Small homely hostel, made to feel very welcome. You can sit outside in garden in nice weather and even in rain (covered sitting space). Kitchen good to cook in, with nice oven. Tea, coffee supplied. Only £2.50 to wash clothes, i used the outside line to dry but there is a dryer also. Bed was comfortable. Ensuite for our room with good shower. Would go back again.

(Translated by Google) A great hotel! ! ■ The staff (owner) is kind. ・ When I was notified by mail that the check-in time was delayed when the train was delayed, I was immediately relieved that the reply came. ・ I was planning to leave the city by the late-night bus on the day I checked out, so I lent you shared space until then. I can only thank you. ・ We had you consider room considerably. Wifi, kitchen, bathroom, all comfortable and no complaints! When you come to Chester, you'll want to stay.

After booking a trip to the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience nearby for my partner's birthday, we realised late on that we would need a hotel as the drive would be a long one. After looking online, we booked for one night at the Bunkroom purely because of the great ratings and reviews, and after spending the night there, I can see why it was so highly rated. From the outside, it may look like nothing special, but the room was everything it needed to be, the beds were very comfortable and the member of staff who I liased with, Graham, was wonderful and easy to talk to, always happy to answer any questions we had. If we're ever in need of a room in Cheshire, you bet we'll be back.

Can't really fault this place, it was really homely and cosy, considering some of the places I have stayed for a similar cost this was really lovely. Warm and clean and very welcoming.

Graham is always very helpful. Constantly going above and beyond for his guest. The rooms are very good value for money. Great he has laundry facilities on site too for our staff. He is now our go to place in Chester for our business.

(Translated by Google) Very good location, 5 minutes walk from the train and bus station. Pleasant staff, safe, complete trust of the guests. Cozy, spacious rooms with all amenities, comfortable beds, clean linen. Hortsho equipped kitchen, lounge and gazebo under the open sky. It is a good price.

Quiet, clean, comfortable & functionable little stop & a great way to meet fellow travellers. Ensuite family room available. Kids loved the triple bunks! Very clean, modern bed linen & curtains tho not fully coordinated furnishings. Kitchen well stocked with utensils, crockery, glassware & cookware. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar & milk provided on arrival. Outdoor dining & living area 👍👍 Common room/ dining room cosy with plenty of reading material, TV, games console. Loved the curtains, clocks & light! Graeme very friendly & operates an easy booking system. Late opening shop across road to buy basic foodstuffs if needed. Lots to do & see in Chester.

The staffs in this hostel are very rude. I paid for 5 nights and on my last night I was informed that a group of 5 people had booked and I had to be moved to another place because the room that I was had 5 beds. It was not asked politely, I mean, I was informed to be moved. I was not happy with the situation, once that it was not asked politely but I was told to be moved , and plus, I already had paid for the stay. Then , a gentleman very "polite ", who I believe to be the owners' son, shouted with me to get out immediately , once that I was not happy with the situation that he put me in, to use the room that I already was , to acomodate 5 people. Plus, people talk to loud in this place . The noise that comes from the main road is too loud, we can hear it faraway ...cars bipping all the time. the room has old carpet, it stinks. We need to sleep with the window open to get ventilation and improve the "horrible " smell. It won't works in the winter. This is a place that I never will recommend...pay a little bit more and stay in a place that you will treated with respect, but not like rubbish because a group of 5 people was coming and it would give for the owners more money than 1 person already there with the last night already paid.

Oh, I wish I'd found this place earlier! It is just a brilliant find. It's location is perfect, whether travelling by train or bus. It's quiet, and has such a wonderful laid back vibe. Graham is such a good host, he's friendly and helpful, and makes everything so relaxed and welcoming. I met some nice people in the huge kitchen, and lounge area, too. I can't recommend this place highly enough. 5* Absolutely LOVED it!

The rooms are small, basic and with shared facilities like toilet and shower. Don't let this put you off though if basic is what you need, as the price is stunning for chester, especially if you max out the occupancy on a double bunk bed room. It worked out cheaper for me and a mate to have a double room and drive home rather than get a taxi back after a drinking night out. Bumped into graham on the way out (sorted check in via messages), from that short chat he's a friendly guy will get you sorted Location wise, brook street car park is cheap (cost me 5.50 parking overnight after 6pm into check out 11am). The rooms are 5-10 mins walk from parts of the main shopping street and bars, and the street the rooms are actually on do have a number of eateries and at least one convenience store

My brother booked the Bunk Room for the weekend, it was exactly what we were looking for and didn't disappoint. We were a fairly large party and it was a race weekend, so we felt incredibly lucky that Graham was able to accommodate us. The accommodation itself is clean and well kept. There were a variety of rooms and the location was perfect for exploring the city centre. The kitchen was good, and a nice outdoor area too. Exactly what we needed. All in all a great place to stay and use as a base (the micropub across the road is well worth a visit too) I'd definitely stay there again, next time I'm visiting Chester. If you're looking for basic accommodation without all the whistles and bells then you'll be hard pushed to find better.

I've give 5 stars because for what we paid for a Friday night in the location it's in you can't go wrong. Clean bed and little shower room that's all you need especially if you have been chester live room for a night out. No problems here oh apart from the strange variant of music comming from the top floor room in the building next door, nowt to do with the bunkhouse doh 😀

I didn't actually stay here, but we were looking for a place to store our luggage for a few hours while we were waiting for our train and wanted to have a look around this beautiful! city. The guy running this place was really friendly and kept our bags for a very reasonable fee, so at least service is perfect.

Stayed here cycling lands end to John o groats. Graham was very helpful and gave me a room to myself and let me put the bike in the room, fantastic. It's also en suite with a decent shower, plus shared kitchen and TV lounge.

Staying just over a week here and I can honestly say I'll miss it. The garden feels like a little slice of a holiday abroad and the beds are incredibly comfy with a communal kitchen (fridge and freezer space and cooking utensils, microwave, toaster ect) and dining/lounge room with TV. All the rooms are kept incredibly clean by the owner, and whilst they are currently very attractive anyway there is allot of redecoration going on to keep it fresh. Free tea and coffee (milk and sugar) is always a bonus plus a newly added ice machine and dedicated drinks fridge, amazing hospitality and you get the distinct impression the owner (and his lovely family) are very genuinely happy to help. Thanks for wonderful stay!
