Thank goodness for the PDSA. It's really sad that private vets have lost sight of their cause. Our pets don't have a voice but their lives are beyond precious to their owners. Always donate to the PDSA if you've been fortunate enough to receive an appointment. Private vets are extortionate! A donation is the least we can do for what the PDSA consistently do day in, day out. Genuinely, THANK YOU to all involved with the care shown to Fergus this week.

Went to PDSA in Kirkdale for a memorial ceremony for my late sister who worked there as a veterinary nurse. Had a sad but amazing time. The staff have renamed their dental suite The Emma Jefferies Dental Suite in her honour; planted a birch tree and put a dedicated bench in their memorial garden . To say we are proud is an understatement. My sister was very well loved by her colleagues, much more than she ever realised.

Got my dog an appointment straight away and she had an opp 2 weeks later which all went well. Vets and assistants absolutely great they couldn't do enough for my dog. The only downside was the manchild on the front desk! Was rude to my elderly nan and was laughing and joking about pressuring elderly people into making larger donations than they intended. I understand they need the help and I donated £100 myself but some elderly people can't afford it and I found this behaviour to be absolutely disgusting and of a bullying nature. Let's the place down massively.

My sons puppy Lucy had been attacked and bottom jaw snapped in half. Stephen the surgeon here is a miracle worker. He wasnt sure because of her small size and the severity but he gave it all. It's only been 24 hours and he's wired it together so we'll even tho others wouldn't. She's already eating and drinking the food provided without the syring tail wagging and miracle dog. Thankyou so much! Day 2 photo and day 4 added.

Cannot fault at all.we have been going for a long time with our poorly dog who is still with us..our 15yr old other cav suddenly fell ill wiith a brain tumour and 2 weeks later needed to go for his long sleep. They'd never really seen him as he was always fine yet treated him with the most respect and made it so much easier for us..he went sleep with his favourite blanket and mouse which they kept with him until he was collected which gave us so much comfort. Today he was returned to us and his blanket and mouse are saving him his space on his sofa.thankyou so much for everything to all of you..love us and Red and dodge x

Their complacency and blatant disregard for my dogs welfare cost my dog and friend of 16 years his life. All he needed was some antibiotics...i even donated £40 to their cause. I will never forget this experience at the hands of the very people who were supposed to help. Smiling assassin's more concerned about saving money than animals lives.

Excellent, I have now moved my pets across to PDSA after my older cat needed an operation and the vet at the time wanted £1000 up front. PDSA were happy to work with my insurer so all I had to hand over was my excess amount. I’ve stayed ever since.

My elderley mum brought her new rescue in to the Huyton hospital at the weekend. According to the website she is eligible for low cost treatment due to pension credits.the dog was very poorly with a huge ear heamatome that looks like it will pop at any time.she is clearly in pain and off her food. The reception said it wasn't an emergency and they would see her on Monday. My poor mum and a very poorly dog attended the kirkdale surgery today. The dog didn't get to see a vet but a very nasty receptionist told my mum that they don't accept walk ins nor pension credits although the website clearly states pension credits do count. They offered a very sick dog an appointment in 3 weeks time and let her leave the surgery in pain without even advice. My mum left in tears at the way she was treated. God help the poor animals if this is the level of compassion offered. Absolutely shocking.

I know you may have to wait a little while but it's worth it, this pdsa saved my beautiful boys life last year after he had a stroke and for that I'll always be grateful. 🥰

Always amazing service and care staff are lovely and welcoming. It's always very busy here and now they have set a little area aside just for cat's. Every time you visit It's a minimum of £20 which is a massive saving than the local vet's if you are getting council tax help then the pdsa is a fantastic veterinary care facility. I have been going to the pdsa in kirkdale since it opened and they have supported me through all my pet's lives from beginning to end I really appreciate everything they do.

My very 1st time at a vets and it was to take my 22 year old cat Daisy to be treated. She was old, seemed to have lost all capacity. The reception staff & vets treated Daisy & us with compassion, dignity and care. Alas she wasnt able to come home with us and we had to say goodbye as she was put to sleep to halt anymore suffering for her. Wonderful establishment

Devastated to lose our kitten but staff here were absolutely incredible and so understanding. They explained everything simply and compassionately. They deserve so much respect and recognition for everything they do each day. Thank you both kirkdake and Huyton branch , you were amazing

SUPERB. The staff went above and beyond for my pet. Tom, Amy, Caroline, Donald, Helen, Daisy, Janet, Sophie ... so kind, so patient, so invested in getting her better. Absolutely amazing team. They and all the staff were working so hard with their limited staffing. Superb job. Reception were so caring too.

