious but very warm (when 18 degrees outside). The room doors slam, so we were kept awake at night from other guests going into their rooms. Pool, sauna and steam room were good, standard quality. The restaurant (Jacobs Brasserie) was terrible. The evening menu had just 4 choices, we had steak and burger. Steak was £25 and really fatty, £18 burger was worse quality than one from McDonald's. I complained and the staff were great and dealt with everything accordingly. Can't fault the attitude and friendliness of staff, but decor and restaurant were not up to the quality you expect from a luxury spa hotel, quite disappointed.

Brilliant hotel - clean, good food, nice swimming pool, and friendly staff. Our stay included two treatments - I had two massages which were very good. The evening meal was very nice - I tried something a bit "different" and was very pleasantly surprised. The only criticism would be that there was a wedding which meant we couldn't access the main bar on the Saturday night, so we had to head into Chester itself. Would be good to have a proper second bar for hotel guests when there's a function.

Not clean. Restaurant is hit and miss. Room not cleaned daily. Had to ask for essentials like toilet paper. Cobwebs and spiders everywhere! In rooms, on light shades and round bins. Rooms are very spacious. Cobwebs and huge spiders in bar area. The only saving grace of this place is the spa!!

This hands down is the most well run establishment on regards to hotels and spas that me and my partner have ever been too. The man in charger there is doing a fantastic job and was very helpful with a situation that wasnt their fault directly and helped out a lot more than most other places would. The rooms are unreal and the staff and the team he has there are great. It's not only got beautiful views and surroundings it also has a great spa and gym all topped off with a fabulous restaurant. Please if your in the Chester direction and looking to stay somewhere then look no further stay here 👌🏼

It was a nice hotel with friendly staff. My only problems were first no air con, just a noisy desk fan in the room and it was a hot day/eve when I visited! Secondly a few dirty plates and glasses lined the corridor including outside my room and were still there 3 hrs later. Minor gripes but I'd expect more.

  • 2/5 louise w. 2 years ago on Google
The room was dirty and poorly presented. Windows rotten and moulding, bathroom, black mould around shower, wallpaper coming off, food and drink debris still smeared on walls and pillowcase covered in red lipstick. Breakfast quality poor, and the most concerning aspect, the fire doors on the first floor all propped open with the fire extinguishers, pretty sure that's a hefty health and safety breech and fine. CCConsi

Clean and tidy hotel. Decor could do with being updated as the brown walls lights and furniture in the restaurant really don’t do it any favours. Good gym that is reasonably well equipped, with a pool. The sauna and steam room were closed due to Covid at the time of my visit. Situated within close proximity to Chester Good on-site parking

We booked a spa break as a treat for ourselves, and what a treat it was. We received a warm and welcome greeting at reception and were given details of where to go for meals and given directions to our room and the spa. The spa has great facilities and the treatments were so relaxing (thanks Hayley). The rooms are light and spacious with tea and coffee making facilities and a biscuit ir two. There's an iron and ironing board, bathroom toiletries and hairdryer so no need to pack any extras. It was hot during our stay and although rooms do not have air conditioning a fan was provided and a cool breeze from the open windows kept us cool and comfortable. The bar opens out onto a terrace overlooking the enclosed private gardens and is an idyllic sun trap to enjoy a tasty alfresco lunch as we did. Dinner had limited choice but what we had was delicious, equally was the breakfast with all the usual choices. The staff were friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble (thank you David and Christine) I would definitely recommend the hotel and spa, reasonable prices and in a great location. Thank you for a lovely stay Crabwall Manor, I'm sure we'll be back! I would definitely recommend the hotel and spa, reasonable prices and in a great location. I'm sure we'll be back.

Well attended a wedding on Saturday. To be fair cant say anything bad about the hotel and setting realy good. Now for the bad, considering this hotel is well used to staging wedding s, I have to say the bar was shocking. They only had one bar person on all day the poor lad did well over a 12 hour shift. With his manager on his back. They ran out of that many drinks behind the bar it was almost laughable, they were running to the local shop to buy drinks, many times during the day and night. Considering the prices they were charging you would think the size of the establishment they would have a fully stocked stores. Sadly not. very poor show

Our two nights was the highlight of our holiday. The room was huge and amazingly comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, a perfect place for photos. All in all it was a wonderful break.

Beautiful hotel and lovely relaxing gardens. Our room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. Lovely bathroom with double shower and bath. The only negative was the very disappointing service at breakfast. Self service hot food was lovely when it eventually arrived. Very disorganised and bizarre way of cooking items individually and bringing them out a few at a time. Staff seemed uninterested and not very efficient or helpful. Other than the issues at breakfast we had an amazing stay and would definitely visit again

We booked the Spa and afternoon tea. Staff were great, treated us like valued guests and provided good information. Emma - massage was excellent, talked about the treatment and provided a great sense of calm in the room, she even got out the knot in my shoulders! The jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were great. The pool was good size and it gave a total relaxing feel to the day. Walked through the hotel to the restaurant (nicely decorated) and quick service for the afternoon tea and attentive to us. Just added the beauty to the day.

I booked the hotel as a nice little overnight spa break for myself and my partner. We both agreed we would be booking to come back again. Hotel building is immaculate, well done out and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous, fresh, plenty of choice. Spa/pool area again. Spotlessly clean and towels available for hotel guests to use at no extra cost. But most importantly i feel the staff deserve all the credit. They where so lovely and couldn't do enough for us. And must also give a mention to the young man behind the bar who was most polite, helpful and a credit to the place. His name was Leon i think, just really chatty and friendly lad.

I decided to treat my wife to birthday treat, from the minute we first arrived the staff where warm and friendly, the room was clean and had everything you need. The spa unfortunately the swimming pool was having lost of issues and wasn't working during our stay but the sauna gym and massage was amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone. The only problem I found was the breakfast, the continental was great but the hot breakfast found bit over done on the eggs beans and hash browns. Would suggest more veggie option on the hot. But will be coming back.

After a busy 2022 and the beginning of January with our workload, a spa break was needed. Which led us in booking Crabwell Spa Manor. What a magnificent experience. The staff was very friendly, and greeted always with a smile. The food was delicious and was to our surprise very well-proportioned. We was stuffed by the end of the night. The gym had a lot of equipment and the pool was of a good size to get the laps in. The sauna and steam room was good. Our massage was amazing and they were polite and handled our request in a professional manner. I'd highly recommend this place, we went on a Tuesday and there wasn't a crowed, it was quiet and calm. Great work and we will be back soon 🍾

We stayed here for one night and we were amazed at how actually beautiful it was. We had a superior room which was amazing and very spacious. It was very clean and staff were very nice. Even came to our room with greeting drinks as it was my partners birthday. Lovely touch. The restaurant was fully booked but we had food in the bar which was very nice. Breakfast is an optional extra and was very much worth the money. The spa was just the icing on the cake for us and we will definitely would recommend to anyone. Thank you for a lovely stay

I got married at Crabwall Manor and couldn’t fault it! Every member of staff went out of their way to make sure we felt special and enjoyed our big day! We felt completely relaxed which made everything so much more enjoyable. The rooms were lovely, the food was great and the grounds were absolutely beautiful! Thank you all, from the newlyweds!

Fantastic place. We had room one- a master suite and it was gorgeous. Great sitting area, huge bathroom and bedroom. We had a meal in the terrace bar which was nice- but really cold so that would be one minor complaint. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. I would higher recommend this place and go on treat yourself to the suite!
