Been coming to Loggerheads for a number of years now and love it. Ample car parking spaces that doesn't cost too much. £1 for 2 hours, £2 for 4 hours or £5 for the whole day. The main car park accepts card as well. Plenty of different walking routes to choose from with some stunning scenes. Devils Gorge is a must to visit as well.

40 of us. Breakfree recovery support. All meet at the end of every month. And go on a hike. This month was Moel Famou. We started at Loggerheads. Hiked up to the top. It was a challenging hike. Then back down a different route. Highly recommended. ⛰️👍

Beautiful place to walk, the dogs loved it, and it was nice and shady on a hot day. There is a car park, which isn't very expensive which was good. There is also a lovely cafe, so was nice to stop and have a bit of lunch. We also had a lovely breakfast on our last morning before driving home.

Lovely walks with a mix of low level paths along the river and climbs up to the top of the cliffs with stunning views from out of the trees. Great car park / toilet / cafe facilities and only £2 for 4 hours parking. Will definitely be returned

Wasn’t expecting too much, but this place is lovely. I really enjoyed my walk up over the limestone cliff and along the river. Nice cafe at the end 😊. Parking is cheap too £2 for 4 hours.

I had a wonderful half-day out at a beautiful spot just 20 minutes away from Chester. The place was surrounded by a lovely stream and natural beauty, making it a comfortable and enjoyable spot for a walk. I particularly loved walking up to the mini hill and enjoying the stunning view while having a picnic. To top it all off, I ended my day with a delicious breakfast at Cafe Florence. Overall, it was a lovely day out that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic escape from the city.

Love the place. Plenty of car parking, nice cafe, lovely food. Pleasant walking around. Not for wheelchairs I think. Very good for dog walkers. If they had a place to hose down dogs after a muddy walk that would be great.

Great place for the dogs to run or stroll along the riverside. We went on the cliffside route which was quieter than the riverside so didn't see as many people/dogs. Would go here again definitely. Nice hot chocolate and gift shop as well to visit after the walk.

A well laid out country park. Fairly easy walk for most ages. Grandchildren love spending time here paddling, building dams etc. Nice cafe with a variety of food stuffs and plenty of seating. Dog friendly.

Lovely place for a trail run. Nice cafe at the carpark to enjoy a brew afterwards.

The walk was lovely a little muddy but just what you would expect this time of year. The colours of the trees are spectacular and the water flow was nice to hear. You have to call in the cafe after your walk for an amazing hot chocolate

Love this place! If you're feeling fit take a walk up to the clifftop, the views are stunning and well worth the hike! Then treat yourself to an icecream at the cafe afterwards, delicious!

Stunning views. Lovely walks. Some different views if you can find them. Try to find the quiet times as can get busy. Good parking and very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit just for the scenery.

A selection of paths with varying levels of accessibility - I've tried a few routes now and most recently, the steepest. There are public toilets, a café, and a decent car park (plus overflow) with a small fee (£5 for the whole day). The mill is interesting but only takes a few minutes to see, and there's a small art gallery (not much information about the artwork) again, only takes a few minutes. There are picnic benches and space for children to play, and good signage about the history of the site and the nature you can see.

Great walk with family. Lovely views. Very friendly people on rhe route we took. Walked to Devil's Gorge before taking the steps to the hill top to view Moel Famau. Toilets clean. Small shop. Places to sit for a picnic. Popular with dog walkers and families.

Lovely walk through Loggerheads. Viewing point over to Moal Famua. There is a lovely Cafe at the end of your walk, selling really nice food.

We spent there nearly 4h but will definitely go back again. Kids loved it having fun by the river, climbing on the rocks, see gorge.

Stunning part of North Wales. Some nice walks to be had with great views. Now if only the irresponsible sof owners pick up their mess and dispose of the bags and don't hang them off trees or leave them preserved for eternity on the ground.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Beautiful place. Dog friendly with a cherry on top. Lovely if pricey coffee shop. Glades. Stream. Shade. Just gorgeous.

It was raining hard when we visited so we just did the clifftop circular walk coming back along the riverside. Good paths throughout Lovely views at the top. Clean toilets and carpark with small charge which goes towards the upkeep of the park.

Lovely place to walk with or without dogs, meet with freinds for coffee and chat. Food looks really good in the cafe but I feel a little on the expensive side. Nice place for a picnic though !

Lovely walk, dog friendly.. The entrance area has a shop, cafe, clean toilets, picnic area and a old mill, so spend abit of time and have a look around... Woodland walks are a must, a few well signed walks to follow, we followed the devil's gorge, which had loads of things to see from sculptures, wildlife, old mines and relics.... Knock a coin into the fallen tree trunk for luck, if you can find it.. 🤔🤔

Fantastic place to go for a walk with different walks catering for all abilities. The facilities into the park are great and there is a strong focus on wildlife that if you are patient, you will see an abundance of. The main car park is not that big but the overflow is a decent size and I have never not been able to park. From the top of the cliff the views are great and it is a great place to be all year round. Typical of these places, decent footwear is a good idea but sturdy trainers are fine for most of it. Young children will find most of it achievable but younger children may struggle with the steep steps on the circular route over the cliff.

An excellent place to visit to get away from the busy city life. There are multiple paths, so you can take a gentle stroll along the gorge, or you can go fully off-road and take on the cliff; there's something for everyone here. The scenery is truly stunning and there's even a little cafe to grab a coffee on your way out.

Popular place, very busy on the weekends. Great place to meet new people. Lots of dog walkers and families. We took our lil explorer here Sunday 30th Oct 2022 in her waterproofs and boots collecting leaves and she loved it. Lovely river flowing through which you can walk each side of for the most part. Devil's bridge is cool too but quite a walk if you're up for it. We'll sign posted and lots of different walks to meet the walkers ability.

Lovely place for a walk. Car parks do get busy though so get there early - more peaceful at that time too. Cafe next to the car park. River Alyn was dry when we visited ☹️

Amazing day out! Its a special place. Nice walks, not too strenous at all. Places to rest too. Amazing view from top of hill. Lovely river. Nice cafe and pub opposite too.

A lovely walk from Loggerheads, up Moel Famau and back. Totalling 6 miles. Quite steep in some areas, but our 5 year old managed it.

I absolutely love coming here with friends, family or just for a dog walk!! Such a lovely place with amazing scenery and such a great place to train your dog off the lead too! The hilltop view is probably my favourite part though!!

Absolutely beautiful location, perfect for walks, photographic dates, photoshoots and just enjoying nature and the smell of the wild garlic! Dogs are allowed and there are many paths to take aswell as the streams. There is a cafe with ice cream and a gift shop for those little bits but I love the lawned area to just throw a picnic down and enjoy the weather.

Beautiful day out with the kids. Lovely walk, streams to play in and ice cream at the end

A lovely riverside walk were you can see Dipper, Grey Wagtail amongst many other birds. There is also a cafe & toilets near the car park. The only let down is the amount of dog walkers letting their dogs run wild and the dog dirt which some lazy owners cannot be bothered picking up!

  • 5/5 Paul R. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic place to visit, great walks for all ages and abilities. Proper maintained paths. Steeped in history and old industrial workings. Dog friendly too. Cafe spot on, proper fresh coffee and mega HUGE scones! Car park £1. What's not to like?