For getting in touch by phone with Kirkdale and probably any pdsa is extremely hard there’s no operator to take a simple call 📱 it’s all automated pressing of numbers No actual person to speak to just to say lm running late for my appointment? So for this l score imthat part of service a 1star unfortunately

The staff are always friendly and caring when iv had to visit over the years but sadly I won't be coming anymore as my last visit resulted in my fair baby going off to doggy heaven, I wasn't rushed to leave but given time to say goodbye I would always recommend this place for sick pets as everyone is treated with patients and expertise Goodnight Dixie boy

My experience at the PDSA has been wonderful. Being on benefits they have given me the peace of mind knowing that they will do what is best for my cat and I have happily been able to give donations on each visit. I trust them implicitly!! Thank you

They don’t give you an appointment after you contact them via the online form. Been waiting months and they never got back to me. Appalling. You can’t call them about it either, the phone automatically disconnects you if you don’t select the urgent medical care option.

They don't want to treat my girl even though she cuts her ears everyday. Their terrible and left my girl suffering and with no quality oflife. I'm now looking at maybe having my 3 year old put down as the quality of life is going down the vets are not interested

After going to a vets prior to visiting this lovely unit PDSA The Previous Veterinary Surgery Informed Me That Our Families 14 Years Old Lhasapo Had Encountered A Stroke At Our Home & Needed An MRI + Blood Tests + Antibiotics + Something Else At An Approximate Costs Of £360+. I Being On Low Income Was Rather Reluctant To Pay This & Was Also Weary Of This Diagnose & Told Them About My Financial Situation & Said If I'd Pay That Which I Can Barely Afford & She Passes Tonight Or Tomorrow Its A Lot Of Money I've Wasted. That Vet Then Went On To Say That She Was Showing Any Signs Of Pain & Because She Can't Hold Her Weight On Her Legs & Swaying To The Left It May Be Best To Put To Sleep But Contact The PDSA & See If They Can See Us Which We Did & They Instructed Us It Was An Emergency Head To There Surgery. On Entrance & Registration They Asked So Kindly For A Donation Which We Gladly Agreed, Then We Where Rushed Into A Qualified Vet Who Took Her Obs & Stats Whilst Also Trying To Get Her To Stand Which She Couldn't Do, This Vet Infomed Us It Wasn't. stroke As Suspected But Vestibular Disease Which Can Happen In Elderly Dogs & Usually Self Recover In 2/3 Weeks Slowly & Doesn't Require Medications Or Tests But Full Care Control By Us If We Where Able To Hand Feed Her, Access To Water By Her Mouth & Supprting Her In The Garden Whilst She Done Her Business & Built Strengths Back Up If Possible, If She Gives Up The Fights Then Return Straight Away If She Doesn't Take Water Or Food & Not Passing Anything Then They'd Consider Placing Her To Sleep To Assist Her End Of No Life Journey Sadly. Our Lady Is Trying But Still Unable To Weight Hold So Back To These Outstanding Professionals Who Show Care & Compassion For Your Pets & Not Ripping You Off For Own Financial Gains Or Putting A Pet To Sleep Early When There Clearly Could Be A Chance That The Pet In Question Could Possibly Make A Recovery. Outstanding Friendly Affordable Professionalism Every Time Thank you.

I needed to have my pups baby teeth removed but they didn't actually perform this procedure, which would've been good to know prior to going. However, they provide an invaluable service for people who can't afford extortionate vet prices

Excellent service and the staff was so caring and lovely. Would recommend anyone who has a pet to go to the PDSA and I would definitely pay full price for my dogs to be seen by the vets there.

I didn't attend the pet hospital my self but my cat, Taschio, unfortunately did. I say Unfortunately because he was hit by a car and had to have his whole left leg amputated. FORTUNATELY, Kirkdale PDSA was there to help where others wanted money up front. I intend to make a few donations when I can to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff there and Cat Protection volunteers. Please help these selfless agencies if you can. PS, Taschio is on the mend and all through this horrible event never lost his appetite. So that's good.. Thanks again Kirkdale PDSA.
