Awful rude reception staff with no compassion whatsoever. Attitude stinks. Do not want to help and over talk. Put the phone down when I asked to speak to somebody else. (Karen) Shocking they are working in the trust. When I went in for the appointment the same receptionist was on the phone with another patient and She was treating them in the same manner. However, I will say any Nurse or Doctor I have ever seen have been great, understanding and compassionate. .

Absolutely Disgusting the way KAREN on reception speaks to patients no compassion what so ever. If she was a member of my staff she would of had the sack by now. Absolutely awful what a vile mouthed women. Moving to another medical centre where the staff are lovely.

Having read the negative reviews on here, I tend to agree. Some receptionists are so unsympathetic and have an awful manner. Have had good experiences with both nurses and doctors when we were able to have face to face appointments, pre-covid however.

I can't criticise the Dr's or Nurses themselves but the system here is shocking! Literally impossible to make appointments. A non medical trained receptionist will ask what your problem is and decide if it is urgent. A standard; 'ring in the morning' is usually given. This involves redialling over and over in a lottery to see if you may get an appointment. After a few days of this you may be lucky enough to 'win' and appointment with a doctor! I thought the old surgery was the problem but no improvement despite a £4m development.

Awful, rude reception staff who decide if you are unwell enough to be seen. Never any appointments. Always told to phone in the morning, but when you do there still aren't any appointments and they will not let you book in advance.

I put in a request with ask my gp today. No appointment was given just a quick chat over the phone. I was told to pick up a prescription, picked up the description to find the wrong medication inside. This is just appalling. I have been trying to get hold of the doctors on the phone, twice now I have been on hold over 20 minutes then they just hang up instead of answering. Lazy, rude and incompetent staff. Awful, just awful.

No other word for this medical centre but AWFUL. Receptionists are rude, patronising and not helpful at all. Today, their online service is off as it pretty much always is and my mother has called 4 times and each time after being on hold over 10 minutes they clearly pick up the phone and end the call! I have no idea why these receptionists still have their jobs. Shocking place with shocking staff.

Humanoid receptionists. Avoid this place like your life depends on it. Disgraceful.

This place needs staff that care. The receptionists are so rude and abrupt. No customer service skills AT ALL. They don't care one bit and just want to get you off the phone. The receptionists are the worst thing about this place and that's saying something when it's impossible to get in as they say they only have ONE doctor. Uselss.

Unfortunately, do not care for their patients, receptionists are rude and do not care what you have to say or what your problem is. They are overwhelmed and can't deal with any more patients. I needed to speak to someone as a matter of urgency and was told I had to wait over the weekend until Monday because I didn't use the AskMyGP app in the morning. Shambles of a surgery.

Tried to get a simple form filled out for my work, ie I could not work without this form. I explained the urgency of this to the receptionist however she did not seem to care. Fast forward a month and I am still waiting to get this form back and I am due to move abroad in a week however this form is preventing me until I get it back. I explained the urgency to the staff and their response was ‘ sick people take priority ‘ even though I can not work with out this and they’ve had it over a month. Awful experience with staff that do not care

Just a nightmare trying to book appointments. Worsened tenfold since covid...even now when the rest of the UK is slowly reopening as the vaccine reduces hospitalisation, the practice hide behind Covid to offer the most unhelpful appointment service. They know we have very little option to change and find a new supplier so, the grim service continues....

Hope family Medical Center have taken a step back from excellence. Went for my blood test today, normally you just sit in the blue seats and she calls you through. If you need a urine sample the nurse passes it to me in her room. Today there’s a note on the board saying collect your blood sample form before having blood taken. So in a queue, one on reception who is doddering. My turn, Morning I’m here for a blood sample. Hand over all my detail, name DOB address etc, for her to look at the computer and start shaking her head in a negative way. Then says In front of everyone diabetic review I confirm, she start shaking her head again gets up walks off, comes back 5 minutes again sits down gets herself comfy, starts shaking her head again, at which point I have to say, is there a problem. Only HP1SC is on the form, she then spends another five minutes printing forms off and collection pots and try’s to explain the urine pot, I’ve just turned round to her and said just give me the forms. I don’t want to be in a reception area with not clinical staff talking to me about my medical conditions and telling me I need urine samples and how to take them in public areas. I was so frustrated with the situation I haven’t bothered booking an appointment for my review.

Credit where it is due, what a difference a few months makes. Got through on the the new phone system within minutes. Got a choice of appointments on the same day with a Doctor. Saw the Doctor almost perfectly on time. Very good.

I had an appointment for the COVID vaccine but the nurse was not in. I was told to come back in 10 days time was given the appointment time on a scrap piece of paper no apology and when I said why am I not in the system was told that when I had my first vaccine in February they would not be putting April appointments in! Left me feeling unimportant all it needed was an apology for my wasted journey. Not the first time my family have had such bad customer service.

Online system doesn't work. Receptionists are rude and don't help at all, make you feel worse if anything. No luck of an appointment. I was offered a phone appointment for 2 weeks time for a problem which needs to be seen.. how do they expect a phone appointment to help? Awful place.

I can't fault this surgery, it's staff.I can get through easily when I ring, or askmygp. The doctors are fantastic, receptionists as helpful as they can be.

Have had a couple of telephone diagnoses both have been done very professionally. I would also like to thank Hope medical centre for the speedy and an extremely professional manner in which way the covid vaccine was administered.

What a lovely team especially advanced nurse Carol Douglas-Jones. Extremely caring, thorough, professional & above all respectful. On every occasion I have been seen at Hope Family Centre I have always left feeling confident that whatever problem I may have had or indeed have will be handled with the utmost care.

Staff are so lovely, really reassuring, helpful and understanding. They have been brilliant with my little boy and me. I’ve always been seen within an appropriate amount of time and although it’s obvious drs in general are rushed off their feet, I’ve never felt like an inconvenience or as though I’m wasting their time. Cannot be more thankful for our local drs surgery!

Spoke to Dr Kartha this morning at 0805 after competing an online form at 0800. Excellent service.

Awful service, mainly from receptionists. Impossible to get an appointment for a problem which has been going on weeks. Online service also doesn't work. Useless medical centre and rude staff. Currently looking for a new doctors practice which actually cares about their patients.

The staff are excellent, friendly and competent ; they are also quick to respond if an Early response is required such as a need for antibiotics or an appointment with a GP. It has been a very difficult period for ALL surgeries over the Covid period with illness in the staff as well as patients, and Hope Surgery has come through it well and is getting back to its usual proficient self. I highly recommend this surgery.

Dr Douglas-jones has always been most helpful and staff are friendly and welcoming. The online gp service is also great and quickly responded to. Thanks.

Curious. I do not understand why there is a 6 week wait for an appointment. This is the 2nd time now. Why not a 2 week wait? The surgery always appears to be so quiet these days on the occasions I pop in to collect my prescription.

Absolutely terrible attitude from receptionist with half pink hair. No empathy or personalality whatsoever, wasn’t ‘allowed’ to see the doctor, as I was a few minutes late, through no fault of my own. If placed in any other job, she wouldn’t have a job long!

Please can you get more reception staff, I have been on hold for 45 minutes still not got through. I have been trying all day!

  • 5/5 Leanne J. 5 months ago on Google
Always held very high opinions of this GP practice. Over the last year I have never struggled to get an appointment and more recently have had no issues for my little boy needing them either. Medical staff are friendly and seem well organised. Most reception staff are friendly bar 1 extremely rude lady (get them everywhere though don’t you). Phone lines take a while to get through as expected but since the implementation of Klinik I have always been able to get in touch without an issue.
